Trip to Hanley / Newcastle 19-11-2025

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going out on the bus. Matthew got up around 09:00 and had toast and juice for breakfast. He chilled out in his room and watched buses out of the windown until it was time to go out. In the morning Matthew went out in the car. We went downstairs and we got in the car. We set off onto Temple Street. We turned right onto Smithpool Road and left onto City Road. We ran over the railway line and then we turned went Forwards onto the A52. We went under the railway line and we joined the Northbound A500. We ran North up to the M6 and we continued North as far as junction 20. We ran through Cheshire and we came of the motorway at the A54. We went west to Middlewich and for a short distance before joining the A533 and we turned left onto Road One. We turned right onto Road Six and we stopped at McDonalds. Matthew had a cheeseburger and fries washed down with a cup of Coke. When we had finished we headed to Fenton. We got in the car and we set off down the Road Six and we turned left onto Road One. We turned right to re-join the A533. We ran alongside the canal and into Elworth. We passed Sandbach railway station and we ran to the edge of town. We ran down the Western edge of town and we turned left onto the A534. We turned left onto the A533 and we continued over the M6 and through Thurlwood past the Royal Oak pub which is being refurbished. We continued through Rode Heath and onto the A5011. We ran down to Talke and we joined the Southbound A34. We ran about 2 miles to the A500 and we joined the Southbound side. We ran through Longport and Etruria and we came off the A500 in Stoke. We turned left onto City Road and we ran under the railway line. We ran up the hill into Fenton and we turned right into Smithpool Road. We turned left into Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to his room to chill out. He chilled out in his room using his computer and watching buses out of the window. We went downstairs and we set off onto Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We turned left onto City Road. We stopped at the kebab shop and we brought burger and fries. When we brought the food we walked back down City Road and we turned left into Christchurch Street. We turned left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to his room to chill out and watch buses before going out later on. We saw Prime Cars YJ16 CTY.

Before tea We went downstairs out for a walk to fetch his tea. we set off onto Temple Street. In the distance we saw Just Travel HG19 FHJ. We turned left onto Smithpool Road and we ordered sausages and chips gravy and then we walked back along Smithpool Road and onto and back to the residential unit. We went upstairs and Matthew went to his room to chill out. Matthew went into the living room to have tea. Matthew ate his sausages and chips gravy followed by a Butterfly cake. We went downstairs and we set off onto Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We waited for a bus towards Hanley. We continued along Christchurch Street. We onto City Road. At the top we crossed over Victoria Road to wait for the bus at the bus stop. A few minutes later the bus turned up and it was dud First Potteries 67150 on a #6A to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before we sat down. We set off down Victoria Road and we crossed over the A52 at Joiners Square. We ran up Lichfield Street and we turned left onto the ring road. We turned right onto Bethesda Street and right onto John Street and into the bus station we got up and got off the bus. We set off out of the bus station. Once off the bus we went to the stop to wait for a bus to Newcastle. A short time later a bus arrived on stand. It was First Potteries 63364 on a #38A to Waterhayes.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station and onto John Street. At the bottom of the road we turned right onto Bethesda Street. We turned left onto Broad Street and then we joined the clockwise ring road. At the end we turned left onto Etruria Road. At the end we turned left onto Etruria Valeey Link Road. We turned left onto Shelton Boulevard and we turned right onto Etruria Road before going under the A53 onto Festival Way. We ran past Waterworld and we turned left onto Forge Lane past a new minibus building by the Brindley Farm pub. We looped under the A53 and we joined the Westbound A53. We crossed over the A500 at Etruria and and we ran up the hill into Basford and we ran down hill to the edge of Newcastle and we got onto the one way system. At the jubilee roundabout we turned left onto Barracks Road before turning right into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we haded down to the bottom end of the bus station to see what we might catch. We set off onto Hassell Street and we turned right onto High Street and we visited a cash machine. We turned left into Church Street and we turned left onto Bridge Street and we went under the subway on to the A34. We turned left Dunkirk and we walked up Castle Hill Road and we right onto Stanier Street. We got out of the taxi and we saw black minibus RX20 DCU. When we got into the building Matthew went to the toilet. Afterwards Matthew went indoor the soft play area. When we had finished we said goodbye and we returned to Fenton in a taxi. We set off onto Stanier Street. When we returned to Fenton in a Lucky Seven taxi. We set off along Stanier Street and we turned left onto John O'Gaunt's Road and we turned left onto the B5044. We turned left onto the A525 and left onto the Northbound A34. We turned right onto Ryecroft and we ran forwards onto the one-way system. We continued onto the A52 and we run up to Hartshill. We veered left onto Shelton New Road and we stopped briefly near to the old Gilberts furniture shop. We continued down Shelton New Road through the traffic lights and we turned right to join the Southbound A500. We stayed on the high level road and we came off the A500 at City Road. Wand right into Smithpool Road. We turned left onto Temple Street the Queen Elizabeth II Court. We continued back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to his room to chill out and watch buses out of the window. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going out on the bus later. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast for breakfast. before Matthew went to the day centre he watched buses out of the window. We went downstairs and we set off onto Temple Street. We turned right onto Christchurch Street and we turned right onto Clifton Street and forwards onto Crawford Street and we turned left into the back alley. We turned right onto George Street and we turned right onto Welby Street and we turned left into the Watkin Street. We turned right onto Temple Street we saw Just Travel HG19 FHJ. We continued back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to his room to chill out and watch buses out of the window. Later on we went downstairs and we set off onto City Road. A few minutes later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 67146 on a #23 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Stoke before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off down City Road and we joined the A52 to go under the railway line and over the A500. We continued onto Church Street and we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we walked along Church Street. We crossed over the road into the pub and Matthew went to the toilet. We crossed back over Church Street and forwards onto Campbell Place. We stopped at the cafe on the corner of Hide Street that used to be called the London Grill. For dinner Matthew had a sausage bap and a can of Coke. We walked along Campbell Place and we had finished eating we went next door to Dougie Mac charity shop we and Matthew bought some boots. We walked along Campbell Place and we stopped at British Heart Foundation Furniture & Electrical. Once we set off back along Campbell Place and we went next door to Sports Direct and Matthew bought some boots. We walked down Campbell Place and we turned right onto to the Newcastle bus stop. When we got to the stop we waited for the the next Newcastle bus to appear. As it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 63102 on a #11 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off onto Church Street out of Stoke and over the A500. We ran under the railway line and we continued onto City Road. At the top of the hill we got up and got off the bus. We walked back to the residential unit. Matthew went up to his room and chilled out on his computer. We went downstairs and we got into the car. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We turned left onto Baker Street and left onto Glebedale Road. We turned right onto City Road. We ran forwards onto King Street and through Foley into Longton. We turned right onto Baths Road and we went to the Tesco Petrol Station. Once we had filled up with fuel we set off onto Baths Road and we went to Coffee. Matthew had a bottle of Irn Bru. Once we had finished we got in car and we set off out of Costa Coffee onto Baths Road. We passed the bus station. We turned right onto King Street and we saw Safeguard PK21 MKF. We ran through Foley into Fenton and forwards onto City Road. We turned left onto Smithpool Road and left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit and we went upstairs to his room. Matthew came downstairs and got in the car. We set off along Temple Street and we turned right onto Smithpool Road. We turned left onto City Road and we ran down the hill into Stoke. We ran forwards onto the A52 and we crossed over the A500. We continued onto Church Street and we ran around the one-way syaytem in Stoke. We rejoined Church Street and we continued up Hartshill Road past the former pub where we are building a new convenience store. We turned left onto The Avenue and right onto the A34. We continued through into Newcastle and we turned right onto Barracks Road and we passed the bus station. We turned left onto Ryecroft. We turned right onto A34 and we stopped at the pub. Matthew went to the toilet. Mum ordered the food and Matthew had gammon and egg with chips washed down with a glass of Coke. For dessert Matthew had a red velvet cheesecake with custard. When it was time to go we returned to the car for the trip back to Fenton. We set off onto the Southbound A34 and we turned left onto Ryecroft and at the roundabout we turned left onto the A527. We turned left onto Hanover Street and we turned left onto the A53. We ran around the one way system and we went along the A52 into Hartshill. We ran down the hill into Stoke and we went around the one-way system in Stoke. We turned left onto Liverpool Road and we veered right onto Elenora Street. We turned right onto Glebe Street and we followed the one way system onto Church Street. We crossed over the A500 onto City Road and we went under the railway line. We ran up the hill into Fenton and we turned right onto Smithpool Road. We turned left into Temple Street and back to the residential unit. We went to the shop arund the corner and Matthew got a small bottle of Coke. After we returned from the shop we went upstairs with Matthew and spent so time with him. Matthew also drank a bottle of Coke and a Manchester tart. Matthew chilled out in his room watching television and using his computer. Later on Matthew chilled out in his room. Matthew used his computer and watched music videos on the television. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going Stafford later on. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast for breakfast. before Matthew went to the day centre he watched buses out of the window. whilst waiting for the time to go to the day centre, we saw Just Travel HG19 FHJ parked up in the Street. We went downstairs and we cut through onto City Road. We walked to the stop opposite the flats and we saw blue minibus DG52 CXP. We waited for a bus towards Hanley. A short time later we saw Afford rent-a-car CF24 VZA outside there yard.

A few minutes later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 67152 on a #23 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off down City Road and we joined the A52 to go under the railway line and over the A500. We continued onto Church Street. and into the centre of Stoke. After a brief stop we continued around the one-way system onto Elenora Steet and right onto Copeland street. We turned left onto Glebe Street and we went under the railway line before turning left onto Station Road. We went past the railway station we turned right onto College Road. After running the hill through Shelton we continued onto Cleveland Road and forwards onto Regent Road. We turned left onto Lower Bethesda Street and we crossed over the ring road onto Bethesda Street. We turned right onto John Street. We entered the bus station and we got up and got off the bus. bus. The bus appeared and it was First Potteries 47519 on a #101 to Stafford.

We got on the bus bus and we booked to Stafford before We sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off through the bus station. and onto John Street. We turned right onto Bethesda Street and left onto Broad Street. We ran down the hill and over the ring road onto Snow Hill Before we turned right onto Shelton New Road. We ran down through Etruria an up into Hartshill before joining the A52. We ran into Newcastle down George Street. We joined the one way system and we turned left on the roundabout onto Barracks Road. As we got to the bus station onto Barracks Road. We ran Southwards onto the A34 and we ran down through Trent Vale and into Hanford. We continued down through to Trentham and then we got onto the fast section of the A34. We ran through Tittensor to Darlaston and we continued down to the North end of Stone. We Veered left onto Newcastle Road and we ran into Stone town centre. After going around the one-way system and onto Stafford Road. We crossed over the A34 onto Eccleshall Road. We turned left onto Tilling Drive and we ran onto the industrial estate. We saw former Wolverhampton Council minibus WX05 GDZ. We rejoined the A34 at the roundabout where the A51 goes Eastwards and we ran Southwards through the fast section on the A34 to the A513 roundabout. We ran the last couple of miles into town down the A34 onto Foregate Street and we turned right onto Chell Road where we got up and got off the bus. We set off along the path through to Mount Street and we continued onto Princes Street. We continued through the Hunters Row and we walked Westwards along Gaolgate Street. We stopped at pub. For dinner Matthew had a buttermilk chicken and waffle washed down with a glass of Coke. For afters Matthew had a slice of chantilly honeycomb cheesecake with ice cream. Once we had finished eating we set off onto Greengate Street and we went in the Katharine House Hospice Shop. We went on Salter Street and we walked over to Bank Psge. We ran up Market Square and Greengate Street and we passed old Hailfax bank. We crossed over the roundabout onto Bridge Street and we saw Chaserider 6502 on a #828 to Lichfield.

We crossed over the Bridge Street and forwards onto Newport Road. We waited for the next bus towards Newcastle. Whilst we waited we saw Select Bus 18 on a #6 to Rickerscote.

Once off the bus we walked along Newport Road to the pub. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards we headed into the bar. Matthew had a glass of Coke. When we had finished our drink we headed back along Newport Road. A few minutes later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 63101 on a #101 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle before sitting down towards the back of the bus.We set off onto the A34 and we tirned left onto South Walls. We followed the one way system on to Cope Street and left onto Eastgate Street. We ran forwards onto Salter Street and we turned left onto North Walls. We headed Northwards and we ran into the bus station. We left the bus station onto the A34 and we ran Northwards to the edge of town. We continued up the fast section of the A34 to the edge of Stone and then we turned left onto the industrial estate. We ran around the estate and onto Tiling Drive. We turned right onto Eccleshall Road and we crossed the A34 onto Stafford Road. We turned left onto Crown Street and we stopped at the main stop in Stone. We ran North up Newcastle Road and we re-joined the Northbound A34. We ran North through Meaford and Tittensor and up into Trentham. We continued North through Hanford and Trent Vale and we past the City General hospital before going into Newcastle. We turned right onto Barracks Road and we entered the bus station from the South end. We got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we waited for the next bus back Fenton. Whilst we waited we saw First Potteries 63363 on a #11 to Hanley.

Once off the bus we went across the roas to the toilets. We walked along Castle Walk and we stopped at Bristish Heart Foundation Home and Fashion and Matthew bought some boots. We walked down Hassell Street and the bus station Matthew went to the toilet. Afterwards we waited for a bus back to Fenton. A short time later we saw D&G Bus 794 on a #9 to Westbury Park.

A few minutes later we saw First Potteries 67146 on a #22 to Longton.

A short time later a bus appeared and it was D&G Bus 6012 on a #1A to Meir.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton and sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station onto Barracks Road. We ran Southwards onto the A34. We turned left into the hospital and we ran through the the grounds. As we travelled through the hospital we saw Roseville FD70 YDT. We turned left onto Hilton Road. We continued onto Albany Road and we turned right onto The Avenue. At the end of the road we turned right onto the A52 and we ran through Hartshill and down the hill into Stoke town centre. After a brief stop we continued along Church Street out of Stoke and over the A500. We ran under the railway line and we continued onto City Road. At the top of the hill we got up and got off the bus. We crossed over City Road and we cut through to the residential unit. We went upstairs and chilled out in his room to use his computer and watch buses. We went downstairs and we set off onto Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We turned left onto City Road. We stopped at the kebab shop and we brought burger and fries. When we brought the food we walked back down City Road and we turned left into Christchurch Street. We turned left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to his room to chill out and use the computer. For tea tea had Pizza followed by a butterfly cake. We chilled out on his computer. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going out on the bus. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast for breakfast. before Matthew went to the day centre he watched buses out of the window. whilst waiting for the time to go to the day centre. When it was time to go out we went downstairs and onto Temple Street. We turned cut through onto City Road and we headed towards the bus stop. We walked to the stop opposite the flats and we watched the sheltered housing complex. We waited for a bus to Hanley. The bus turned the corner and we saw it was First Potteries 67174 on a #23 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off down City Road and we joined the A52 to go under the railway line and over the A500. We continued onto Church Street and into the centre of Stoke. After a brief stop we continued around the one-way system onto Elenora Street and right onto Copeland street. We turned left onto Glebe Street and we went under the railway line before turning left onto Station Road. We went past the railway station ans we turned right onto College Road. We got on the bus and we booked to Kidsgrove before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station and onto John Street. We turned right onto Bethesda Street and we ran forwards onto Marsh Street. We turned right onto Trinity Street and left onto Stafford Street. We turned left onto New Hall Street and we re-joined Marsh Street. We ran forwards onto the A50 and we ran through Cobridge up to Burslem. We ran into the centre of town past the old Lloyds bank and onto Scotia Road past the Lidl. We turned left onto Williamson Street and right onto Tunstall High Street. We continued up the High Street past the City Centre Central depot and past the Tesco Express. We ran to towards Goldenhill and down the hill into Kidsgrove where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we walked around the corner onto the B5371 we walked onto the A50 and onto Heathcote Street and Matthew visited the toilet. As we walked through the Market Street and we visited the pub. Matthew used the toilet and then we brought a glass of Coke. After Matthew had finished his drink we went outside to wait for the next bus back to Hanley. We walked back onto Market Street and we turned left onto Attwood Street and we turned left onto Liverpool Road and up to the bus stop. We crossed over the road and we saw First Potteries 63114 on a #103 to Hanley. A short time later the bus appeared. It was First Potteries 63363 on a #38A to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before we sat down. We set off along the A50. We ran up the hill into Goldenhill and then forwards through Sandyford past the retail park into Tunstall. We ran down the High Street. We continued down the High Street and we ran past the former Co-operative bank. We turned left onto Williamson Street. At the roundabout we turned right onto Scotia Road and past the the old bus garage before running up the hill into Burslem Town centre. We ran through the light onto Waterloo Road and up the hill into Cobridge. We ran down the hill towards Hanley and then up into town along Hope Street and Stafford Street. We turned right at the end past the town hall and onto Bagnall Street before entering the bus station where we got up got off. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards waited for a bus back to Fenton. A short time later the bus appeared. A short time later we saw First Potteries 37430 on a #25 to Hanley. A few minutes later the bus appeared and it was First Potteries 67152 on a #23 to Newstead.

We got on the bus and we booked to Blurton before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off onto bus station onto John Street and we saw First Potteries 69160 on a #7A to Biddulph. We turned left onto Bethesda Street. We crossed over the ring road and we ran down onto Regent Road and forwards onto Cleveland Road. We ran down though Shelton along College Road. We turned right onto Avenue Road and left onto Stoke Road. We ran down the hill and we turned left onto Station Road and past the railway station. We turned right onto Glebe Street and under the railway line an we ran around the one-way system in Stoke and stopped by Stoke Minster. We turned left onto Church Street and we crossed the A500 and we ran under the railway line. After climbing up the hill into Fenton we turned right into Christchurch Street we turned right onto Station Bridge Road. We went forwards onto Heron Street and we went through Heron Cross and over the A50 onto Blurton Road. We ran down the hill and we went past the BP garage. We ran up the other side and we got off the bus opposite to the shops. Once we had finished we crossed over to wait for another bus back to Fenton. A few minutes later the bus appeared and it was First Potteries 67152 on a #23 to Hanley. We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before we sat down. We set off down Blurton Road and we ran down the hill into the valley. After crossing Longton Brook we ran up the hill into Heron Cross. We ran forwards onto Heron Street and we followed the road around onto Station Bridge Road we saw Ash to Adderley WP68 WKD. We turned left onto Christchurch Street where we got up and got off the bus. We walked around the corner onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to his room and chilled out in his room and use his computer and watch buses out of the window. Later on we went downstairs and we set off onto Temple Street. In the distance we saw Just Travel HG19 FHJ. We turned left onto Smithpool Road we went across the spare ground onto Willowdale Avenue and onto Whieldon Road and into uncle Dave's. Dave's house. For tea Matthew had chicken potatoes and carrots with gravy followed by a slice of toffee cheesecake. Later on he had a drink of Fanta orange and a few digestive biscuits. Uncle Dave now has a biscuit tin. Matthew chilled out in uncle Dave's house using his computer and watching television. Uncle Dave also did his DJ set. A couple of hours later staff came to escort Matthew back home. We set off onto Whieldon Road and we turned onto Willowdale Avenue we crossed the spare ground and we turned left onto Smithpool Road. We turned right onto Masterson Street and we turned left onto Watkin Street. We continued onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. When we got there we saw Just Travel HG19 FHJ parked up. We went upstairs and Matthew went to his room. He watched television and used his computer. later on he had a bath. For supper Matthew had some toast. Matthew went to bed around 23:00... Mark
