Trip to Chesterton / Stoke 13-08-2021

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. He was also going out on the bus later on. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast for breakfast. Before Matthew went to the day centre he watched buses out of the window. Whilst waiting for the time to go to the day centre, we saw Temple Street Church minibus RX18 GZW.

Matthew went downstairs and got in a car. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Smithpool Road. We turned left onto City Road and we ran down the hill onto the A52. We went under the railway line and we crossed over the A500 before joining the Northbound carriageway. We ran Northwards to Shelton and we joined Shelton New Road. We ran into Hartshill and we ran forwards onto George Street and into Newcastle. We turned right onto Ryecroft and at the next roundabout we turned right onto the Northbound A34. We ran through Milehouse and we veered left onto London Road. We continued into Chesterton and we turned left onto Loomer Road and we stopped at the soft play area. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards had a can of Coke. Matthew used the soft play equipment and afterwards got back in the car. We set off onto Loomer Road and we turned right onto London Road. At the en we joined the Southbound A34 and we ran through Milehouse to Newcastle. We turned left onto Ryecroft and we ran onto the A52. We followed the one-way system around and we ran up the hill to Hartshill. We veered left onto Shelton New Road and we ran into Shelton. We joined the Southbound A500 and we came off the A500 at Stoke. We turned left onto City Road and under the railway bridge. We ran up the hill into Fenton and we turned right onto Smithpool Road, We turned left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to his roon to watch TV and chill out. Matthew went up to his room to use his computer and watch buses. For dinner Matthew had sausage, chips and gravy. Later on we went downstairs to get on a bus. Transport for the journey to Joiners Square was Shelton Care Group BL69 RFF. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We crossed City Road onto Manor Street and we ran to the end where we turned left onto Victoria Road. We ran down the hill to Joiners Square and across the roundabout onto Lichfield Street and to the pub. Matthew went to the toilet and then had a a glass of Coke. Highlights of the bus sightings included First Potteries 44514 on a #7 to Kidsgrove and Exel Travel SJ63 LPL. After we had finished in the pub we returned to Fenton in Shelton Care Group BL69 RFF. We set off onto Palmerston Street and we turned right onto the A52. We turned left at Joiners Square roundabout and we ran up the hill into Fenton. At the roundabout we turned sharp right onto City Road. and we turned left onto Smithpool Road. We turned left onto Temple street and we we returned to the residential unit. We went upstairs to Matthew room to watch buses out of the window. We saw First Potteries 69148 on a #11 to Hanley. Just after 15:00 we went downstairs and we set off onto City Road and we waited for a bus to Stoke. We saw First Potteries 69162 on a #11 to Newcastle. We waited at the bus stop outside the flats and a few minutes later we saw a bus approaching. It was D&G 115 on a #1A to Audley. We got on the bus and we booked to Stoke before sitting down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off down City Road and we ran down the hill over the old railway line to Leek and onto the A52. We ran under the railway line and over the A500 and straight into Stoke town centre along Church Street where we got up and got off the bus. A few minutes later we saw the bus approaching. As it got closer we saw First Potteries 32650 on a #25 to Keele. We walked down we went under the railway line onto the A52. We joined the Southbound Trent & Mersey canal towpath and we walked past Dolphin Boats. We contuniued under Whieldon Road and past the site of the old Doultons toilet factory. We continued past the wagon works and incinerator. Once we had finished eating and drinking we crossed over the canal and walked up towards the BET365 Stadium. We turned left into Stanley Matthews Way. We carries on to the bus stop outside the BET365 Stadium to wait for a bus back to Stoke. A few minutes late we saw D&G Bus 110 on a #24 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Stoke before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off along Stanley Matthews Way and we joined the Westbound A50. We briefly got onto the Southbound A500 and we wheeled around over the A500 and past the Dunelm. We turned right onto Campbell Road. We ran into Stoke and we joined the one-way system before turning right onto Boothen Road. We turned left onto Church Street and we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we crossed over Church Street to wait for a First bus back up to Fenton. We saw First Potteries 32647 on a #25 to Keele. A few minutes later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 69154 on a #11 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off along Church Street out of Stoke and over the A500. We ran under the railway line and we continued onto City Road. At the top of the hill we got up and got off the bus. We crossed over City Road and back to the residential unit. We went upstairs and Matthew went to his room to chill out and watch buses out of the window. For tea Matthew had sausage egg chips bean with bacon and an oatcake followed by Toffee sponge pudding and custard. Later on Matthew had a bath followed by toast for supper. Matthew then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark
