Trip to Norton / Congleton 20-02-2018

Today Matthew was in residential and he was going to his day service. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Whilst waiting to go to the day service we saw First Potteries 67156 on a #23 to Hanley. Around 09:00 we set off on foot to the day centre. We walked onto Temple Street and right onto Christchurch Street. At the day centre we saw Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX.

In the morning Matthew we to Norton Children's Centre on Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX. For dinner Matthew had jacket potato with beans followed by toffee cheesecake. We set off onto Glebedale Road In the afternoon Matthew went to the YMCA on Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX. we set off onto Glebedale Road and we turned right onto City Road. At the roundabout we went sharp left onto Victoria Road and we ran down the hill to Joiners Square. At the roundabout we went straight across onto Lichfield Street. We turned left onto Regent Road and left again onto Harding Road and to our destination. In the YMCA Matthew played football with his peers. After Matthew had finished we returned to Fenton on Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX. We set off onto Harding Road turned left onto Regents Road. At the end we turned right onto Lichfield Street and we ran down the hill to Joiners Square. We crossed the roundabout onto Victoria Road. At the roundabout we turned sharp right onto City Road. turned left onto Smithpool Road and we turned left and left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went up to his room to chill out and use his computer.

When it was time to go out we saw that it was City Cabs SH09 OMR. We got on the bus and we set off onto Temple Street. We turned right onto Smithpool Road and then left onto City Road. We ran down the hill and forwards onto the A52 and under the railway line. We turned right onto the Northbound A500 and we ran up through Etruria and Longport to Talke. We came of the A500 onto the A34 and we ran Northwards up to Talke Pits. We continued onto the A5011 and forwards onto the A50. We ran past the Stanways Coaches depot and we turned right onto Church Lane. At the end we turned left onto the A34 and we ran to the edge of Congleton. We turned left onto Padgbury Lane and we stopped at the pub. Matthew had a chicken burger and fries with a glass of Coke. He also had chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. When we had finished we returned to Fenton on City Cabs SH09 OMR. We set off onto Padgbury lane and we joined the Southbound A34. We ran South for a few mile past Kidsgrove and Talke Pits and we followed the road to the left and down to Talke where we joined the Southbound A500. We ran South through Longport and Eruria and we came off the A500 at Stoke. We went along the A52 under the railway line and forwards onto City Road up into Fenton. Today we decided to stay local as Matthew wasn't in the best of health. We checked the weather and it was for cold mainly dry weather with some sunshine. Matthew got up just after 09:30 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. We decided to go out on the 11:51 departure towards Newcastle. Just before twelve we said goodbye to mum and we walked all the way to the bus stop on Magdalen Road. Just before our bus arrived we saw First Potteries 67631 on a #22 to Longton. Bang on time the bus appeared and it was dud First Potteries 63101 on a #22 to Newcastle.

We got on the bus and booked a Smart Day ticket at £5.30. This ticket is a multi-operator ticket valid throughout the North Staffordshire area. We sat down ear to the back of the bus and the bus set off onto the A5035. We went past the Trentham Hotel we turned right into New Inn Lane where we saw First Potteries 67159 was on the #21A to Hanley. Assuming we didn't hang around too long, we would be on this bus to Stoke. We got up to get off the bus at the man in Space and Matthew took another picture of First Potteries 63101 before it carried on to Newcastle.

Once we got off the bus we waited at the bus stop for a couple of minutes. A couple of minutes later we saw the First Potteries E200 MMC approaching. As expected it was First Potteries 67159 on the #21A to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we placed our Smart Day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus travelled through Trentham up New Inn Lane and right into Hanford along Wilson Road. We ran down Mayne Street before joining the Northbound A34. We crossed under the A500 and we saw First Potteries 63172 on the final #22 turn to Longton. We turned onto London Road and as we headed towards Stoke We passed First Potteries 42554 on a #21A to Tretham Hotel. We got off the bus outside of Maplins and Matthew took another picture of this bus.

Once we got off the bus we walked towards The centre of Stoke. We went around the corner into Church Street to Stoke Cafe. Uncle Dave escorted Matthew downstairs to the toilet and I ordered the food. Matthew had a breakfast washed down with a can of Coke. After we had finished eating we walked down Church Street to the Newcastle bus stop. On the way we saw First Potteries 41499 on a #11 to Newcastle.

When we got to the stop we waited for the the next Newcastle bus to appear. Whilst we waited we saw DE&G Bus 157n on a #9 to Biddulph. A few minutes later we saw a Scania approaching. As it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 65005 on the #25 to Keele.

We got on the bus and we placed our Smart Day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off along Church Street and off up the hill along Hartshill Road. We passed the Noah's Ark pub and Just after the pub we turned left by the Co-operative Food store and we headed to the hospital. We bounced our way through the hospital grounds over the severe speed bumps and we joined the North bound A34. We went around the roundabout at the bottom end of Newcastle and we turned right onto Barracks Road before entering the bus station from the Southern end. Once off the bus we saw D&G bus 142 on layover in between working on the #94 to Congleton.

We walked down to the bottom of the bus station to take a few pictures whilst we waited for a bus towards Tunstall. We saw First Potteries 32081 on a #98 to Ball Green. A few minutes later we saw D&G bus 149 on a #85 to Nantwich.

We walked up to the top of the bus station and we waited for the crowds to die down. We got on the bus and we placed our Smart Day ticket under the scanner before we went upstairs. The rear of the top deck was empty so Matthew took a picture inside First Potteries 37158.

We set off out of the bus station and onto Barracks Road. We crossed the Jubilee roundabout onto the A527 and headed through Wolstanton. As we travelled North up the road we passed First Potteries 41502 on a #98 to Newcastle. We turned right onto Porthill Bank and we we went down the hill and over the A500. We passed the site of Funderpark and we went through Middleport and at Trubshaw Cross we went left onto Brownhills Road. We joined Tunstall High Street and at the top of the Road we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of 37158 before it carried on towards Chell Heath.

We walked a few paces down the High Street and we entered the Tunstall Cafe. Matthew went to the toilet and I ordered his toffee cheesecake and a can of Coke. Once Matthew had finished eating we said goodbye and we crossed the road. We wanted to go back towards either Hanley or Newcastle. We turned down First Potteries 65733 on a #3 to Hanley and we decided to wait for the next Newcastle bus. A few minutes later we saw dud First Potteries 67603 going Northwards to Crewe.

A few minutes later the bus came around the corner and we saw that it was dud First Potteries 37158 again.

We got on the bus and we placed our Smart Day ticket under the scanner before we went upstairs. We ran down the High Street past the new building on the right and forwards onto Brownills Road. We continued down the hill and at Trubshaw Cross we continued down through Middleport into Longport. We crossed over the A500 and we climbed up Porthill Bank. At the top we turned left and we ran through Wolstanton and May Bank. We ran into Newcastle and we crossed the Jubilee roundabout onto Barracks Street. We went into the bus station and we got up and got off the bus. once in the bus station we had a look around to see what we might be able to catch. On Stubbs Street we saw D&G Bus 138 on layover, in between runs on the #94 to Congleton.

We decided that we wuld catch a bus to Hanley next. We saw First Potteries 65035 on a #101 to Hanley which we turned down.

We got on the bus and we placed our Smart Day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off out of the bus station and onto Barracks Road. We crossed the Jubilee Roundabout and onto the A53. We ran into Basford and over the A500. We ran down into Etruria and over the A500. We continued along the A53 and we turned left onto Forge Lane. We ran out along the Lane and we crossed over the canal before we returned back into Etruria along festival Way. We crossed under the A53 onto Etruria Road. We ran into Hanley and into the bus station. We let the bus empty and Matthew took a picture inside First Potteries 65730.

Matthew went to the toilet and we missed a #7A to Biddulph. We decided to go up to the carpark and take a few pictures. We left the bus station and walked onto Lidice Way. We crossed lover John Street and we saw First Potteries 67632 on a #3 to Crewe.

We went into the mulit-storey car park and we took a few pictures. We saw First Potteries 67636 on a #4 to Audley.

We came out of the car park to head back to the bus station. On the way we saw First Potteries 67640 on a #7 to Kidsgrove.

We went into the bus station and we visited the Spar shop. Matthew had a can of Coke as well as a couple of chocltae bars. Once we had paid for the thing we went to the stand to see First POtteries Dart 43877 arrive on the #7A to Biddulph.

We got on the bus and we placed our Smart Day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus waited for time before setting off out of the bus station. We went down John Street and onto Bethesda Street before we went across onto Marsh Street and then we turned right into Trinity Street. We turned left into Stafford Street and we continued forwards to Quadrant Road and we left Hanley along Town Road. We travelled through Sneyd Green and over Smallthorne roundabouts to Chell. At the roundabout we turned right and we ran down the A527 through Brindley Ford. We turned left to run through Brown Lees. We crossed over the A527 at Knypersley and we ran around through the housing estates of Biddulph before running into town via St John's Road, Colliers Way and up Wharf Road to the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of First Potteries 43877 before it carried on back to Hanley.

We went to the toilet and once we had finished there we headed up wharf Street to the High Street. In the High Street we saw Biddulph Taxi's DS65 TUY. We headed to the Kebab shop and we picked up a couple of portions of fries. We walked back to the bus stops and as we turned the corner we saw D&G Bus 158 on a #9 to Hanley.

We sat down and we ate the fries. Matthew washed them down with a can of Vimto. We just about finished and we saw First Potteries 67658 on a #7A to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we placed our Smart Day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off onto High Street and we turned left at the roundabout onto St John's Road. We ran around the estate and we crossed over the A527 at Knypersley We ran through Brown Lees via the diversion route and we rejoined the A527 by the industrial estate. We ran down through Brindley Ford and to Fegg Hayes. We ran up the hill to Chell and we turned left onto High Lane. We ran back through Smallthorne & Sneyd Green into Hanley. When we got back to Hanley we got up and got off the bus. We walked down to the bottom end of the bus station and we saw First Potteries 66964 on a #25 to Keele which we decided to do.

We got on the bus and we placed our Smart Day ticket under the scanner for the final time today before we sat down towards the back of the bus. When it was time we set off out of the bus station onto john Street and left onto Bethesda Street. We crossed over the ring road and we ran down through Shelton along Regent Road and College Road. We passed the railway station and we continued forwards onto the A52. We followed the road to the right under the railway line and we saw an unidentified Robin Hood coach. We crossed over the A500 entering Stoke town centre. We continued along Church Street onto Hartshill Road and into the centre of Hartshill. We turned left into the Avenue and left again onto Hilton Road before turning right into the City General Hospital. Once through the hospital we turned right onto the A34 and we ran into Newcastle. We crossed the roundabout and we ran up Barracks Road and into the bus station from the South end. Once we got ot the bus station we got up and got off the bus. In the bus station we saw D&G 113 on a #1A to Park Site.

We stopped at the toilet and afterwards we crossed over Barracks Road onto Hassell Street where mum was waiting. We got in the car and Matthew had a bottle of Irn Bru. After a short while she appeared and we got in the car. We went around the outside of Newcastle and we stopped at the Dancing Octopus for chips. We drove back down the A34. We continued South Through Trent Vale and Hanford and we joined the Northbiuond A500. We came off the A500 at Sideway and we joined the Eastbound A50. At LOngton we came off the A50 to check out what was at Z Carz this evening. There was nothing on the spare ground and we turned left into Willow Row and we saw Z Carz minibus YJ61 GYZ.

We returned onto the A50 and We ran Westwards and we came off at Heron Cross. We turned left onto Blurton Road and we ran through Blurton before turning right onto Church Road. We turned right onto Beaconsfield Drive and we got home around 19:00. For a late tea we had bangers and mash with carrots followed by a piec of cheesecake. Matthew chilled out on his computer and we did some more of the Blog and out our bus pictures online. Matthew went to bed around 01:00... Mark.

Today Matthew was in residential and he was going to his day service. He was also going to see Grandma later on and going to the pub and returning to Blurton for the weekend. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Around 09:00 we set off on foot to the day centre. We walked onto Temple Street and right onto Christchurch Street. We continued to the day centre and we saw Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX.

In the morning Matthew . Matthew didn't feel very well so he returned to the residential unit. Wew set off on foot ont Christchurch Street and we turned left into Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstiars to chill out and use his computer. For dinner Matthew had sausage chips and gravy followed by a Bakewell Tart. In the afternon Matthew had a nap. He woke up and used his computer whilst he waited for me to pick him up to return to Blurton for the weekend. He also watched buses out of the window. We saw white minibus HV54 VHP going towards Stoke.

Just after 14:30 I arrived at the residential unit to pick up Matthew. Matthew put his pictures onto his camera and we got some batteries and his bag and we went downstairs to the car. Just after 15:00 we set off back to Blurton in a car. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Christchurch Street. We turned right onto Station Bridge Road and we continued onto Heron Street. We went through the traffic lights and we crossed over the A50. We continued through Blurton along Blurton Road we saw D&G Bus 118 on a #40 to Hanley. We turned right onto Church Street. We turned right onto Beaconsfield Drive past the new build house and we saw Stanton's of Stoke KS05 BUS by the high school. We got home around 15:15. When we got home Matthew had toast and a glass of dandelion & burdock. Today we were catching the 15:56 to Newcastle as we were going to the pub via Grandma's House. We set off around 15:45 on foot to the bus stop all the way onto Magdalen Road. Whilst at the bus stop we saw Caudwell Construction DV12 JVY stop to drop someone of before continuing towards the A5035.

Shortly afterwards the bus came around the corner and it was dud First Potteries 67654 on a #22 to Newcastle.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off onto the A5035 and we saw Stoke City Academy 66 going towards Longton. We went over the railway line into Trentham and we passed First POtteries 63172 on a #33 to Longton. We turned right into New Inn Lane and we saw First Potteries 67156 on a #21A to the Trentham Hotel. Due to roadworks in Hanford instead of turning left into Wilson Road we ran down Mayne Street down to the A34. We headed into Trent Vale and we passed First Potteries 67603 on the final #22 turn. We turned right into Harpfields Road and forwards on Hilton Road. As we travelled through the hospital we saw ABC Supreme HN16 XNU & E-zec patient transport SF15 EOY. We turned right onto the A34 and we saw First Potteries 32648 going the other way. A couple of stops down the road we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of First Potteries 67654 as it carried on towards Newcastle.

As we got off the bus we look down the road and saw a habdful of buses following up the road. Behinbd us was First Potteries 65041 on a #101 to Hanley.

As we started to walk towards grandma we asw a coach in the distance. As it got closer we saw that it was Leon's coaches 222 going towards Newcastle.

We crossed over A34 and we headed up the hill to Grandma's House. At Grandma's Matthew had a can of Irn Bru and used her computer. It had been Grandma's birthday recently so Matthew gace her a card and a couple of presents that he had brough whilst out with the residential unit. Around 18:00 we set off onto Victoria Street and we saw white minibus YK08 PVA. We turned left onto the A34. As we past the hospital we saw First Potteries 37146 on a #101 to Hanley. We continued down the A34 and we ran down into Trent Vale and we went into the pub. Matthew had a brunch with oatcakes followed by toffee sponge pudding with custard. Whilst we ate highlights of the passing buses included E-zec patient transport YN15 FEO going Southwards as well as D&G 38 running out of service. We also saw First Potteries 32639 on a #101 to Stafford. Once we had finished eating we set off to pick up uncle Dave. We ran down the A34 and we joined the Northbound A500. We came off the A500 and we turned right onto the A50. We came off the A50 at Heron Cross and we dropped down into Fenton to pick uncle Dave up. Once we had picked him up we ran up to Heron Street and we crossed over the A50 and we continued into Blurton along Blurton Road where we saw School's Out YG58 WFS. We turned right onto Church Road and we turned right into Beaconsfield Drive. We got home around 19:30. Matthew chilled out on his computer and we composed a few e-mails and sorted a few things out. We then chilled out on the sofa doing e-mails and writing the until bedtime around 01:00... Mark

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. Matthew was also going to visit Funderpark later on. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Whilst waiting for time to got to the day centre Matthew spent time in his room watching buses. We saw First Potteries 41496 on a #11 to Hanley.

Around 09:00 we set off on foot to the day centre. We walked onto Temple Street and right onto Christchurch Street. We continued to the day centre and we saw Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX.

In the morning Matthew spent time on the computer. For Dinner Matthew had cheese oatcakes. In the afternoon Matthew went to Festival Park in an Intercity taxi. We set off onto Christchurch Street and we turned left onto City Road. We ran down the hill onto the A52 and we turned right onto the A500. We ran up to Etruria and we joined the Eastbound A53. We turned left into Festival Park. We turned right onto Ridgehouse Drive and we went to Morrisons. Matthew went to the toilet and then went to the cafe. Matthew had a drink of coke. When we had finished we set of onto Pavillion Drive and we joined the Northbound A53. At Cobridge we turned right onto Waterloo Road and we headed towards Hanley. We went clockwise around the ring road and we turned left onto Lichfield Street. At Joiners Square we crossed over the roundabout and onto Victoria Road. We ran up the hill into Fenton and we turned sharp right onto City Road. We turned left onto Smithpool Road and left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Back at the residential unit Matthew went up to his room. Matthew also watched buses out of the window where we saw Harry Shaw YN15 ELW going towards Stoke.

for tea Matthew had sausages & shepherds pie followed by a Bakewell Tart. Matthew saw a poster for Funderpark which runs tonight at Longport. We went out and it was Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street and we turned left onto City Road. We ran down the hill onto the A52 and we turned right onto the A500. We ran up to Longport and we came off the A500 we saw ABC Supreme HN16 XPS. on the Eastbound A5271 and we turned rihght after the petrol station and parked up. Matthew went to the Funderpark and we on some of the rides. After we had finished we returned to Fenton on Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX. We set off onto the A5271 and we turned right onto the Southbound A500. We ran through Etruria to Stoke and we came off the A500 onto City Road. We went under the railway line and up the hill into Fenton. We turned right into Smithpool Road and left into Temple Street and back to the reasidential unit. Matthew went upstairs to chil out in his room and use his computer. He also watched television. Later he had a bath and then had toast for supper. Later on Matthew had choclate cake and custard. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Whilst waiting for time to got to the day centre Matthew spent time in his room watching buses. We saw First Potteries 63099 on a #11 to Newcastle. Around 09:00 we set off on foot to the day centre. We walked onto Temple Street and right onto Christchurch Street. We continued to the day centre and we saw Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX.

We turned right onto the A52 and we ran near to the railway station and towards Joiners Square. At the roundabout we turned left onto Lichfield Street and we ran up to the ring road. We went around town anti-clockwise and we ran onto Waterloo Road. We ran through Cobridge into Burslem and we continued through town onto Scotia Road. We turned left onto Williamson Street and at the end we turned right onto Tunstall High Street. We continued through town through Goldenhill into Kidsgrove. We continued North through Church Lawton into Rode Heath and out the other side We passed the Stanway's depot were we saw Stanway's JIG 8878. We turned right onto Church Lane. At the end we turned left onto the A34 and we ran to the edge of Congleton. We turned left onto Padgbury Lane and we stopped at the pub. Matthew had a chicken burger and fries with a glass of Coke. He also had chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. When we had finished we returned to Fenton on Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX. We set off onto Padgbury lane and we joined the Southbound A34. We ran South for a few mile past Kidsgrove and Talke Pits and we followed the road to the left and down to Talke where we joined the Southbound A500. We ran South through Longport and Eruria and we came off the A500 at Stoke. We went along the A52 under the railway line and forwards onto City Road up into Fenton. We turned right into Smithpool Road and left into Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went up to his room to chill out and use his computer. We also looked out of the window watching buses. We saw Grocott Centre EU09 LTY going towards Stoke.

Later on Matthew went for a walk to Aldi to get some shopping. We set off onto City Road and we saw Stanton's of Stoke KXZ 2173 going towards Stoke.

A short while later we saw D&G Bus 134 on a #1 to Park Site.

We crossed over and onto Manor Street. At the end of Manor Street we turned left onto Victoria Road and we went down the hill to Aldi. Matthew brought his shopping and then we got a Lucky Seven taxi back to the residential unit. We set off onto Victoria Road and we ran up the hill. We turned right onto Manor Street and right onto Hallam Street. We turned right onto Elsing Road and we saw Afford rent-a-car MK67 UEJ in their yard. We turned right onto City Road. We turned left onto Smithpool Road and left again onto Temple Street. We then went back to the back to the residential unit. We got in the car and set off onto Temple Street. We turned right onto Christchurch Street and right onto Station Bridge Road. We followed the road around onto Heron Street. We went through the traffic lights and we turned left onto the A50. We ran through Longton and into Meir. We went passed the Copeland's Tours depot. We turned right onto Lysander Road and we parked up at The Weather Vane. Matthew went to the toilet and then we found our table. We ordered the food and Matthew had a glass of Coke whilst we waited. Matthew had a burger and fries chicken fillet and an egg as well as some steak. For dessert Matthew had a chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. When we had finished eating we went back to the car and returned to Fenton. We set off onto Lysander Road and we saw First Potteries 63173 on a #6A to Blythe Bridge. We joined the Westbound A50 and we ran fast to Longton. We came off onto the high level A50 and we turned right onto Baths Road. We saw First Potteries 63178 on a #6 to Hanley. We ran down King Street we saw First Potteries 63174 on a #6A to Blythe Bridge. We continued down onto City Road and we turned left onto Smithpool Road. We turned left onto Temple street and we we returned to the residential unit. Matthew went back to the room and went on his computer. Later on Matthew had choclate cake and custard. Matthew saw a poster for Funderpark which runs from Thursday 15-02-2018 to Sunday 25-02-2018 at Longport. Later he had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.
