Today Matthew was at his day service. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Around 09:00 the bus appeared to pick him up and it was his usual transport, Shelton Care Group DV10 JCU.

We got on the bus and it set off onto the A5035. The bus went through Blurton via Church Road and Blurton Road, and then went through Heron Cross via Heron Street. The bus carried on into Glebedale before arriving at his day service. In the morning Matthew spent time in the sensory room and using the computer. For dinner Mathew had sausage chips and gravy and then we went to the pub in Shelton Care Group DV10 JCU. The bus set off onto City Road an then onto Victoria Road. At Joiner Square we carried on over the roundabout onto Lichfield Street before turning into and parking at the pub. Whilst there we saw Scanias 60006/60136/60173/60201 on the #6 service. Matthew went to the toilet and had a drink Coke. When it was time to go we saw the bus had been swapped for Shelton Care Group DX53 VCA.

We got back into Shelton Care Group DX53 VCA step entranced minibus for the journey back to base. The bus went down Licfield Street and across the Joiners Square roundabout onto Victoria Road. We then turned right onto Manor Street and onto City Road. We turned into Glebedale Road and back to the base. When it was time to go home we got back onto Shelton Care Group DX53 VCA. The bus set off onto Glebedale Road and through Heron Cross via Heron Street. We carried on through Blurton via Bluton Road and Church Road and onto the A5035. Matthew got home around 16:05. He saw somebody he wanted to say hello to at the bus stop, but by the time we locked the house the bus came and they got on the bus. Matthew was very well behaved and return home with no problems. He had some toast and a drink and at around 16:00 we set off walking all the way to the stop on Magdalen Road to catch a bus to Trent Vale. I had seen most of the buses on the #22 and I was expecting it to be dud First Potteries 42892. Just after 16:10, a minute or two late we saw First Potteries 42892 come around the corner.

We got on the bus and booked to Harpfields Road. We sat down towards the back of the bus and the bus set off onto the A5035. At the end of New Inn Lane we passed First Potteries 41498 on the #21A to Hanley. The bus was quite full, but the seat opposite us had just emptied out so Matthew took a picture inside First Potteries 42892.

We carried on through Trentham and into Hanford before joining the A34 and going into Trent vale. The bus turned into Harpfields Road and we got up and got off the bus. Matthew then took another picture of First Potteries 42892 as it carried on towards Newcastle & Hanley

We crossed the road and walked onto the A34. we got to the pub and mum hadn't arrived. At the same time that we saw mum, First Potteries 41497 appeared on the #22 to Dresden.

We met up with mum and walked into the pub. Matthew had a brunch with bread and butter followed by toffee sponge pudding with ice cream. Whilst we ate highlights of the passing buses were 31518 on the #22. This was the first double decker we have seen on the #22 since the timetable change in July. Also seen were First Potteries 60171 & 60176 on the #101 Stafford service and Telford's SG12 ABE. After we had finished eating we called Uncle Dave and we went to pick him up. We drove along the A34 and onto the Northbound A500. We went East at the A50. We came off the A50 at Heron Cross and we dropped into Fenton. After we had picked up uncle Dave, we headed up to Heron Cross and through Blurton, getting home around 18:00. As Matthew had been good, we decided to go out and attempt to get a ride on dud First Potteries 31518. Our one and only previous trip on this bus was from Newcastle to Hanley back in October 2013. I had worked out in my headed that it was going to be on the 18:37 from Blurton to Newcastle. We could catch the 18:17 going the other way to head off the bus in Longton Hall Lane, getting it back home a few minutes later. We got to the stop and almost immediately we saw dud First Potteries 41501 approaching on the #22 to Dresden.

We booked to Longton Hall Lane and sat down near to the back. The bus went through Blurton via Beaconsfield Drive and as we went it dawned on me that we had probably missed the bus as it was on the 18:07 though Blurton. We had seen someone waiting at the stop, so if we got off early and it was running late we might be lucky enough to get it. We got up and got off the bus on Blurton Road and we preceded to wait for the next #22, whatever it was. We turned down required First Potteries 53405 on the #23A to Newstead.

This was follow by required First Potteries 40378 on the #23 to Newstead. This was immediately followed by dud First Potteries 41502 on the #22 to Newcastle.

The bus went through Blurton up Blurton Road and along Beaconsfield Drive. When we got to the end we spotted First Potteries 40378 was stopped and awaiting time. So we decided to get off First Potteries 41502 and to get onto required First Potteries 40378, but not before getting a photograph of this fine Dart.

We got on the bus and booked to Newstead. The bus was terminating at the shops as it was its last run off the day. This was the last of the former First Manchester Darts that Matthew hadn't been on. We sat down near to the back and the bus went onto Finstock Avenue before turning into Ripon Road. We crossed the A5035 and onto Barlaston Road before turning into Waterside Drive. The bus turned into Wimbourne Avenue and terminated at the shops. We got up to get off and Matthew got a picture inside First Potteries 40378.

We walked down a path and across a green before going onto Waterside Drive via Umberleigh Road. We took a path onto the A5035 and we saw former Chesterbus 374 Now First Potteries 41070 running empty towards the depot at Adderley Green. We walked onto Magdalen Road and we got home around 19:00. matthew then chilled out on his computer until bedtime around 23:30...Mark

Today we decided to have a local trip out to try and ride on a required First Potteries double decker or two. It was half term from college and I was working monrnings. Matthew got up at 10:30 and toast and orange juice for breakfast. He also had some crab paste sandwiches just after 12:00. I arrived home at around 12:45 and having seen what buses were going to be working the 13:00 from Blurton (43876) and the 13:15 from Blurton (60196) up to Newcastle, I decided we could do required First Potteries 43876. We set off just before 13:00 and walked all the way to the stop on Magdalen Road to wait for the bus. As we waited for the bus we saw Wardle Transport 2963 on the PLumline and JayJays Travel RX57 POV parked up. A minute or so late we saw as expected required First Potteries 43876 round the corner.

We got on and booked to Newcastle, then sat down near the back. The bus set off onto the A5035 and we turned toward Trentham. Here we passed dud First Potteries 40180 on another #22 towards Longton. We also passed First Potteries 40010 on the other #22 in Trent Vale, Wardle Transport 2211 on the #41 service in the Hospital and First Potteries 40150 on the afternoon #22/22A turn just outside of Newcastle on the A34. As we approaches the bus station we could see that there were a couple of step entranced First buses in the bus station. The bus pulled into the bus station and we waited for the bus to Empty so Matthew could get a picture inside First Potteries 43876 too.

A few stands up from where we arrived First Potteries 34285 was on an unidentified service. We turned it down because we had been on the bus to Biddulph on the #99 back in August. We walked around to the exit of the bus station and we saw that First Potteries 34285 was departing on a #98 to Ball Green. On layover (presumably from working a #32A dupe to & from Alton Towers) was dud First Potteries 34158.

We only needed 2 more First step entranced buses that we could still get. One was First Potteries 38125 which until the recent #25A service had been ultra rare and only worked on one or two different occasions until this October. The other was First Potteries 31518 which always seem to be on the Alton Towers service when we weren't able to catch it. It was then we saw First Potteries 31518 come into the bus station with a paper X25 sticker on the front.

We were going to catch this bus whichever way it was going, but we were delighted when we asked the driver and he said he was going to Hanley. The bus was reasonably well filled and we went upstairs. The bus stayed in the bus station for a few minutes and as we left the bus station we saw First Potteries 34286 on an unidentified service. The buses headed up George Street and into Hartsill. We passed one of the 'new' double deckers from east Anglia on a #25 and then we headed down into Stoke. In Stoke we saw the 3rd Alexander bodied Volvo 34288 working a Keele bound X25 service. We headed out of Stoke town centre and past the railway station and up through Shelton. The bus went past the Hinde Street park and ride site and then onto the ring road towards Broad Street. As we waited to turn onto broad Street we saw a 6th step entranced First double decker working. It was First Potteries 34311 on a #34 service into Hanley. We headed into Hanley town centre and then into the bus station. When the bus arrived we waited for the bus to empty and then Matthew got a picture of the top deck of First Potteries 31518.

We got off the bus and Matthew went to the toilet.We decided the leave the bus station and go and get some chips so we could stand in the John Street car park and watch buses. We decided to stop on the way to the chip shop and get another picture of 31518 on the X25. We stopped at the entrance of the bus station and waited for a couple of minutes. We then got another picture of First Potteries 31518.

We walked down to the chip shop and brought a portion of chips and 3 cans of pop. We then walked back to John Street car park and we were passed by Moore's coach M600 JCP, We stood in the car park and ate the chips between us. Matthew drank a can of dandelion and burdock and I had a can of Pepsi. We stopped and took a few pictures. On layover was Bakerbus Streetlite MX12 DZA. We also saw Wardle Transport 2217 on the X51 to Cheadle. We also saw Wardle Transport 4809 on the #16 to Leek, Wardle transport 4898 on the #19 to Bradeley. We then walked down to the bus station to see if we could catch something else interesting. We then saw Wardle Transport 3419 on a #46 to Blurton, and had it not been heading towards home we probably would have done this required step entranced Scania. We then saw step entranced Volvo B10 Bakerbus 164 arrive on a #5 from Abbey Hulton. It was already displaying #20 for it's next turn to Tunstall.

The bus had a short layover so we sat down and waited for the bus to arrive on stand P. Whilst we waited we saw a couple of the 'new' double deckers in service. First Potteries 37156 was on a X25 to Keele and first Potteries 37158 was on a #20A to Kidsgrove. Just before it's due time a late running #101 Stafford service pulled onto stand P so we had to watch to see where our bus was going. just before it's due time it pulled onto and adjacent stand and we got on it. The bus was quite well filled and it set off through Hanley. On Stafford Street we saw First Potteries 41070 which appeared to have broken down as it Pulled off the stop! We had only see this bus leave 10 minutes earlier on the #18 to Leek. The bus went through Cobridge and the traffic was heavy up to Burslem. The heating on this bus worked very well... A little too well so we had to open a window. A short bus lane in the centre of the road which I can't remember seeing before seemed to help a little to get the bus through the traffic. After we left Burslem the bus made good time. When the bus got up to the last stop on Tunstall High Street the bus emptied out and Matthew got a picture inside this fine beast.

When Matthew got off the bus he decided to visit a cafe on the High Street. He used the toilet and then I brought him a can of Coke to take out. He decided he wanted to sit in and also that he wanted a piece of toffee Cheesecake too! After we had eaten we crossed the road to catch something back to Hanley. Wardle Transport 2962 was on a #91 to Newcastle.As we walked up to the stop we saw a First bus pull up behind it. It was dud First Potteries 60202, which we decided to do anyway.

We got on the bus and sat near the back. There wasn't many passengers on the bus. Dud First Potteries 60078 was running just in front of us on a #29A. We headed into Burlsem and then up through Cobridge. We got back a lot quicker than we did going the other way as the road was much clearer. Due to a road closure around the town hall went all around Hanley on the ring road before turning into the bus station near the fire station. We got into Hanley and as the bus was emptying on John Street we decided to get off there. Matthew got a picture inside the bus as we got off.

We had arranged to meet mum in the car park. Whilst we waited for her to turn up we took a few pictures of buses. First Potteries 61143 was seen parked up in the layover area.

Mum turned up and we headed into Fenton to pick up uncle Dave. We left Hanley down Lichfield Street and then we went across Joiners Square onto Victoria Road. In fenton we joined City Road and then headed down to duke Street on the A50 link Road. On Duke Street we saw City Buses & Coaches R774 AKN. We picked up uncle Dave and headed into Longton to see what was visible on the land adjacne to the Z Carz depot. Today we saw Mercedes minibus S952 VMY.

We then headed back to Blurton along the A5035. We stopped at Aldi to pick up some oatcakes and orange juice and chips from the chip shop.and then we headed home along the A5035. We got home around 17:00. Matthew had chips sausage and gravy from the chips for his tea followed by a toffee flavoured yogurt. He chilled out on his computer for an hour or two and then we went around to uncle Daves house. We set off through Blurton and dropped mum off with a friend on Blurton Road. We the headed through Heron Cross into Fenton. At uncle Daves we ate custard creams and drank Fanta orange whilst watching the telly and listening to music and watching music videos. around 10:00 we set off home via heron Cross picking mum up on the way back. We got home around 22:15. Matthew then chilled out on his computer until bedtime around 00:00...Mark

Today mum was attending a wedding, so we decided to have a local trip to fit around this. No research was done other than to check the weather for today which was for fine sunny weather! Matthew got up around 10:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. We decided today that we would head towards Newcastle today so we walked to the stop Magdalen Road just before 11:30 to catch the next #22 bus. As we set off we saw 40017 heading towards Longton on the #22. A couple of minutes late First Potteries 40146 appeared from around the corner.

We bought our SmartDay ticket and sat down near the back. It was a required bus for me, but Matthew had been on this bus before when in respite back in February 2012. We went onto the A5035 and then turned into New Inn Lane. We passed 40148 on the third #22 turn and then we headed down onto the A34. We turned onto Harpfields Road and then went through the hospital and then back onto the A34. When we got to Newcastle the bus emptied out an h got a picture of the inside of the bus too.

When we got off the bus the first thing we noticed was First Potteries Volvo Olympian 31518 on layover.

We decided to wait around for a short while to see if it was going to work. After around 20 minutes we decided we would do the first double decker that we saw, as we have only been on one of the First Potteries B7TL buses. Unfortunately the first double decker saw was dud First Potteries 32627.

We decided to do this anyway as we hadn't been to Keele for a long time. We had been on 32627 before back in February. We got on the bus and went upstairs and sat down at the back. We set off out of Newcastle and onto the A34 and turned onto Orme Road. At the top off Orme Road the bus turned onto the A525 and we climbed up the hill and turned into the university. After traveling through the University the bus terminated in Keele Village. We stood up and Matthew photographed the inside of this bus.

The bus stop has been improved greatly since our last visit here. There is now a shelter and the road in the bus waiting area has been changed to block paving. We decided to cross the road to see if there was another bus due other than the returning 32627. We crossed the road and then found the stop on nextbuses.mobi for the stop stadtawg and we found there was #85 from Crewe to Hanley due at 12:45 in ten minutes. Incidentally, 3G on Vodafone didn't work here...The phone dropped into GPRS and took ages! After a short wait the appeared from in the distance, and we could see it was one of there MCW eVolutions and therefore it was going to be required. As the bus got closer we saw it was D&G 33.

We sat down near the back of this reasonably well filled bus. As we got on we picked up one of the new D&G timetable leaflets. As we rode into Newcastle we ad a quick read of the new timetable. From the 3rd of June D&G operate a knutsford town service. We went through the university and straight down the A525 to the edge of Newcastle. After going around the town we entered the bus station from the Southern end. pretty much everybody got off the bus, and a few people got on. The bus waited until 13:00 before departing, heading down Hartshill bank. The bus waited tie again in Stoke and left around 13:15 before heading onto Leek road and then passed the railway station. We headed up through Shelton and then into the bus station past the fire station and the library. when we arrived we waited for the bus to empty and then he got a picture inside this bus.

We got off and Matthew went to use the toilet. afterwards we decided to look for somewhere to eat. Since he new bus station opened we weren't sure if any of the cafe's in old old bus station were open. We knew that our favourite cafe Tony's had closed, but last time I had been the other cafe was still open. We saw Bakerbus 194 parked up in the bus station. Also parked up was required Wardle Transport 4896 parked up. It was 13:30 and we thought it might work te #61 but it hadn't moved by this point. We came out of the bus station and we saw Wardle Transport 1495 on driver shuttle duties.

We walked over to the old bus station and along the balcony. Matthew took a picture of the old bus station and then we came down off the balcony to discover that one had now closed too. We walked back and went to a burger and pizza place we saw as we went over. Matthew had a large burger and regular fries washed down with Coke. There were a few seats inside so we had our dinner there. Whilst we were the we could see in the distance all the route that travel down Bucknall New Road and the #6 buses. We saw Arriva Midlands 2356 on the #16 to leek. This bus is currently to loan to Wardle Transport. After eating the food we walked back to the bus station. Wardle Transport 4896 and Bakerbus 194 had both gone by the time we got back, so we decided to do the next #25 towards Newcastle. It came in and we saw it was required First Potteries 32639.

Whilst we waited to depart we saw Wardle Transport 2038 on the #350. We set off past the Hind Street layover where we saw wardle transport 4650 & 2963, Scraggs Blue Buses 56 and Bakerbus 217. We headed down through Shelton, past the railway station and into Stoke town centre via Leek Road. We stopped in stoke and the bus cut out. we sat in silence for around 2 minutes and thhen the bus was restarted again and we carried on up Hartshill Road into Newcastle. We got off the bus and Matthew visited the toilet. first Potteries 31518 still hadn't worked off anywhere and didn't look like it was going to any time soon. We had to decided on what bus we were going to do next and Matthew chose the #94 to Audley. Whist we waited for the bus we took a few pictures. One we saw was required First Potteries 60081.

D&G 21 rolled up to work the 15:15 to Audley and Matthew got a picture.

We got on the bus and sat down at the back. We set off towards Silverdale and through Park Site. We carried on through Miles Green and to Audley where the bus terminated. We then took a picture of the inside of this bus.

We sat down at the bus stop to wait for the next Newcastle bound bus. We had around 10 minutes to wait in theory for the next bus. As we had not been to Audley for a long time we did not know that the council offices was not the terminus of the #34 bus. Required First Potteries 60170 came around the corner. Matthew got a picture but the bus went straight past.

We decided to cross the road to see when the next bus was due the other way. We saw another bus approaching immediately. It was required First Potteries 60189. We decided to do this to the end and then back to Newcastle. It only took a few minutes to get to the terminus in Wereton. We asked the driver how long we had before the bus was due to set off back to Newcastle and he told us about 12 minutes. So we got off and took a picture of the bus in sunshine.

We sat down near the back and waited for the bus to depart. The engine had been switched off and it took 3 attempts to fire it back up again. The bus set off back through Audley and then in and out of Wood Lane. I called mum to ask if she could meet us in Newcastle around 17:00 ,which is how long I thought the bus would take. We carried on down through Chesteron and we went through the industrial estates and joined onto the A34 just north of Milehouse. We continued on into Newcastle past the First bus garage. Visible today as we went passed were 30033,34158,34288,40144 and 65728. We got to the bus station quicker than anticipated getting there just after 16:40. First Potteries 31518 had now disappeared form the bus station. Matthew went to the toilet and then we stood at the top of the bus station and took a few pictures. One of the buses we saw was Wardle Transport 2301 on a #41 service.

We stood at the bottom of the bus station barbecue that is where mum would arrive. We saw her sailing past so we walked up towards the top again. When she had parked up she called to say she was in the Ironmarket, so we walked around to her. We got in the car and we set off up George Street and onto Shelton New Road. We joined the A500 and then we did the A50 up to Longton so that we could have a look at what was parked up at Z Carz. There were 3 vehicle there. First in the row was Scania coach D104 XAN.

In the distance was X599 WDY. We went past the willow row compound which had no buses in it today and then we headed back to Blurton via Longton Hall Road. We got hoe around 17:20. For tea we had chicken and potatoes followed by cake. Matthew then chilled out on his computer until bedtime around 00:30...Mark

Today was a normal college day, but there was a surprise to be had later. Matthew got up around 07:30 and quickly got dressed and ready for college. The bus turned up and it we was unusually Wardle Transport 1321.

we got on bus went set off to Heron Cross and then onto the A50 to Longton. The bus then went up Anchor Road and through Adderley Green. The bus went along Dividy Road and then onto Twigg Street before cutting through to the A52 via Marychurch Road They then turned onto the A52 before turning into Newhouse Road. we got off college around 09:00. For dinner he had sausage and chips followed by lemon merringue pie. In the afternoon he visited Morrisons. They went down to the A52 and up limekiln bank to Hanley. They went around Hanley and then down to the A53 and onto festival Park. In Morrisons he bought a can of coke and a cake before returning to college. After a day at college he came out around 15:00 to discover that we Wardle Transport 1649 was going to take him home! we got on went down bus set off to the A52 and then headed towards Hanley, we passed First Potteries 31518 on a school bus turn. This was follwed by 34286 on another school bus turn. They turned at Dividy Road and travelled towards Adderley Green. They carried onto to the roundabout and then headed towards Longton down Anchor Road They went around Longton and then onto the A50. They did this to Heron cross before heading through Blurton and back Home. When he got back he asked mum to get his camera so he could get a picture we got off 1649. He took a picture of one of the grey and red patterned seats before taking a picture of the outside of the bus too.

I got home short time later, and then we went to get a MacDonalds from Trent Vale. The route was along the A5035 past the Hem Heath pub. We then Headed north along the A34.
