Trip to Joiners Square / Trent Vale 11-12-2015

Today Matthew was going to the pub for his tea, but not before he had been to his day service We also read an E-mail about the new C84 service which starts in January run by Routemaster Buses from Crewe to Chester. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Just before 09:00 his transport to his day service turned up and it was Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX.

We got on the bus and the bus set off onto the A5035. We went over the railway line into Trentham before turning at New Inn Lane. We turned into Pacific Drive and we picked up another service user before going back onto New Inn Lane. We returned along A5035 before turning left into Church Road and forwards onto Blurton Road and we carried on to Heron Cross. We turned right to go through the traffic lights and onto Heron Street. After crossing over the railway we turned left onto Christchurch Street before reaching our destination. In the morning Matthew went into the sensory and spent time using a computer. We went to fetch dinner from the chip shop. For dinner he had sausage chips and gravy from the chips shop followed by a toffee yoghurt. In the afternoon we went to the pub in City cabs minibus LL09 SSV.

We set off onto Glebedale Road and we turned right onto City Road. We turned sharp left and onto Victoria Road. At joiners Square we crossed over the roundabout and onto Lichfield Street. At the pub Matthew went to the toilet and had a drink of Coke. Highlight of the bus sightings were Stanways F639 SAY and First Potteries 63173 on a #6 to Meir.

When it was time to return to Fenton we were picked up by a City cabs taxi. We went down Lichfield Street and down to the roundabout. We went forwards onto Victoria Road and went to the top turning sharp right onto City Road. We turned left into Glebedale Road and to our destination. When it was time to home home we climbed aboard Shelton Care Group DV10 JCU.

We set off onto Christchurch Street and we turned right onto Station Bridge Road and Heron Street. In Heron Cross we went straight across onto Blurton Road and over the A50. We carried on into Blurton along Blurton Road and forward onto Church Road. We turned right onto Beaconsfield Road getting home just before 15:00. When Matthew got home he had toast and a can of Irn Bru whilst we waited for time before we went out. Today we decided to go on the 16:30 service towards Newcastle. We set off around 16:15 we walked to the stop all the way over on Magdalen Road. We stood at the stop and sure enough a few minutes later we saw dud First Potteries 60072.

We booked to Harpfields Road and we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off onto the A5035 and we turned right towards Trentham. We stopped outside Newstead Industrial estate and as the bus was empty in front of us Matthew took a picture inside First Potteries 60072.

The bus carried on over the railway line and into Trentham. We passed Scraggs coach 6626 VT before turning into New Inn Lane. We climbed the hill into Hanford and we passed First Potteries 53059 on a #21A to Trentham Gardens. We went onto Wilson Road and left onto Church Lane, passing First Potteries 53828 on the #21 to Trentham in the process. We joined the A34 and we went under the A500 in Trent Vale. After passing London Road we turned right into Harpfields Road and we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of First Potteries 60072 as it carried on towards Newcastle.

We walked onto the A34 and towards the pub. Part way along we turned to see a bus approaching. The bus passed us and we saw that it was First Potteries 65035.

We sat outside the pub for a short while but mum had already arrived! We met up with mum and Matthew had a brunch with bread and butter followed by toffee sponge pudding with ice cream. Whilst we ate highlights of the passing buses were Stanton's of Stoke YJ04 BXF, Global Travel T5 XLA and ABC Supreme minibus P881 RND. Service buses seen included First Potteries 65027 on the #10 to Stafford and First Potteries 61235 & 66304 on the #22 to Newcastle. After we had finished eating we went to the car and Matthew called uncle Dave to tell him we were on the way. We set off down the A34 and we went onto the Northbound A500. At Sideway we went Eastwards on the A50. We headed though Heron Cross and into Fenton. After picking uncle Dave up we went back up to Heron Cross and over the A50 into Blurton. We travelled through Blurton along Blurton Road and Church Road. We turned into Beaconsfield Drive and we got home just after 18:00. Matthew then chilled out on his computer until bedtime around 00:00... Mark

We set off onto Glebedale Road and straight onto Fountain Street. We turned left onto William Street and then left onto Manor Street. At the end of Manor Street we turned left onto Victoria Road and down to Joiners square. At the roundabout we went straight onto Lichfield Street and to the pub. When we got to the pub Matthew went to the toilet and then had a glass of Coke. Highlights of the bus sighting included First Potteries 63099 on a #6 to Hanley.

Matthew listened to the Jukebux which included Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin' Stevens. When it was time to go we climbed aboard Shelton Care Group DV10 JCU to go straight home. We went down Lichfield Street and forwards onto Victoria Road. At the top of Victoria Road we Continued on City Road up to the A50 Link Road. After going under the railway line we turned Right onto the A50 and then left onto Blurton Road. We travelled through Blurton and forwards onto Church Road before turning left into Beaconsfield Drive, getting home just after 14:30. As mum was busy today we were going to the pub with uncle Dave. When Matthew got home he had toast and orange whilst we waited for time before we went out. Today we decided to go on the 15:51 service towards Newcastle. We set off around 15:45 and we walked all the way over to the stop on Magdalen Road. As we got to the stop we saw Stanton's of Stoke WX55 HWZ going towards the A5035.

We stood at the bus stop and we let dud First Potteries 53830 go by, as it was on the #23A towards Hanley. A few minutes later we saw dud First Potteries 42894 round the corner on the #22 towards Newcastle.

We got on the bus and we brought a First Day ticket at £4 before sitting down towards the back of the bus. The bus set onto the A5035 and we turned right towards Trentham. We crossed over the railway into Trentham and we passed dud First Potteries 42554 on a #22 to Longton. We turned right into New Inn Lane and we travelled up the Hill into Hanford. As we went down Church Lane we passed First Potteries 53058 on a #21A to Trentham Gardens. We joined the A34 and we passed First Potteries 65033 on a #10 to Stafford. We crossed under the A500 and we went into Trent Vale. We turned right onto Harpfield Road we saw Stantons of Stoke WX55 HWZ. We got up and got of the bus and Matthew took another picture of First Potteries 42894 as it carried on towards Newcastle.

We walked back onto the A34 and down to the pub. On the way we saw First Potteries 65041 on a Hanley bound #10 service. As we weren't meeting mum we went straight into the pub today. Matthew had a brunch with bread and butter followed by toffee sponge pudding with ice cream. Whilst we ate highlights of the passing buses were Leons 197 going towards Newcastle and Stanton's of Stoke ONZ 1128 going Northwards, as well as Paul's of Stoke P482 HBA going Southwards. We also so what is probably the first appearance of required First Potteries Enviro300 67601 on the #22. This was followed shortly afterwards by First Potteries 43877 on the following Longton bound #22. Once we had finished eating, as we weren't being picked up by mum we went outside to catch a bus. We had just missed the #22 so we went onto London Road to catch the next #21 or #21A. We crossed the road and we stood in the bus shelter outside the takeaways to wait for the bus. A minute or so later we saw a Dart approaching. As it got closer we saw dud First Potteries 43876 on a #21A to Trentham Gardens.

We got on the bus and we flashed the First Day ticket to the driver before sitting down towards the back of the bus. As it was a #21A we were only doing this to The Man in Space. The bus set off onto the A34 and we crossed under the A500 into Hanford. We went up Church Lane and we turned right into Wilson Road. At the end of Wilson Road the bus emptied out and Matthew took a picture inside First Potteries 43876.

We turned left onto New Inn Lane and we went down the hill. When we got to The Man in Space we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of First Potteries 43876 as it carried on towards Trentham Gardens.

A this point the #22 wasn't due for another 18 minutes. Across the road we saw First Potteries 42894 doing the #22 towards Newcastle. A few minutes later we saw required First Potteries 67601 also going towards Newcastle running late. As we stilled had time we thought we could do the next #21 to the Trentham Hotel. A few minutes later we saw required First Potteries 53058 on the #21 to Trentham.

We got on the bus and we flashed the First Day to the driver and we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus was empty in front of us so Matthew took a picture inside First Potteries 53058.

We set off along New Inn Lane and we turned left onto the A5035. When we got to the Trentham Hotel we got up and got off the bus. By the time we got off the bus the next #22 was due. We expected it to be late due to the fact that we didn't pass anything until we got to Trentham. We though that if we were lucky we might get First Potteries 67601 coming back. Finally around 20 minutes late the bus turned up and it was dud First Potteries 60072.

We got on the bus and we flashed the First Day ticket to the driver for the final time today before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off along the A5035 and we crossed the railway line into Blurton. We passed the Newstead industrial estate and we turned left into Magdalen Road. We turned right into Finstock Avenue and left into Beaconsfield Drive were we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of First Potteries 60072 before it carried on towards Newcastle.

We walked all the way home and we got back around 18:30. We watch some t.v. and ate a few snacks. Mum returned around 21:00 and then Matthew chilled out on his computer until bedtime around 23:30... Mark

Today Matthew was going to the pub for his tea, but not before he had been out with his day service. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Just before 09:00 his transport to his day service turned up and it was Shelton Care Group DV10 JCU.

We set off onto the A5035 and we turned left to head towards Longton. We crossed over the A50 and onto The Strand. We then turned left onto Market Street and left onto Anchor Road. At the top of Anchor Road we turned left to go towards Bentilee. We picked up another service user and we continued through to Bucknall. We went up Limekiln Bank and onto the ring road around Hanley. We turned down Lichfield Street and right into Regents Road and forwards onto College Road. We passed the railway station ans went onto the A52 towards Stoke. At the end of the rod we went left onto City Road and then right onto Glebedale Road and to our destination. In the morning Matthew went into the sensory and spent time using a computer. We went to fetch dinner from the chip shop. For dinner he had sausage chips and gravy from the chips shop. After dinner we went to the pub. Today we went to the pub in Shelton Care Group DV10 JCU. In the yard was also Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX.

We got aboard the bus and we set off onto Glebedale Road before turning Right onto City Road. At the roundabout we went sahrp left onto Victoria Road. We headed down Victoria Road and at the Roundabout we went straight across onto Lichfield Street. We turned into the pub and parked in the car park. Already at the pub was Shelton Care Group BU05 EWX.

At the pub Matthew went to the toilet and had a drink of Coke. Whilst at the pub we saw a number of interesting buses including First Potteries 63178 on a #6A to Blythe Bridge.

Matthew listened to music on the Jukebox including Desperado by the Eagles. When it was time to go back to the day service we climbed aboard Shelton Care Group DV10 JCU. We got on the bus and We headed Palmeston Street and onto the A52 and we turned left onto Victoria Road. On Victoria Road we went to the top turning sharp right onto City Road. We turned left into Glebedale Road and to our destination. After a brief stop at the day centre, we got on the bus home which today was Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX. We set off onto Glebedale Road and forwards onto Station Bridge Road and Heron Street. In Heron Cross we went straight across onto Blurton Road and over the A50. We carried on into Blurton along Blurton Road and forward onto Church Road. We turned right onto Beaconsfield Road getting home just before 15:00. When Matthew got home he had toast and orangeade whilst we waited for time before we went out. Today we decided to go on the 16:30 service towards Newcastle. Around 16:20 we set off on foot to the stop all the way over on Magdalen Road. Whilst we waited at the stop we saw Jayjays Travel RX57 POV going into Blurton.

Today the bus was bang on time and it turned the corner and it was dud First Potteries Scania 60072.

We got on the bus and we booked to Harpfields Road before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus was nearly empty and we set off onto the A5035 passing First Potteries 60128 on the #22 to Longton. We crossed the railway line into Trentham and as someone got off the bus in front of us was empty, so Matthew took a picture inside First Potteries 60072.

We carried on and we turned into New Inn Lane. As we passed Pacific Drive we saw First Potteries 40009 on its way towards the Trentham Hotel. As The Lea was being resurfaced the buses had to go into Blurton to turn around for the journey back to Hanley. Further up New Inn Lane we passed First Potteries 53119 on another #21 to the Trentham Hotel. We turned into Hanford and the headed down Church Lane down to the A34. We went under the A500 and into Trent Vale, where we passed required First Potteries 42553 on the final #22 turn going towards Longton. The bus turned into Harpfields Road and we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of First Potteries 60072 as it carried on towards Newcastle.

We walked onto the A34 and we saw a Southbound #10 to Stafford approaching in the distance. As it got closer we saw that it was First Potteries Scania Omnicity 65033.

We got to the pub before mum, so we sat on the wall outside to wait for her. As we waited we saw Roseville Ford minibus NH56 JWM going South down the A34.

When mum arrived we went in the pub. Matthew had a brunch with bread and butter followed by toffee sponge pudding with ice cream. Whilst we ate highlights of the passing buses were ABC Supreme minibus N806 CRJ & P881 RND. We also saw CHH Coaches MX59 BLK going North down the A34. After we had finished eating we went to the car. We called uncle dave to tell hm we were on our way. We set off onto the Southbound A34 before turning Northwards onto the A500. At Sideway we went East on the A50 to Heron Cross. We dropped into Fenton and picked up uncle Dave before returning up to Heron Cross. We crossed over the A50 and we went through Blurton along Blurton Road. At the bottom of the hill we saw City Cabs SJ54 MWY at the BP petrol station. We climbed the hill and forwards onto Church Road before turning right into Beaconsfield Drive. We got home around 18:30. Matthew chilled out using the computer and helped mum making Christmas Cake. He also came to visit me and uncle Dave in the shed which is starting to take shape as a proper 'man cave'. Today Matthew was nearing the end of an 8 night stay in respite. We had arranged for his day service to take him our for the morning. Matthew got up around 08:30 and had toast for breakfast. The folks from his day service came to pick him up and they walked down the road to the stop outside the Hillberry where all three Bentilee bus services stop at. The first bus to turn up was a #26. As it got closer we saw that it was required First Potteries 63099.

we got on the bus and brought a First Potteries network day ticket at £5.50. We sat down near to the back of the bus and the bus set off along the A5272 towards Bucknall. At Bucknall we joined the A52 and we crossed Leek Road and up limekiln Bank. On the edge of Hanley we joined the clockwise ring road and went around to Lichfield Street and we stopped at the stop outside the bus station. We let the bus empty and Matthew took a picture inside First Potteries 63099.

Once off the bus we walked up Stafford Street to go to the bank. On the way we saw First Potteries 41512 on a Hanley bound #8A service.

Just before the toilets we saw Scraggs Blue Buses 36 on a #5 to Abbey Hulton.

We walked up to Tontine Square and used the cash machine and then we headed back down Stafford Street. When we got the bus station the bus to Stafford was in the bus station. It was required First Potteries 32630.

We got on the bus and we flashed the network day ticket to the driver before going upstairs. As the top deck was empty Matthew got a picture inside First Potteries 32630.

The bus set off out of the bus station and down towards Shelton. We joined Shelton New Road and headed up towards Newcastle. We went over the crossroads and at the roundabout we went straight across onto George Street. We headed down the hill and onto Barracks Road before entering Newcastle bus station. After a short wait at the bus station we carried on Southwards down the A34 past the hospital and through Trent Vale. We crossed under the A500 into Hanford and we continued South into Trentham and past Trentham Gardens. We carried on through the roadworks and through Tittensor before carrying on towards Stone. We left the A34 at Newcastle Road and ran into Stone town centre. After a quick stop at Granville square we went around the town on the one way system before crossing the A34 and into Walton. We went through the industrial estate before re-joining the A34 for the run down to Stafford. We went into town along Stone Road and Foregate Street before turning right into Chell Road where we got up and got off the bus. We walked through the car park and visited the toilets near to Broad Street. We walked through the Guildhall Shopping Centre and onto Market Square. We turned left onto Gaolgate Street and we walked up to the Butlers Bell pub were we had dinner. For dinner Matthew had burger and chips washed down with a glass of Coke. For afters Matthew had warm chocolate fudge cake with custard. After he had finished eating Matthew went to the toilet before they set off back to the bus stop to catch the bus. We walked up to the roundabout before turning left onto Chell Road. There were a few minutes before the bus back to Hanley was due, so we took a few bus pictures whilst we waited. we saw required Arriva Midlands 2375 on a #828 to Brereton.

This was followed by dud Arriva Midlands 2367 on a #1 to Baswich.

Matthew travelled on this bus from Oswestry to Whittingham on the #70 with mum and uncle Dave back in September 2009! We then saw dud Arriva Midlands 2292.

We had this bus from Cannock to Hednesford back in April 2014. We then saw required Arriva Midlands 2294 on a #11A Stafford town circular.

Shortly behind the Dart was required Arriva Midlands 4203 on a #75 to Cannock.

Eventually the bus back to Hanley made an appearance. It was unusually an older Scania, the very dud former Newcastle based First Potteries Scania 60072.

We had this bus on quite a few occasion on the #22 service! We got on the bus and we flashed the network day ticket to the driver before sitting down near to the back of the bus. The bus set off around town via the railway station and the bus station on Gaol Square. The bus set off Northwards up the A34 right the way up to the Roundabout South of Stone where we turned to go through the industrial estate at Walton. We turned right onto the B5026 and we crossed the A34 and onto the A520. We followed the bus around the one way system and we stopped at the main Northbound bus stop on Crown Street. The bus continued North up Newcastle Road and we re-joined the A34 by the Filleybrook BP service station. The bus went North up the A34 past Tittensor and Trentham. After travlling through hanford we crossed under the A500 into Trent vale and then past the hospital into Newcastle. After a brief stop in Newcastle bus station we joined Barracks Road and headed out of town along the one way system and George Street. We left Newcastle and joined Shelton New Road for the run into Hanley. We went passed on of the day centre's matthew attends and we went up Snow Hill into Hanley. The final run into Hanley was Broad Street, Marsh Street, Pall Mall and Bagnall Street before entering the bus station. Once off the bus Matthew went to the toilet. In the bus station we saw First Potteries 65027 on the #18 to Leek. We went outside to the Bentilee stops and we saw dud First Potteries 65026 on the #26 to Meir.

We got on the bus and they flashed the network day tickets to the driver for the final time today before sitting down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off out of the bus station onto Bethesda Street before we joined the anti-clockwise ring road. We went down Limekiln Bank and across Leek Road onto the A52. In Bucknall we turned right onto the A5272 and we ran up to Bentilee. The bus turned left onto Twigg Street and we got up and got off the bus. We walked back to the respite centre and Matthew said goodbye to the staff from the day centre. Matthew chilled out in his room until teatime when Matthew had sausages and chips followed by cake and custard. In the evening Matthew watched telly with the other service users and used his computer. He had a bath and then settle down to bed around 23:00... Mark

Today Matthew was going to the pub for his tea, but not before he had been out with his day service. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and blackcurrant juice for breakfast. Just before 09:00 his transport to his day service turned up and it was Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX.

We set off onto the A5035 and we headed through Dresden to Longton. after crossing the A50 we went along the Strand before heading onto Anchor Road via Market Street. At the top of Anchor Road we turned left onto Dividy Road. After picking up another service user we went onto the A52 at Bucknall. We followed the road around to the left and we went to Joiners Square. We turned left onto Victoria Road and we went to the top before turning Sharp right onto City Road. We turn left onto Glebedale Road and to our destination. In the morning Matthew went into the sensory and spent time using a computer. We went to fetch dinner from the chip shop. For dinner he had sausage chips and gravy from the chips shop. After dinner we went to the pub. Today we went to the pub in Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX. We set off onto Glebedale Road and the right onto City Road. We turned left onto Victoria Road and we headed down to the roundabout. At the roundabout we went to straight across onto Lichfield Street and to our destination. Matthew went to the toilet and had a drink of Coke. Highlights of the bus sightings included First Potteries 63096 on a #6 to Meir. Matthew to listened to musid on the jukebox until it was time to leave for the day centre aboard Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX. We went down Palmerston Street and onto the A52. we turned left onto Victoria Road. We went to the top of Victoria Road before turning sharp right onto City Road. We turned left onto Glebedale Road and to our destination. For the journey home we transferred onto Shelton Care Group DV10 JCU. We set off onto Christchurch Street an right onto Station Bridge Road and Heron Street. In Heron Cross we went straight across onto Blurton Road and over the A50. We carried on into Blurton along Blurton Road and forward onto Church Road. We turned right onto Beaconsfield Road and arrived home just before 15:00. Matthew had toast and a drink of dandelion & burdock whilst he waited for the time to go out and catch the bus. Uncle Dave was coming with us to the pub today. After the scrap man had collected one of the cars, we set off i the other car to go and fetch him. We went along Finstock Avenue and onto Beaconsfield Drive. We turned left onto Church Road and we went under the railway bridge and onto Blurton Road and we saw Anytime Airport PE11 RWY going towards Blurton. We crossed the A50 and we went into Heron Cross. We headed into Fenton and we picked up uncle Dave. We went back through Heron Cross and as Crossed the A50 we saw Lucky Seven PK08 GGE going towards Longton. We carried on through Blurton and we passed First Potteries 66838 on a #22 to Newcastle. We turned onto Beaconsfield Drive and we got home around 16:48. There wasn't time to get out of the car and onto the #22, so we went back into the house for 20 minutes or so. We set off to the stop on Magdalen Road around 17:15 and when we got to the stop we saw A2B Airports WF11 MOA heading into Blurton.

For most of the day the buses usually pass near to Magdalen Road. The timetable changes a little around 17:00 and the buses pass further into Blurton. As such we were able to see the Longton Bound bus first. It was First Potteries 60202 on the Longton Bound #22.

A few minutes later we saw dud First Potteries 60072 round the corner.

We got on the bus and we booked to Harpfield Road. We sat down towards the back of the bus and the bus set off onto the A5035. we crossed over the railway line into Trentham and we saw Free Spirits MK52 PXH parked up at the Trentham Hotel. We turned into New Inn Lane and we we went up into Hanford. We went down Church lane and we saw First Potteries 40155 on a #21 to the Trentham Hotel. As we joined the A34 we saw Stagecoach Megabus 50232 going Northwards as well as ABC Supreme N806 CRJ. We crossed under the A500 into Trent vale and we saw First Potteries 41522 on a #21B to Trentham Gardens. We turned right into Harpfields Road and we got up and got off the bus. Mum had been delayed an so we were going to eat without her. We walked to the pub and on the way we saw First Potteries 65038 on a Stafford bound #10 service.

We went into the pub and Matthew had a brunch with bread and butter followed by toffee sponge pudding with ice cream. Whilst we ate highlights of the passing buses were Stafford Coaches CNZ 3828 going North. We also saw ABC Supreme YX03 JVX on a Stafford bound hospital link service. After we had finished eating we sat on the wall to wait for mum to come and pick us up. Whilst we waited we saw ABC Supreme P881 RND going North towards the hospital.

Mum picked us up and we set off Southwards down the A34. We crossed under the A400 into Hanford and we continued South to Trentham along the A34. We joined the Longton bound A5035 and we did this up to Blurton. We had to drop something off in Finstock Avenue and we got home around 19:00.
