Trip to Newcastle / Stafford 20-09-2025

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going out on the bus. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had his medication. For breakfast Matthew had toast beans and egg washed down with orange juice. before Matthew went to the day centre he watched buses out of the window. whilst waiting for the time to go to the day centr. Matthew got ready to go to Newcastle. We went downstairs and we and we cut through onto City Road to wait a bus to Hanley. A few minutes later the bus appeared and it was First Potteries 63356 on a #11 to Newcastle. We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle before sitting down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off down City Road and we ran down the hill over the old railway line to Leek and onto the A52. We ran under the railway line and over the A500 and straight into Stoke town centre along Church Street. After a brief stop in Stoke we continued along church Street and forwards onto Hartshill Road. We ran up the hill and into Hartshill. We ran forwards onto George Street and we ran down the hill into Newcastle. We turned left at the roundabout onto Barracks Road and into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew got a picture of First Potteries 63356 before it returned towards Hanley on a #11 service.

Once off the bus Matthew visited the toilet. Afterwards we waited for a bus to Trentham. As it got closer we saw that it was First Potteries 35691 on a #101 to Stafford.

We got on the bus and we booked to Stafford before we went upstairs we sat down. We set off out of the bus station onto Barracks Road. We ran Southwards onto the A34 and we ran down through Trent Vale and into Hanford. We continued down through to Trentham and then we got onto the fast section of the A34. We ran through Tittensor to Darlaston past the Darlaston Inn which new KFC and a petrol station. We continued down the A34 to the North end of Stone. We Veered left onto Newcastle Road and we ran into Stone town centre. After going around the one-way system and onto Stafford Road. We crossed over the A34 near to the site of the new Lidl. We continued onto Eccleshall Road and we turned left onto Tilling Drive and we ran onto the industrial estate. We rejoined the A34 at the roundabout where the A51 goes Eastwards and we ran Southwards through the fast section on the A34 to the A513 roundabout. We ran the last couple of miles into town down the A34 onto Foregate Street and we turned right onto Chell Road. We got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus. As we waited to cross the road we saw Select Bus 15 on a #876 to Wolverhampton.

Once off the bus we walked Westwards along Chell Road and we turned right onto Gaolgate Street and past the Market Square. We stopped at Greggs on Greengate Street and Matthew had a sausage roll and and a bottle of Coke. Once we had finished in the shop we walked back to the square and we ate the sausage roll and drank the Coke. Once we had finished eating and drinking we walked through the shopping centre and back onto St Mary's Place and we turned left onto Earl Street and left onto Tenterbanks and we turned right onto Victoria Road. We turned left onto Station Road. We waited for a bus back to Stone. A short time later we saw Arriva Midlands 3742 on a #5 to Telford. A short time later the bus arrived on stand. We saw it was First Potteries 35684 on a #101 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off along Station Road and at the end we turned left onto the A518. We ran around the South end of town and over the river onto Cope Street. We ran up Eastgate and along North Walls and into the Gaol Square bus station. We left the bus station onto the A34 and we ran Northwards to the edge of town. Due to roadworks on the A34 roundabout we turned left onto the M6 link road and at the first roundabout we did a 180' turned and rejoined the A34. We continued up the fast section of the A34 to the edge of Stone and then we turned left onto the industrial estate. We ran around the estate and onto Tiling Drive. We turned right onto Eccleshall Road and we crossed the A34 onto Stafford Road. We turned left onto Crown Street and we stopped at the main stop in Stone. We ran North up Newcastle Road and we re-joined the Northbound A34. We ran Morth through Meaford and Tittensor and up into Trentham. We continued North through Hanford and Trent Vale and we were overtaken by Congleton Partnership WA66 ECV. We past the City General hospital before going into Newcastle. We turned right onto bus station where we got up and got off the bus. We walked out of the bus station and we waited for a bus back towards Fenton. A few minutes later the bus appeared and it was First Potteries 67149 on a #11 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton. The bus was empty, so Matthew took a picture inside First Potteries 67149 before we sat down towards the back of the bus.

We set off out of the bus station and onto Barracks Road. We ran up to the Jubilee roundabout. We ran onto the A53 and around the one-way system onto the A52. We ran up George Street into Hartshill and we ran down the hill into Stoke town centre. After a brief stop we continued along Church Street out of Stoke and over the A500. We ran under the railway line and we continued onto City Road. At the top of the hill we got up and got off the bus. We crossed over City Road. We turned left onto Christchurch Street. We turned right onto Temple Street and we returned to the residential unit. Matthew went upstiars to his room to chill out. Matthew was feeling unwell so we called for advice. Matthew helped staff to empty the bins. For tea Matthew had pizza and a can of Coke followed by chocolate fudge cake. Matthew had a medical incident and became unwell so had to go to the hospital by Ambulance. He came downstairs and got in the Ambulance. We set off along Temple Street and we turned right onto Smithpool Road. We turned left onto City Road and we ran down into Stoke. We ran around the one-way system and we turned left onto London Road. We turned right onto Penkhull New Road and we ran through Penkhull onto Newcastle Lane. We turned right onto Hilton Road and left into the hospital grounds. Matthew waited in the Ambulance waiting area for a couple of hours. I came to meet him in the Ambulance and a short time later he went into the hospital. Matthew used one of the carers laptops to write some of the Blog. He had a canula and some blood taken and then had to wait for the results to see what was going to happen. He had to waiy for a specialist doctor to see him to maake a decision on what was going to happen. He was moved to an A and E bay around midnight and the doctor came to see him around 23:00. It was decided that he needed to stay in for a while to be observed and Matthew went to sleep around 00:30. When we had finished we returned to the residential unit. we returned to Fenton it was ERS Medical FJ22 FYX. We got in the taxi and we set off out of the hospital and we crossed Hilton Road onto Ashlands Road. We ran forwards onto Thornburrow Drive and we turned left onto Queens Road. We turned right onto the A52 and we ran through Hartshill into Stoke. We turned left onto Shelton Old Road and we joined the Southbound A500. We ran up to the next junction we turned left onto City Road and right into Smithpool Road. We turned left onto Temple Street past the new building under construction and back to the residential unit. Matthew went back to the room and went on his computer. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 02:00... Mark.

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going on the bus later on. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast for breakfast. before Matthew went to the day centre he watched buses out of the window. whilst waiting for the time to go to the day centre, we saw Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX. When it was time to go out we went downstairs and onto Temple Street. We turned left onto Christchurch Street. We waited for the bus to Hanley. A short time later we saw First Potteries 67157 on a #23 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off along Christchurch Street. We turned left onto City Road and we joined the A52 to go under the railway line and over the A500. We continued onto Church Street and into the centre of Stoke. After a brief stop we continued around the one-way system onto Elenora Steet and right onto Copeland street. We turned left onto Glebe Street and we went under the railway line before turning left onto Station Road. We went past the railway station ans we turned right onto College Road. After running the hill through Shelton we continued onto Cleveland Road and forwards onto Regent Road. We turned left onto Lower Bethesda Street and we crossed over the ring road onto Bethesda Street before we turned right onto John Street where we got up and got off the bus. We were considering what bus to do next and we saw First Potteries 32639 on a #25 to Keele.

Whilst we waited we saw First Potteries 65029 on a #7A to Biddulph. A short time later we saw First Potteries 32633 on a #25 to Keele.

We got on the bus and we booked to Stoke. The lower deck was empty, so Matthew took a picture inside First Potteries 32633.

We set off out of bus station and onto John Street. We turned left onto Bethesda Street and we crossed over the ring road onto Lower Bethesda Street. We turned right onto Cleveland Road and we continued forwards onto College Road. We turned left onto Station Road and we past the railway station. We ran forwards onto the A52 and we ran alongside the railway line before turning right onto City Road. We crossed over the A500 and we ran into Stoke centre along Church Street and past the former Discount Fashion Direct. We went out of the other side of Stoke and up Hartshill Road into Hartshill. We turned left into The Avenue and we ran down to Hilton Road and we turned right into the hospital. We ran through the hospital and we turned right onto the A34. We ran up to Newcastle and we turned right onto Barracks Road. The bus veered left into the bus station and we got up and got off the bus. Once we got off the bus. We walked out of the bus station onto Castle Walk and we visited Poundland. When we had finished shopping we walked up Castle Walk and we turned right onto Ironmarket and we stopped at the pub. For dinner Matthew had a mixed grill washed down with a glass of Coke. For afters Matthew had a slice of chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. Once we had finished eating we set off onto Ironmarket and we turned left onto Castle Walk. We continued down to the bus station and saw First Potteries 44511 on a #22 to Longton.

We considered whether to do the next #25. We saw saw First Potteries 63102 on a #4 to Hanley.

A short time leter the bus appeared and it was First Potteries 32650 on the #25 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before we went upstairs and sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off out of the bus station onto barracks Road and we ran down onto the Southbound A34 where we saw ERS Medical FJ22 FYX. We turned left and we traveled through the hospital we saw First Potteries 67156 on a #22 to Newcastle. We came out of the hospital and turned left onto Hilton Road. We ran into Hartshill and we turned right onto the A52. We continued onto Albany Road and we turned right onto The Avenue. At the end of the road we turned right onto the A52 and we ran through Hartshill and down the hill into Stoke town centre. We went forwards onto and along Church Street. After a brief stop we continued along the A52, over the A500 and under the railway line. We followed the A52 to the left and we ran alongside the railway and onto Station Road. We passed the railway station and we turned right onto College Road and we saw Stoke-on-Trent College DG71 TGZ. We ran up the hill through Shelton and we followed the road to the right onto Cleveland Road and Regent Road. We turned left onto Lower Bethesda Street and we crossed over the ring road continuing onto Bethesda Street. We turned right onto John Street and into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we walkd down to the bottom of the bus station to see what we could see. We waited for a bus back to Fenton. On the ring road was white minibus CT18 BJU heading Northwards. A short time later the bus arrived on stand. We saw it was First Potteries 67152 on a #23 to Newstead.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before we sat down. We set off onto John Street and we turned left onto Bethesda Street. We crossed over the ring road and we ran down onto Regent Road and forwards onto Cleveland Road. We ran down though Shelton along College Road. We turned right onto Avenue Road and left onto Stoke Road. We ran down the hill and we turned left onto Station Road and past the railway station. We turned right onto Glebe Street and under the railway line an we ran around the one-way system in Stoke and stopped by Stoke Minster. We turned left onto Church Street and we crossed the A500 and we ran under the railway line. After climbing up the hill into Fenton we turned right into Christchurch Street where we got up and got off the bus. We then walked back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to his room to chill out and watch buses out of the window. For tea Matthew had chicken nuggets and chips. We went downstairs to the taxi and we set off onto Temple Street. We turned right onto Smithpool Road and left onto City Road. We ran down the hil into stoke and forwards onto the A52 and we ran alongside the railway line. We passed near to the railway station and we turned right onto College Road. We ran to the top and we continued onto Cleveland Road and forwards onto Regent Road. At the end we turned right onto Lichfield Street and we joined the anti-clockwise ring road. We joined town road and we crossed over the ring-road and headed out of town towards Birches Head. We joinmed the A5272 and we travelled Northwards through Sneyd Green. We turned right onto Milton Road and into the pub car park. Matthew went to the toilet and then had a glass of Coke. When we returned to the car. We set off along the A5272 and we ran into Hanley. We ran around the clockwise ring road and we ran around to Botteslow Street and we hit traffic again. We turned left onto Botteslow Street and we ran down to the A52. We turned right and we ran towards Joiners Square. At the roundabout we went left onto Victoria Road and we ran up the hill into Fenton. At the roundabout we turned sharp right onto City Road and we ran down to Smithpool Road where we turned left. We turned left onto Temple Street and we returned to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to his room to chill out. Matthew spent time in his room watching television and using his computer. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.
