Trip to Fenton / Longton 12-07-2016

Today Matthew was in respite and he was going to his day service. They are still doing refurbishment work in the respite building. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast for his breakfast. Whilst waiting for the bus to turn up Matthew took a few pictures. We saw Stanton's of Stoke Mercedes minibus CN09 CJE.

We also saw First Potteries 63097 on a #26 to Hanley.

A few minutes later we saw Jayjay's Travel minibus YM61 PUA leaving the car park.

After that Matthew transport for the journey to his day service arrived. It was Shelton Care Group DV10 JCU.

As we got on the bus we saw Stanway's coach BIG 7013 go past on the main road. We set off onto Dividy Road and we ran down the hill towards Bucknall, where we joined the A52. We followed the road to the left and we ran up to Joiners Square. At the roundabout we turned left and we ran up Victoria Road to the top. At the roundabout we turned sharp right onto City Road and then left onto Glebedale Road and to our destination. In the morning Matthew spent time in the sensory room and on the computers. For dinner he had cheese oatcakes followed by a Manchester Tart. In the afternoon Matthew went swimming. We set off on foot onto Christchurch Street and right onto Temple Street. We walked between Travers Court and Jack Ashley Court onto City Road and we walked over the old Stoke to Leek railway line before turning right onto the private road where the baths are situated. At the bath Matthew went to the toilet and then went swimming. After we had finished we walked back along the private road onto City Road. We turned right onto Smithpool Road and then left onto Temple Street. At the end of Temple Street we turned right onto Christchurch Street and to our destination. When it was time to go Matthew climbed aboard Shelton Care Group DV10 JCU for the journey back to respite. We got on the bus and the bus set off onto Glebedale Road. We turned right onto City Road and right again onto the A50 Link Road. We took the A50 to Heron Cross A and we turned left onto Blurton Road, We ran through Blurton and forwards onto Church Road. At the end of Church Road We turned right onto Beaconsfield Road and left on to Finstock Avenue and forward onto the A5035. We headed over the railway line into Trentham and we turned right onto New Inn Lane. After dropping of a service user we got back onto the New Inn Lane and back onto the A5035. We traveled through Hem Heath and Dresden and we up into Longton. We crossed the A50 and we turned right onto Chadwick Street. We crossed over Uttoxeter Road onto Bridgewood Street and we went under the railway line and at the end we turned left onto Forrister Street. We turned right onto Anchor Road and we ran up the hill into Adderley Green. At the roundabout we turned left onto the A5272 and we ran through on Dividy Road and to our destination. Whilst waiting for tea Matthew went up to his room. We saw First Potteries 63175 on a #26 to Hanley.

For tea Matthew had jacket potato with beans followed by Apricot cake and cream with chocolate hundreds & thousands. Afterwards we went out shopping in Lidl in Longton. We set off onto Dividy Road and we ran up to Adderley Green where we turned right onto Anchor Road. We ran down the hill and we went around the one way system onto the strand and it the car park. In the shop Matthew brought some cherry Bakewells. when we had finished shopping we got back onto the strand and we ran around the one way system onto Market Street and Anchor Road. We ran under the railway line up the hill to Adderley Green and we turned left onto the A5272. We ran through on Dividy Road and to our destination. Back in the building Matthew watched television and went outside on a bouncy castle. Later on Matthew had a bath. For supper Matthew had toast before going to bed around 23:00... Mark
