Today we decided to re-visit Bradford for the weekend. This was the first weekend away of thr year. We did no research other than to check the weather which was for a cold grey day with some rain. Matthew got up around 10:00 and had toast and apple juice for breakfast. We set off just before 12:00 through Blurton and onto Beaconsfield Drive. We turned left onto Church Road and at the roundabout we veered left onto Blurton Road. We ran through Blurton and into Heron Cross and over the A50. At Heron Cross lights we turned left onto Grove Road. We ran forwards onto Wheildon Road and we picked up uncle Dave. Once we had picked up uncle Dave, we continued down Wheildon Road and we joined the Northbound A500. As we headeded Northwards we saw TNS YN66 WTA, Ellisons YT72 GOP, Lucky Seven SJ18 OZO, Thandi L6 BMS, Ashcroft's K14 PSV, S.A.S Travel HL19 RCF and taxi minibus SF66 FHS. We headed to junction 16 and we joined the Northbound M6. Seen on the M6 were an unidentified Hamish Gordon coach, grey minibus DK22 ODP, Selwyns (NX) BX16 CKF(#121) & Llew Jones LJ72 ???. We travelled up to Junction 21A and we joined the Eastbound M62. We ran forwards onto the M60 around the North side of Manchester before continuing along the M62. At junction 26 we joined the Northbound M606. We came off the M606 t junction 2 ans we turned right onto Merrydale Road, We turned left onto Wharfdale Road. We turned right onto Rockhill Lane and left onto Bierley Lane. At the roundabout we turned right onto the A6177 and left onto the A650. We ran into the city centre and we turned left onto Croft Street. We continued onto Senior Way and we turned right onto Little Horton Lane. We ran forwards onto the A6181 and we followed the road to the left. We turned right onto Barry Street and left onto Westgate. We missed our tirn so we ran uo to a roundnabout before coming back and turning right onto Godwin Street. We turned left onto Bridge Street and we stopped at a parking space and put on a parking ticket. When we had parked up we walked down Bridge Street and we walkd around the town hall before coming back around to Cenrenary Square and the pub. We went into Wetherspoons and we went upstairs to the toilet. We came back down and sat with uncle Dave. Matthew had a burger and chips washed down with a glass of Coke. When we had finished eating we said goodbye to um and we went out to catch a bus. We walked back onto Bridge Street and we saw First West Yorkshire 37504 on a #617 to Allerton.

We crossed the road and we saw a bus pull up on the stop in front of us. We saw it was First West Yorkshire 37078 on a #641 to Buttershaw.

We got on the bus and we bough WY day tickets at £4.50 each before we went upstairs and sat down. We set off along Bridge street and we turned right into Hall Ings. We turned left onto Nelson Street and we saw Flixbus FX42 parked up. We turned right onto Croft Street and we ran forwards onto Senior Way, We turned left onto Little Horton Lane and we ran out of town. We continued onto Saint Enoch's Road and we ran forwards onto Wibsey Park Avenue. We veered right onto Reevy Road and forwards onto Reevy Road West. We ran through Buttershaw and just before the end of the road the bus terminated, so we got up and got off the bus. We got off the bus and Matthew took another picture of First West Yorkshire 37078 before it returned North on a #640 to Fine Lane Ends.

We crossed over the road and we saw First West Yorkshire 69315 on layover in between runs on a #645.

We looked to see which bus was going back towards Bradford first and it was the #645 service. We crossed over Coopers Lane and we waited for the bus. Whilst we waited we saw Horizon Healthcare Homes LT63 VVU go past.

A short time later the bus came around the roundabout and onto the stop. As expected we saw it was First West Yorkshire 69315. We placed the WY day ticket on the scanner. As the bus was empty Matthew took a picture inside of First West Yorkshire 69315 before we sat down towards the back of the bus.

The bus set off Northwards up Cooper Lane. We turned right onto Mandale Road and right onto the B6380. We crossed the roundabout in Wibsey Fair Road. We ran forwards onto High Street and we ran forwards onto Odsall Road. At Odsall Top we turned left onto the A641. We ran along the busway and back onto the road and along the busway again before running into town. We crossed over Croft Street and we turned right onto the A6181. We pulled up at the small Hall Ings bus station and we got up and got off the bus. QWe waited for the next bus at the stop which was a #640 to Five Lane Ends. A short time later we saw the bus approaching. As it go closer we saw it was First West Yorkshire 35216 on a #641 to Five Lane Ends.

We got on the bus and we placed the WY day ticket under the scanner before we went upstairs and sat down. The bus set off along Hall Ings and we turned left onto Bridge Street. We turned right onto Market Street as we travelled along we passed Transdev 215 on a A2 Airport Flyer. We ran forwards onto Lower Kirkgate. We turned left onto Bolton Road and we ran up the hill and out of town. We went under the A650 and we continued Northwards out of town. We followed the road to the right and we crossed the A6177. We crossed Idle Road and we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew took anothr picture of First West Yorkshire 35216 as it continued towards Five Lane Ends.

Once off the bus we crossed over the road and we headed to the bus stop near to Eccleshill Library. We waited for a bus back to Bradford. A few minutes later the bus appeared. As uit got closer we saw it was First West Yorkshire 37078 on a #640 to Buttershaw again.

We got on the bus and we placed the WY Day Tickets under the scanner before we went upstairs and sat down. The bus set off along Bolton Road and we crossed over the A6177 and ran down the hill and into Bradford. We turned right onto Lower Kirkgate. We turnmed left onto Market Street and left onto Bridge Street where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we headed up Bridge Street to the stop. We just missed a #620, so we decided to cross over the road and got to Tesco Direct. We bought a bottle of Coke and a mint aero as well as millionaires shoertbread and a pack of Bakewell Slices. We crossed back over to the bus stop and Matthew had a mkint Aero. He also had a couple of Bakewell Slices. Whilst we waited for our bus we saw Transdev Keighley 1814 on a #662 to Keighley. A short time later the bus appeared. We saw it was First West Yorkshire 69570 on a #620 to Bierley.

We got on the bus and we placed the WY Daysaver ticket on the scanner for the final time today before sitting down towards the back of the bus. I called mum to say that we were on the way and we arranged to meet at the bus stop. We set off along Bridge Street past the Interchange which is currently closed for repairs. We turned left onto Croft Street and we turned right onto the Southbound A650. We travelled for around a mile or so before turning right onto New Hey Road. We turned right onto Brassey Road and left onto Paley Road. We turned left onto Bowling Hall Road and we ran up the hill. We turned left onto the A6177 and we wen to the roundabout before turning 180' and heading West. At the roundabout we turned left onto Bierley Lane and we ran down to the bottom of the lane where we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of First West Yorkshire 69570 befopre it returned Northwards to Bradford.

We waited for around 5 minutes and mum appeared to pick us up. We got in the car and we headed down Bierley Lane. We turned right onto Rockhill Lane and left onto Wharfdale Road. We returned to the hotel and we went up to the room to Chill out. Matthew had ham sandwiches and a scotch egg as well as a Kit Kat. He washed this down with a glass of Cherry Coke. We did the blog and chilled out in the room until bedtime around 00:00... Mark

Today was the first day of a weekend break in Yorkshire. Matthew was also returning to Blurton later in the weekend. Matthew got up around 08:00 and toast and orange juice for breakfast. In the Morning Matthew went to get a new pair of glasses. We set off downstairs on foot to the bus stop. We went onto Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We waited for a bus towards Hanley. A short time later we saw the bus approaching. It was First Potteries 67154 on a #23 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off along Christchurch Street. We turned left onto City Road. and we joined the A52 to go under the railway line and over the A500. We continued onto Church Street and into the centre of Stoke. After a brief stop we continued around the one-way system onto Elenora Steet and right onto Copeland street. We turned left onto Glebe Street and we went under the railway line before turning left onto Station Road. We went past the railway station and and turned right. We ran up Stoke Road and we turned right onto Avenue Road. At the roundabout we turned left onto College Road. After running the hill through Shelton we continued onto Cleveland Road and forwards onto Regent Road. We turned left onto Lower Bethesda Street and we crossed over the ring road onto Bethesda Street before we turned right onto John Street. Once in the bus station we got up and got off the bus. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards we saw First Potteries 63358 on a #7A to Biddulph. A short time later the bus came on stand. We saw it was First Pottereies 44511 on a #6A to Blythe Bridge.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station onto John Street and we turned left onto Bethesda Street. We turned left onto the ring road and we turned right onto Lichfield Street and we ran down the hill to Joiners Square. We crossed the roundabout onto Victoria Road. and we ran up the hill into Fenton. At the top of the hill we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we set off on foot up Victoria Road and we went sharp right onto City Road. We turned left onto Smithpool Road. We stopped at the chip shop and we picked up some dinner. We set off on foot alog Smithpool Road and we turned right onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. We went upstairs and Matthew had sausage chips and gravy for dinner washed down with a can of Cherry Coke. Around 13:00 we came to pick Matthew up. We got in the car and we set off onto Temple Street. We turned right onto Smithpool Road and we turned left onto City Road. We ran forwards ontoChurch Street and we we around the one-way system. We turned left onto London Road and we stopped at Sainsbury's to put diesel in the car. Once we had filled up with petrol we set off onto London Road and we continued onto the one-way system. We turned left onto Church Street and we ran forwards onto Hartshill Road. We turned left onto The Avenue and right onto Parkstone Avenue. We turned left onto Occupation Street and we stopped at Grandma's house. Matthew had a can of Irn Bru and 2 rounds of toast. Matthew chilled out and used grandma's computer. Around 14:30 we set off to pick up uncle Dave on the way to Bradford. We got in the car and we set off onto Occupation Street. We turned right onto Parkstone Avenue and left onto The Avenue. We turned right onto the A52 and we continued down into Stoke and around the one-way system. We crossed over the A500 and we turned right onto Whieldon Road. We stopped to pick up uncle Dave and we set off back onto Wheildon Road and onto the Northbound A500. We headed up to the M6. Seen on the A500 was white coach YN06 CJF. We joined the Northbound M6 and progress was slow due to an earlier incident and Friday afternoon traffic. On the M6 we saw Travelling up the M6 we saw Hills coaches BU18 YNP, an unidentified Ava Coach coach, Megabus 54263, taxi minibus ND67 CYU 3 Shearings coaches, a Barnes coach, Baker Dolphin gold coach. We ran up to junction 21A and we joined the Eastbound M62. We joined the clockwise M60 and we ran forwards onto the Eastbound M62 and Seen on the M62 was taxi minibus PO67 ECE At junction 26 we joined the M606. Seen on the M606 was Acklams YX72 LVC. We turned right onto Merrydale Road and left onto Roydsdale Way and we parked up at the hotel. We checked into the hotel and we headed up to our rooms. We set up the computer and put battreies on charge, and we had a snack and a drink. Matthew had a pack of Frazzles and a cup of Cherry Coke. Just after 17:00 we said goodbye to mum and we headed onto Roydsdale Way. We turned right onto Merrydale Road and we saw TLC 2482 on a #606 to Bradford stopped. We crossed over the road but we didn't get to the bus quick enough before it pulled off. We walked forwards onto NCN route 66 and we came out onto Rockhill Lane. We turned left onto Bierley Lane and we stopped at the stop by the turning circle. A short time later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was First West Yorkshire 69473 on a #620 to Heaton.

We got on the bus and we brought WY Daysaver tickets at £4.50 each before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off along Brierley lane and we turned right into Shetcliffe Lane and we turned left onto Ferrand Avenue. We turned left onto Burnham Avenue and we ran up to the A6177. We headed North Eastwards and at the roundabout we joined the Northbound A650. We turned left onto Croft Street and we turned back on ourselves and under Croft Street into Bradford Interchange where we got up and got off the bus. We had a look around to see what we might catch. We went to the West end of the Interchange to see what was around. We saw First West Yorkshire 37088 on a #682 to Halifax.

We went in the bus station and we had decided that we wuld do one of the older First double deckers. It just happened to be that it was First West Yorkshire 37088 which had done a lap of the interchange and came on stand. We got on the bus and we placed the WY Daysaver ticket on the scanner before going upstairs and sitting down. We set off out of the interchange and onto Croft Street. We Crossed over the A641 on Senior Way and we turned left onto Little Horton Lane. We ran past the Hospital and we turned left onto Thornton Lane and we ran down to the A6177. We headed Eastwards before turning right onto the Southbound A641. We ran down to Odsal and at the roundabout we turned right onto Halifax Road where we got up and got off the bus. Across the road was KFC, and Matthew hadn't eaten for a while, so we decided to go across to KFC and sahre a boneless box meal. We had chicken popcorn, chicken strips, fries and gravy which Matthew washed down with a cup of Coke. When we had finished eating, Matthew went to the toilet before we went outside. We crossed over the B6380 and we saw a First double decker on the #645 to Greengates. We walked swiftly down the on ramp of the A641 to the bus stop expecting the #645 to be next. As soon as we got to the stop we saw a different double decker approaching. As it got closer we saw it was First West Yorkshire 37095 on a #682 to Bradford.

We got on the bus and we presented the WY Daysaver tickets under the scanner before we went upstairs and sat down. We set off Northwards up the A642 and we ran onto the guided busway. We crossed over the ring road and we continued into town along the guided busway. We turned right int Croft Street and we turned left onto Bridge Street and past the railway station. We turned into the Interchange and we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus, a quick check of the display board told up that we had 26 minutes until the next #621 to Bierley. We went to the end of the Interchange and we watch buses for a while. We saw First West Yorkshire 37364 on a #576 to Halifax.

A shotr time later we saw new arrival First West Yorkshire 36311 on a #576 to Halifax.

We went back inside the Interchange and we sat down for a short time to wait for our bus. A short time later it arrived on stand. It was First West Yorkshire 69568 on a #621 to Bierley.

We got on the bus and we placed the WY Daysaver ticket on the scanner for the final time today before sitting down towards the back of the bus. I called mum to say that we were on the way and we arranged to meet at the chip shop. We set off out of the interchange and we turned right onto Bridge Street. We turnd left onto Croft Street and we turned right onto the Southbound A650. We travelled for around a mile or so before turning right onto New Hey Road. We turned right onto Brassey Road and left onto Paley Road. We turned left onto Bowling Hall Road and we ran up the hill. We turned left onto the A6177 and we wen to the roundabout before turning 180' and heading West. At the roundabout we turned left onto Bierley Lane and we ran to the turning cicle at the bottom where we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of First West Yorkshire 69568 before it returned North towards Heaton.

We sat on the wall and we waited for mum to come down the lane from Asda. When mum arrived, We jumped into the car. We set off down Bierley Lane and we turned right onto Rockhill Lane. We turned left onto Wharfdale Road. We turned right onto Merrydale Road and left onto Roydsdale Way and we parked up at the hotel. We went upstairs and we had ham and cheese sandwiches, an egg custard and a kitkat washed down with a cup of Cherry Coke. We wrote e-mails and did some of the Blog. We chilled out in the room watching televisions before going to bed around 23:00... Mark

Today we were in Bradford on the second and final day of our weekend break in West Yorkshire. Matthew woke up just after 09:00 and had a quick shower before we went downstairs to the restaurant for breakfast. He had an English breakfast washed down with a couple of glasses of orange juice. We went back upstairs to finish packing and we when we were ready we said goodbye to mum and we went downstairs. WE put put some of our belongings in the car and we set off on foot to the bus stop in Bierley. We left the hotel and we set off along Roydsdale Way. We turned right onto Merrydale Road and at the bend in the road we went forwards onto NCN route 66. We joined Rockhill Lane and we turned left onto Bierley Lane. We stopped at the stop at the turning circle and we waited for the next bus into Bradford. As short time later we saw First West Yorkshire 69575 on a #620 to Heaton.

We got on the bus and we booked WY Daysaver tickets at £4.50 each before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off up Bierley Lane and we turned right onto Shetcliffe Lane. We ran the last 1/2 mile or so into town and we ran forwards onto Bridge Street before turning left into the interchange. We got up and got off the bus and we had a look around to see what was in the interchange. We had already decided that we would go to Halifax today. We looked on the board and we saw that there was a bus due to depart in 3 minutes. It was already on stand and we saw it was First West Yorkshire 37505 on a #576 to Halifax.

We got on the bus placed the WY Daysaver tickets under the scanner before we went upstairs and sat down. A couple of minutes later the bus set off out of the interchnage and we turned onto Croft Street. We turned right onto the Northbound A641 and we joined the clockwise ring road. We turned left onto Little Horton Lane and we ran past the ice rink. We turned right right onto Chester Street. We ran forwards onto Great Horton Road and we heade out of town. We ran through Shearbridge and forwards onto the A6177. We continued onto the A647 and into Great Horton. We continued through Horton Bank Top and Old Dolphin. The bus paused in Queensbury opposite the opposite the war memorial and we ran through Amblet Thorn. As we ran down down the hill towards Halifax we had stunninf views over the Valley to the North West. We continued Southwards descending through Boothtown and we reached the edge of Halifax. We crossed the North Bridge and we continued onto Northgate before turning left into the temporary bus station. The bus station is currently being re-built. Once off the bus we had a look around. On layer in the bus station was First West Yorkshire 69586.

We decide to head into town past the new bus station and along Market Street to see what we catch. As we walked along Market Street we saw Transdev Team Pennine 202 on a #21 to Highroad Well.

We continued through the town centre and we turned right onto Horton Street. In Horton Street were some bus stops and a few buses parked up. We saw Transdev Team Pennine 185 parked up between service.

Behind that was Transdev Team Pennine 173 which was now displaying #562 to Ripponden.

We decided to do this bus so we got on and we placed the WY Daysaver ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off along Horton Street and turned right onto Market Street. We headed onto the Southbound A629. We ran past the First Halifax depot and we headed out of town. We ran down the hill into the valley and we ran through some major roadworks where they are widening the road. I had looked on the bustimes.org site and once the bus left Greetland it went cross coutry towards Sowerby Bridge and we would be on the bus for at least an hour. I decided to get off the bus in the West Vale area of Greetland as there were a lot of bus stops and buses going in all manner of directions. We ran forwards onto Stainland and under the railway line. We veered to the right before turning right onto the B6113 where we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of Transdev Team Pennine 173 as it carried on towards Ripponden.

Once off the bus we decided to get something to eat. There was a chip shop across the road so we brough a portion of chips and a large sausage. It came to £5 and this is quite possibly the most expensive chips and sausage we have ever brought. We ate the chips and Matthew had the sausage. Afterwards we walked up to the Co-op to get a drink. Matthew had a can of Coke. We walked back to the bench and we sat down to have the drinks. Whilst we were sat there we saw Transdev Team Pennine 177 on a #343 Huddersfield.

When we had finished our drinks we decided to head up to stop B to catch something back towards Halifax. We headed up to the stop and Matthew wanted to sit on the stone wall. But we advised his against this as there was a 7ft drop on the other side down into the car park. We waited a few minutes and the bus coming up the B6112. As it got closer we saw it was First West Yorkshire 37696 on a #503 to Halifax.

We got on the bus and we placed the WY Daysaver ticket under the scanner before we went upstairs. The top deck was full and there is no standing on the top deck, so we went back downstairs. Matthew saw a seat towards the back of the bus. When he sat down we saw another couple of seats so we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off along the B6112 and we ran through the roadworks. We joined the Northbound A629 and we ran into to Halifax. As we travelled Northwards we passed Team Pennine minibus 89 on a #562 to Ripponden. We ran past McDoanld's which is currently being refurbished. We turned right onto Horton Street and left onto Market Street. We ran along the street and the bus emptied out at it's final stop. Once off the bus we crossed over the road and Matthew got another picture of First West Yorkshire 37696.

We started to walk towards the temporary bus station and Matthew wanted to go into a coffee shop so we decided to go to a pub instead. We turned left onto Old Market and we visited the Union Cross Hotel. It was a narrow long bar room with the toilets at the far end. Matthew used the toilet and afterwards we headed back to the bar and ordered 2 glasses of Coke. It was a really friendly place and the people were a little crazy in a good way. When we had finished we headed back out onto the road and we turned left onto Market Street. We saw Transdev Team Pennine 1714 on a #502 to Keighley.

We continued down to the temporary bus station and we entered through the 19th century Sunday School entrance. When we got inside we saw Arriva Yorkshire 1975 on a #255 to Leeds.

We got on the bus placed the WY Daysaver tickets under the scanner before we went upstairs and sat down. A couple of minutes later the bus set off out of the bus station and we turned left onto Winding Road. We turned right onto Northgate and we crossed the North Bridge. We joined the Eastbound A58 and we ran up the hill and out of town. We continued Eastwards through Hipperholme and we crossed over the railway line before turning left onto the A641. We ran Northwards into Wyke and we veered right onto Huddersfield Road. We turned right onto Town Gate and we headed Southwards. We turned left onto Westfield Lane and we crossed over the A58 before heading into Scholes. We ran through the village and ran forwards onto the B6120 towards Cleckheaton. We crossed over the M62 and we crossed over NCN66 before turning right onto Serpentine Road. We ran forwards onto Horncastle Street and we paused at the bus stop by Home Bargains. Ahead of we could see a ghost sign. We turned right onto the A638 and we turned right onto Parkside. We turned left onto Greenside and we entered the bus staion from the West end. We got up and got off the bus and Matthew took another picture of Arriva Yorkshire 1975 as it continued towards Leeds.

Once off the bus we had a bit of a walk around Cleckheaton. We took a few pictures around the bus station and we headed into the Memorial Park. We came out of the park onto Parkside and we turned left onto the A638 and we walked up a couple of blocks to the Wm Hardill Sons & Co LTD ghost sign and we took a picture. On the way back to the bus station we stopped at a shop and Matthew had a can of shops own Cola. We walked back down the A638 and onto Parkside. We walk through the memorial park and into the bus station. There was a bus to Wakefield due so we decided to head in that direction. Matthew drank his can of Cola and a few minutes later the bus appeared it was Arriva Yorkshire 1548 on a #268 to Wakefield.

We got on the bus placed the WY Daysaver tickets under the scanner before we went upstairs and sat down. A couple of minutes later the bus set off out of the bus station and we turned right onto the Southbound A638. We headed South Eastwards and ran the mile and 1/2 into Heckmondwike over the A62. In the town centre we turned left onto Royle Fold and into South George Street which is Heckmondwike bus hub which surrounds the market. We paused for a few minutes and we set off onto the A638 passing the former Halifax bank which is currently up for sale. We continued Eastwards for around a mile and we turned right into Cullingworth Street. We ran through the grounds of the Dewsbury & District Hopistal along Fox View, and we turned right to re-join the A638. We ran into Dewsbury and under the railway line. We turned left onto the A638 and right onto Northgate. We ran into the town centre and forwards onto Westgate and Church Street. We turned right onto South Street and we entered the bus station from the North Eastern corner. We pulled onto a stand and we got up and got off the bus. Once we got off the bus we went to the toilet and afterwards walked to the West end of the bus station to take a few pictures. We saw Arriva Yorkshire 1885 parked up on layover.

We decided it would be a good idea to start to head back towards Bradford to meet up with mum. We waited for the next bus towards Bradford. A few minutes later we saw Arriva Yorkshire 1549 on a #268 to Bradford.

A couple of minutes later the bus set off out of the bus station and we turned left onto the A638. We turned left onto Longcauseway and past the Prince of Wales shopping centre. We turned left onto Corporation Street and we turned right onto Northgate. We veered left onto Halifax Road and we ran forwards onto the A638 and under the railway line. We ran up the hill out of town past the Bath Hotel. We ran Northwards for about 2/3rds of a mile and we turned left into Fox View. We ran through the grounds of Dewsbury & District Hospital and we ran forwards onto Cullingworth Street. We turned left onto the A638 and we ran into Heckmondwike. We ran into the bus hub and after a short wait we turned right onto the A638. We continued the run up to Cleckheaton and we turned left into Parkside. We turned left onto Parkside and we entered the bus station. After a short stop we exited the bus station and we turned left onto the A638. We ran past Aakash which seemed to be very quiet today up up to the M62/M606 roundabout. We ran forwards onto Bradford Road and we ran up the hill to Low Moor. We crossed over the railway line and we passed the pub we drank in the day before. We ran the mile or so up the hill to Odsal Top and we crossed over the roundabout. As we went down the slip road for the A641 we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of Arriva Yorkshire 1549 as it continued towards Bradford.

Once of the bus we crossed over the A641 and we headed Northards. We had seen a few interesting things in this area so we wanted to have an explore on foot to have a look. We we saw the Red Lion pub with it's neon Tetley sign and Tetley lamp over the door. We carried on down the road another 100 yds or so to a ghost sign that had been partially covered by something modern. After we had seen these we went back to the Red Lion pub and Matthew used the toilet. Afterwards we had a 1/2 of Coke and we watch some of Final Score. Once we had finished our drinks we headed outside. We saw First West Yorkshire 69478 on a #681 to Halifax.

We crossed over the A641 and as we got closer to the stop we saw First West Yorkshire 69571 on a 687 to Fagley.

We took a picture of the Richard Dunn stadium and we continued up the slip road to the bus stop. We waited at the Odsal Top stop and whilst we waited we saw First 37294 on a X63 to Huddersfield. A few minutes later we saw a bus approaching. It was Arriva Yorkshire 1546 on a #268 to Bradford. We got on the bus placed the WY Daysaver tickets under the scanner before we went upstairs and sat down. We set off down the slip road and we joined the Northbound A641. We ran for about 1/4 of a mile before turning left onto the A6177. We turned right onto Hutton Road past Marshfield Primary Scool and we joined Thornton Lane. We turned right onto LIttle Horton Lane we decided to get up after the mill on the right hand side to have another explore. We got up and got off the bus in Holme Top. Matthew took a picture of Arriva Yorkshire 1546 as it carried on towards Bradford.

Once we got off the bus we walked Northwards up Little Horton Lane a few yards to see a ghost sign the was unreadble. We walked back the other way and we took a picture of the old mill. We walked nback to the bus stop and we waited for a bus towards Bradford. A few minutes later was saw a bus approaching. It was First West Yorkshire 35217 on a #641 to Five Lane Ends.

We got on the bus placed the WY Daysaver tickets under the scanner for the final time today before we went upstairs and sat down. We set off down Little Horton Lane and we ran to the Southern edge of Bradford. We turned right onto the A6181 and we saw First West Yorkshire 66758 on a #571 to Halifax. We turned left onto Hall Ings and we got up and got off the bus at the small bus station. Matthew took another picture of First West Yorkshire 35217 before it continued on towards Five Lane Ends.

We walked along Hall Ings towards the Broadway Shopping centre where mum had parked the car. As we crossed Bridge Street we saw First West Yorkshire 35655 on a #72 to Leeds.

We walked through the shopping centre and we stopped at the toilets. We continued through the shopping centre to the stairs and we went up to level 1 and met up with mum again. We got in the car and Matthew had a can of Irn Bru. We set off out of the car park and we turned left onto Hall Ings. We joined the Southbound A650. We turned right onto the Wsetbound A6177. The plan had been to go to Asda for petrol, but I got in the wrong lane on the roundabout and ended up going West instean of into the supermarket. We stopped at a Shell pertrol station and we filled up there. We rejoined the A6177 and we turned right to joined the Southbound M606. We ran to the end and joined the Westbound M62. Travelling back along the M62 we saw an unidentified Greys coach, an unidentified Stotts coach, an unidentified Star coach, an unidentified Station Coaches, BJ11 DVL and white minibus EF58 LCA. We joined the anticlockwise M60 and we continued forwards onto the Westbound M62. We left the M62 and we joined the Southbound M6. On the M6 we saw an unidentified P & O Lloyd coach, an unidentified City Circle coach and white minibus YJ14 CZE. We left the M6 at Junction 16 and went South along the A500. On the A500 we saw DN68 YVM. we ran though Longport and Etruria into Stoke. We came off the A500 and we diverted onto Wheildon Road. We dropped off uncle Dave and Matthew got out to use the toilet. Once we had dropped off uncle Dave we set off onto Wheildon Road and past the former Regent pub which is now up for sale. We ran forwards onto Grove Road and we saw green minibus R482 NDM parked up. We turned right onto Blurton Road and we crossed over the A50. We continued through Blurton and we stopped at St Mary's Chip shop. We brought some food and a bottle of Panda pop and we rejoined Blurton Road. We turned right onto Church Road. We turned right onto the A5035 and we got back to Blurton around 20:00. Once we got home Matthew ate his sausage ships and gravy washed down with a bottle of Cola Panda Pop. Matthew chilled out on his computer and we did some of the Blog. Trip to Bradford / Low Moor 16-09-2022

Today we decided to re-visit Bradford, he was also going to Blurton later in the weekend. First we were going to visit Grandma. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice. Matthew chilled out in his room until 11:00 when we cam eto pick him up. He went downstairs and got in the car. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Smithpool Road and we turned left onto City Road. We ran down the hill and forwards onto the A52 and under the railway line. We crossed over the A500 and we ran around the one-way system and onto Hartshill Road. We turned left onto The Avenue and right onto Parkstone Avenue. We turned left onto Occupation Street and we stopped at Grandma's house. Matthew had a can of Irn Bru and I went out to fetch oatcakes for dinner. Matthew had a double bacon and cheese oatcake and used grandma's computer. Around 13:00 we set off to pick up uncle Dave on the way to Bradford. We got in the car and we set off onto Occupation Street. We turned right onto Parkstone Avenue and left onto The Avenue. We turned right onto the A52 and we stopped to put some petrol in the car at the Tesco Express filling station. We continued down into Stoke and around the one-way system. We crossed over the A500 and we turned right onto Whieldon Road. We stopped to pick up uncle Dave and we set off back onto Wheildon Road and onto the Northbound A500. We headed up to the M6. As we travelled Northwards we saw ERS Medical FJ22 FYZ and silver minibus BK09 ENO. As we went around the roundabout to join the M6 we saw Gerrard's L33 GPH going towards Radway Green. We joined the Northbound M6 and progress was slow due to an earlier incident and Friday afternoon traffic. On the M6 we saw an unidentified Eavesway coach, The Gym Doctor AF68 OTE and 2 unidentified Lochs & Glens coach. We ran up to junction 21A and we joined the Eastbound M62. We joined the clockwise M60 and we saw taxi minibus YS65 DTF. We ran forwards onto the Eastbound M62 and we saw 2 unidentified Atlantic Travel coaches, an unidentified Lee's coach. Further up the motorway we spotted a bus being towed along the road. As we got closer we saw it was Preston Bus 69158 being towed (for scrap?). We over took the vehicles and when we were going up the steep hill we let tow truck overtack us and Matthew got a picture of Preston Bus 69158.

We continued along the M62 and we saw white midi coach ???? pnx. At junction 26 we joined the M606. We travelled into Bradford joined Rooley Lane so that we could visit Asda and get some food for later on. We turned left into the supermarket and we parked up. Matthew went to the toilet and then we brought some stuff to make sandwiches, as well as a few snacks. We paid for the shopping and we got back into the car. We crossed over the A6177 and we headed down Burnham Avenue. We turned right onto Heath Hall Avenue. We turned right onto Hambledon Avenue and we turned right onto Bierley House Avenue. We turned left onto Bierley Lane and we headed down the hill and we saw First West Yorkshire 35223 on a #620 to Heaton. We turned right onto Rockhill Lane and left onto Wharfdale Road. We turned right onto Merrydale Road and left onto Roydsdale Way and we parked up at the hotel. We checked into the hotel and we headed up to our rooms. We set up the computer and put battreies on charge, and we had a snack and a drink. Matthew had a pack of Frazzles and a cup of Cherry Coke. Just after 17:00 we said goodbye to mum and we headed onto Roydsdale Way. We turned right onto Merrydale Road and we saw TLC 2482 on a #606 to Bradford stopped. We crossed over the road but we didn't get to the bus quick enough before it pulled off. We walked forwards onto NCN route 66 and we came out onto Rockhill Lane. We turned left onto Bierley Lane and we stopped at the stop by the turning circle. We had quite a wait and 2 buses turned up at once. The lead bus was new Streetlite First West Yorkshire 63425 followed by First West Yorkshire 69577.

We got on the bus and we brought WY Daysaver tickets at £4.50 each before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off along Brierley lane and we turned right into Shetcliffe Lane and we turned left onto Ferrand Avenue. We turned left onto Burnham Avenue and we ran up to the A6177. We headed North Eastwards and at the roundabout we joined the Northbound A650. We turned left onto Croft Street and we turned back on ourselves and under Croft Street into Bradford Interchange where we got up and got off the bus. We had a look around to see what we might catch. We went to the West end of the Interchange to see what was around. We saw TLC 91038 on a #643 service.

We went inside the Interchange and we saw Arriva Yorkshire 1540 on a #268 to Heckmondwike.

We got on the bus and we placed the WY Daysaver ticket on the scanner before going upstairs and sitting down. We set off out of the interchange and onto Croft Street. We Crossed over the A641 on Senior Way and we turned left onto Little Horton Lane. We ran past the Hospital and we turned left onto Thornton Lane and we ran down to the A6177. We headed Eastwards before turning right onto the Southbound A641. We ran down to Odsal and we came up off the main carriageway and over the roundabout and we headed Southwards down Cleckheaton Road. We ran the mile or so down the hill past Low Moor reailway station and we spotted a couple of pubs, so we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew took another picture of Arriva Yorkshire 1540 as it carried on towards Heckmondwike.

Once off the bus we walked back up Cleckheaton Road over the railway line and we headed into the pub. Matthew used the toilet and afterwards we had a 1/2 of Coke each. When we had drank our drinks we went back outside to uncle Dave. We walked to the stop on the Northbound side of the road and we realised that there was a gap in the service and there wasn't another bus for nearly an hour! We decided to walk up the road to the roundabout where we knew there we pther services that come along the road. We set off up Cleckheaton Road past the petrol station and the sports centre. When we got to the roundabout we went under the subway and we came up on the slip road down to the A641 where there is a bus stop. We waited at the stop for a couple of minutes and a bus appeared. It was First West Yorkshire 37079 on a #645 to Buttershaw. We got on the bus and we presented the WY Daysaver tickets under the scanner before we went upstairs and sat down. We set off Northwards up the A642 and we ran onto the guided busway. We crossed over the ring road and we continued into town along the guided busway. We ran the 2 or so miles into Bradford and we reached the edge of town. We veered right onto Hall Ings and we stopped at the small bus terminus. A short time later we set off along Hall Ings and we turned left onto Bridge Street. We turned right onto Market Street and when the bus stopped we realised that the bus does not call at the Interchange on Northbound journeys so we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we crossed over the road and Matthew took a picture of First West Yorkshire 37079 before it continued towards Buttershaw.

Once off the bus we headed through town past the Metro Bank onto Broadway. We turned left onto Bridge Street and we crossed over the road and headed into the Interchange. We saw that they were carrying out some work building some kind of shop. We had a look around the interchange and we saw that there was a #621 to Bierley due in a few minutes. We waited towards the West end of the bus station and a short time later the bus appeared. It was First West Yorkshire 69316 on a #621 to Bierley.

We got on the bus and we placed the WY Daysaver ticket on the scanner for the final time today before sitting down towards the back of the bus. I called mum to say that we were on the way and we arranged to meet at the chip shop. We set off out of the interchange and we turned right onto Bridge Street. We turnd left onto Croft Street and we turned right onto the Southbound A650. We travelled for around a mile or so before turning right onto New Hey Road. We turned right onto Brassey Road and left onto Paley Road. We turned left onto Bowling Hall Road and we ran up the hill. We turned left onto the A6177 and we wen to the roundabout before turning 180' and heading West. At the roundabout we turned left onto Bierley Lane and we got up and got off the bus just up from the chips shop. We headed to the chip shop and Matthew jumped into the car and we ordered food. We set off down Bierley Lane and we turned right onto Rockhill Lane. We turned left onto Wharfdale Road. We turned right onto Merrydale Road and left onto Roydsdale Way and we parked up at the hotel. We went upstairs and we had ham and cheese sandwiches with chips and a sausage, washed down with a cup of Cherry Coke. We wrote e-mails and did some of the Blog. We chilled out in the room watching televisions before going to bed around 23:00... Mark
