Trip to Bradford / Halifax 17-09-2022

Today we were in Bradford on the second and final day of our weekend break in West Yorkshire. Matthew woke up just after 09:00 and had a quick shower before we went downstairs to the restaurant for breakfast. He had an English breakfast washed down with a couple of glasses of orange juice. We went back upstairs to finish packing and we when we were ready we said goodbye to mum and we went downstairs. WE put put some of our belongings in the car and we set off on foot to the bus stop in Bierley. We left the hotel and we set off along Roydsdale Way. We turned right onto Merrydale Road and at the bend in the road we went forwards onto NCN route 66. We joined Rockhill Lane and we turned left onto Bierley Lane. We stopped at the stop at the turning circle and we waited for the next bus into Bradford. As short time later we saw First West Yorkshire 69575 on a #620 to Heaton.

We got on the bus and we booked WY Daysaver tickets at £4.50 each before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off up Bierley Lane and we turned right onto Shetcliffe Lane. We turned left onto Ferrand Avenue and we turned left onto Burnham Avenue. We turned right onto the A6177 and we turned left onto Bowling Hall Road. We ran down the hill and we turned right onto Paley Road. We turned right onto Brassey Road. We ran forwards onto New Hey Road and at the end we turned left onto the A650. We ran the last 1/2 mile or so into town and we ran forwards onto Bridge Street before turning left into the interchange. We got up and got off the bus and we had a look around to see what was in the interchange. We had already decided that we would go to Halifax today. We looked on the board and we saw that there was a bus due to depart in 3 minutes. It was already on stand and we saw it was First West Yorkshire 37505 on a #576 to Halifax.

We got on the bus placed the WY Daysaver tickets under the scanner before we went upstairs and sat down. A couple of minutes later the bus set off out of the interchnage and we turned onto Croft Street. We turned right onto the Northbound A641 and we joined the clockwise ring road. We turned left onto Little Horton Lane and we ran past the ice rink. We turned right right onto Chester Street. We ran forwards onto Great Horton Road and we heade out of town. We ran through Shearbridge and forwards onto the A6177. We continued onto the A647 and into Great Horton. We continued through Horton Bank Top and Old Dolphin. The bus paused in Queensbury opposite the opposite the war memorial and we ran through Amblet Thorn. As we ran down down the hill towards Halifax we had stunninf views over the Valley to the North West. We continued Southwards descending through Boothtown and we reached the edge of Halifax. We crossed the North Bridge and we continued onto Northgate before turning left into the temporary bus station. The bus station is currently being re-built. Once off the bus we had a look around. On layer in the bus station was First West Yorkshire 69586.

We decide to head into town past the new bus station and along Market Street to see what we catch. As we walked along Market Street we saw Transdev Team Pennine 202 on a #21 to Highroad Well.

We continued through the town centre and we turned right onto Horton Street. In Horton Street were some bus stops and a few buses parked up. We saw Transdev Team Pennine 185 parked up between service.

Behind that was Transdev Team Pennine 173 which was now displaying #562 to Ripponden.

We decided to do this bus so we got on and we placed the WY Daysaver ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off along Horton Street and turned right onto Market Street. We headed onto the Southbound A629. We ran past the First Halifax depot and we headed out of town. We ran down the hill into the valley and we ran through some major roadworks where they are widening the road. I had looked on the bustimes.org site and once the bus left Greetland it went cross coutry towards Sowerby Bridge and we would be on the bus for at least an hour. I decided to get off the bus in the West Vale area of Greetland as there were a lot of bus stops and buses going in all manner of directions. We ran forwards onto Stainland and under the railway line. We veered to the right before turning right onto the B6113 where we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of Transdev Team Pennine 173 as it carried on towards Ripponden.

Once off the bus we decided to get something to eat. There was a chip shop across the road so we brough a portion of chips and a large sausage. It came to £5 and this is quite possibly the most expensive chips and sausage we have ever brought. We ate the chips and Matthew had the sausage. Afterwards we walked up to the Co-op to get a drink. Matthew had a can of Coke. We walked back to the bench and we sat down to have the drinks. Whilst we were sat there we saw Transdev Team Pennine 177 on a #343 Huddersfield.

When we had finished our drinks we decided to head up to stop B to catch something back towards Halifax. We headed up to the stop and Matthew wanted to sit on the stone wall. But we advised his against this as there was a 7ft drop on the other side down into the car park. We waited a few minutes and the bus coming up the B6112. As it got closer we saw it was First West Yorkshire 37696 on a #503 to Halifax.

We got on the bus and we placed the WY Daysaver ticket under the scanner before we went upstairs. The top deck was full and there is no standing on the top deck, so we went back downstairs. Matthew saw a seat towards the back of the bus. When he sat down we saw another couple of seats so we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off along the B6112 and we ran through the roadworks. We joined the Northbound A629 and we ran into to Halifax. As we travelled Northwards we passed Team Pennine minibus 89 on a #562 to Ripponden. We ran past McDoanld's which is currently being refurbished. We turned right onto Horton Street and left onto Market Street. We ran along the street and the bus emptied out at it's final stop. Once off the bus we crossed over the road and Matthew got another picture of First West Yorkshire 37696.

We started to walk towards the temporary bus station and Matthew wanted to go into a coffee shop so we decided to go to a pub instead. We turned left onto Old Market and we visited the Union Cross Hotel. It was a narrow long bar room with the toilets at the far end. Matthew used the toilet and afterwards we headed back to the bar and ordered 2 glasses of Coke. It was a really friendly place and the people were a little crazy in a good way. When we had finished we headed back out onto the road and we turned left onto Market Street. We saw Transdev Team Pennine 1714 on a #502 to Keighley.

We continued down to the temporary bus station and we entered through the 19th century Sunday School entrance. When we got inside we saw Arriva Yorkshire 1975 on a #255 to Leeds.

We got on the bus placed the WY Daysaver tickets under the scanner before we went upstairs and sat down. A couple of minutes later the bus set off out of the bus station and we turned left onto Winding Road. We turned right onto Northgate and we crossed the North Bridge. We joined the Eastbound A58 and we ran up the hill and out of town. We continued Eastwards through Hipperholme and we crossed over the railway line before turning left onto the A641. We ran Northwards into Wyke and we veered right onto Huddersfield Road. We turned right onto Town Gate and we headed Southwards. We turned left onto Westfield Lane and we crossed over the A58 before heading into Scholes. We ran through the village and ran forwards onto the B6120 towards Cleckheaton. We crossed over the M62 and we crossed over NCN66 before turning right onto Serpentine Road. We ran forwards onto Horncastle Street and we paused at the bus stop by Home Bargains. Ahead of we could see a ghost sign. We turned right onto the A638 and we turned right onto Parkside. We turned left onto Greenside and we entered the bus staion from the West end. We got up and got off the bus and Matthew took another picture of Arriva Yorkshire 1975 as it continued towards Leeds.

Once off the bus we had a bit of a walk around Cleckheaton. We took a few pictures around the bus station and we headed into the Memorial Park. We came out of the park onto Parkside and we turned left onto the A638 and we walked up a couple of blocks to the Wm Hardill Sons & Co LTD ghost sign and we took a picture. On the way back to the bus station we stopped at a shop and Matthew had a can of shops own Cola. We walked back down the A638 and onto Parkside. We walk through the memorial park and into the bus station. There was a bus to Wakefield due so we decided to head in that direction. Matthew drank his can of Cola and a few minutes later the bus appeared it was Arriva Yorkshire 1548 on a #268 to Wakefield.

We got on the bus placed the WY Daysaver tickets under the scanner before we went upstairs and sat down. A couple of minutes later the bus set off out of the bus station and we turned right onto the Southbound A638. We headed South Eastwards and ran the mile and 1/2 into Heckmondwike over the A62. In the town centre we turned left onto Royle Fold and into South George Street which is Heckmondwike bus hub which surrounds the market. We paused for a few minutes and we set off onto the A638 passing the former Halifax bank which is currently up for sale. We continued Eastwards for around a mile and we turned right into Cullingworth Street. We ran through the grounds of the Dewsbury & District Hopistal along Fox View, and we turned right to re-join the A638. We ran into Dewsbury and under the railway line. We turned left onto the A638 and right onto Northgate. We ran into the town centre and forwards onto Westgate and Church Street. We turned right onto South Street and we entered the bus station from the North Eastern corner. We pulled onto a stand and we got up and got off the bus. Once we got off the bus we went to the toilet and afterwards walked to the West end of the bus station to take a few pictures. We saw Arriva Yorkshire 1885 parked up on layover.

We decided it would be a good idea to start to head back towards Bradford to meet up with mum. We waited for the next bus towards Bradford. A few minutes later we saw Arriva Yorkshire 1549 on a #268 to Bradford.

We got on the bus placed the WY Daysaver tickets under the scanner before we went upstairs and sat down. A couple of minutes later the bus set off out of the bus station and we turned left onto the A638. We turned left onto Longcauseway and past the Prince of Wales shopping centre. We turned left onto Corporation Street and we turned right onto Northgate. We veered left onto Halifax Road and we ran forwards onto the A638 and under the railway line. We ran up the hill out of town past the Bath Hotel. We ran Northwards for about 2/3rds of a mile and we turned left into Fox View. We ran through the grounds of Dewsbury & District Hospital and we ran forwards onto Cullingworth Street. We turned left onto the A638 and we ran into Heckmondwike. We ran into the bus hub and after a short wait we turned right onto the A638. We continued the run up to Cleckheaton and we turned left into Parkside. We turned left onto Parkside and we entered the bus station. After a short stop we exited the bus station and we turned left onto the A638. We ran past Aakash which seemed to be very quiet today up up to the M62/M606 roundabout. We ran forwards onto Bradford Road and we ran up the hill to Low Moor. We crossed over the railway line and we passed the pub we drank in the day before. We ran the mile or so up the hill to Odsal Top and we crossed over the roundabout. As we went down the slip road for the A641 we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of Arriva Yorkshire 1549 as it continued towards Bradford.

Once of the bus we crossed over the A641 and we headed Northards. We had seen a few interesting things in this area so we wanted to have an explore on foot to have a look. We we saw the Red Lion pub with it's neon Tetley sign and Tetley lamp over the door. We carried on down the road another 100 yds or so to a ghost sign that had been partially covered by something modern. After we had seen these we went back to the Red Lion pub and Matthew used the toilet. Afterwards we had a 1/2 of Coke and we watch some of Final Score. Once we had finished our drinks we headed outside. We saw First West Yorkshire 69478 on a #681 to Halifax.

We crossed over the A641 and as we got closer to the stop we saw First West Yorkshire 69571 on a 687 to Fagley.

We took a picture of the Richard Dunn stadium and we continued up the slip road to the bus stop. We waited at the Odsal Top stop and whilst we waited we saw First 37294 on a X63 to Huddersfield. A few minutes later we saw a bus approaching. It was Arriva Yorkshire 1546 on a #268 to Bradford. We got on the bus placed the WY Daysaver tickets under the scanner before we went upstairs and sat down. We set off down the slip road and we joined the Northbound A641. We ran for about 1/4 of a mile before turning left onto the A6177. We turned right onto Hutton Road past Marshfield Primary Scool and we joined Thornton Lane. We turned right onto LIttle Horton Lane we decided to get up after the mill on the right hand side to have another explore. We got up and got off the bus in Holme Top. Matthew took a picture of Arriva Yorkshire 1546 as it carried on towards Bradford.

Once we got off the bus we walked Northwards up Little Horton Lane a few yards to see a ghost sign the was unreadble. We walked back the other way and we took a picture of the old mill. We walked nback to the bus stop and we waited for a bus towards Bradford. A few minutes later was saw a bus approaching. It was First West Yorkshire 35217 on a #641 to Five Lane Ends.

We got on the bus placed the WY Daysaver tickets under the scanner for the final time today before we went upstairs and sat down. We set off down Little Horton Lane and we ran to the Southern edge of Bradford. We turned right onto the A6181 and we saw First West Yorkshire 66758 on a #571 to Halifax. We turned left onto Hall Ings and we got up and got off the bus at the small bus station. Matthew took another picture of First West Yorkshire 35217 before it continued on towards Five Lane Ends.

We walked along Hall Ings towards the Broadway Shopping centre where mum had parked the car. As we crossed Bridge Street we saw First West Yorkshire 35655 on a #72 to Leeds.

We walked through the shopping centre and we stopped at the toilets. We continued through the shopping centre to the stairs and we went up to level 1 and met up with mum again. We got in the car and Matthew had a can of Irn Bru. We set off out of the car park and we turned left onto Hall Ings. We joined the Southbound A650. We turned right onto the Wsetbound A6177. The plan had been to go to Asda for petrol, but I got in the wrong lane on the roundabout and ended up going West instean of into the supermarket. We stopped at a Shell pertrol station and we filled up there. We rejoined the A6177 and we turned right to joined the Southbound M606. We ran to the end and joined the Westbound M62. Travelling back along the M62 we saw an unidentified Greys coach, an unidentified Stotts coach, an unidentified Star coach, an unidentified Station Coaches, BJ11 DVL and white minibus EF58 LCA. We joined the anticlockwise M60 and we continued forwards onto the Westbound M62. We left the M62 and we joined the Southbound M6. On the M6 we saw an unidentified P & O Lloyd coach, an unidentified City Circle coach and white minibus YJ14 CZE. We left the M6 at Junction 16 and went South along the A500. On the A500 we saw DN68 YVM. we ran though Longport and Etruria into Stoke. We came off the A500 and we diverted onto Wheildon Road. We dropped off uncle Dave and Matthew got out to use the toilet. Once we had dropped off uncle Dave we set off onto Wheildon Road and past the former Regent pub which is now up for sale. We ran forwards onto Grove Road and we saw green minibus R482 NDM parked up. We turned right onto Blurton Road and we crossed over the A50. We continued through Blurton and we stopped at St Mary's Chip shop. We brought some food and a bottle of Panda pop and we rejoined Blurton Road. We turned right onto Church Road. We turned right onto the A5035 and we got back to Blurton around 20:00. Once we got home Matthew ate his sausage ships and gravy washed down with a bottle of Cola Panda Pop. Matthew chilled out on his computer and we did some of the Blog. We also wrote a few emails and generally used the computer to entertain ourselves. We watched TV and Matthew got ready for bed. Matthew settled down around 00:00... Mark

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to Bradford. We checked the weather and it was for dry sunny weather. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast for breakfast. before Matthew went to Bradford he watched buses out of the window. whilst waiting for the time to go to the dentist and we saw red minibus BJ12 OAN.

Around 11:30 we came to pick Matthew up. After getting ready we went downstairs to the car. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned left onto Smithpool Road. We turned right onto Wheildon Road and we ran down the hill and picked up uncle Dave. under the railway line towards Stoke and we joined the A500. As we travelled Northwards up the A500 we saw blue minibus MX07 NDU and West Midlands Ambulance Service YJ19 HFL. The A500 was quite bus as far as Longport and afterwards it eased off a little. We ran into Cheshire and we joined the Northbound M6 at junction 16. As we went up the M6 we saw red minibus RX70 AVP, . Matthew also lost his hat out of the window as we travelled up through Cheshire. At junction 20 we went Westbound along the M62. As we travelled East around the North ot Manchester we saw Epsom Coaches (National Express) BX65 WCY & Coachmasters P691 XVL. On the M60 we passed 3 x Gordon's coaches, 2 York Pullman coaches, A Tetley's coach, a T&J Coaches coach and East Yorkshire Coaches 71. We came of the M62 at Junction 24 and we went North on the M606 and we turned right into the A6177. We turned right onto the A6037 and followed the road around to the right and into Shipley town centre. At the roundabout we turned left onto Salts Mill Road and we parke up at the pub. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards we sat down at the table with mum and uncle Dave. Matthew had a large breakfast washed down with a glass of orange juice. When we had finished we said goodbye to mum and we walked towards the exit near to the bus station. We set off onto Salts Mill Road past the site of the new wharf retail park. We returned along Salts Mill Road and we continued forwards onto Victoria Street. We turned left onto Wharf Street and we turned right onto the A657. We turned right onto Bank Street and we turned left onto onto Market Square and we saw Transdev Keighley 2757 on a #60 to Leeds. After we walked to the bus stop. We waited for a bus to Bradford. A few minutes later the bus appeared and it was First West Yorkshire 37710 on a #626 to Bradford. We got on the bus and we purchased WY Metro Weekender tickets at £8.50 each before we went upstairs and sat down. A couple of minutes later the bus set off out of the square and forwards onto Market Street. We turned right onto the A6038 and left onto the A650. We ran down into the past Frizinghall and up the hill and under Bradford. We ran through Manor Row and Cheapside. We continued forwards onto Market Street. We turned left onto Bank Street and right onto Broadway. We turned left onto Bridge Street and we turned into the interchange. We got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we went downstairs and Matthew used the toilet. We went back upstairs and we decided to go in a different direction. When we arrived we saw First West Yorkshire 32694 on a #576 to Halifax. We got on the bus and we placed the WY Metro tickets under the scanner we went upstairs and sat down. It was required First West Yorkshire 37047 on a #508 to Leeds. We got on the bus and we placed the WY Metro Weekender tickets under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station. We set off out of the bus station onto Northgate and we crossed over the North Bridge. We ran forwards onto the A58. We ran through Godley Gardens and into Stump Cross. We headed Eastwards A6036 and we went through Northowram and Stone Chair and further North through Shelf. We got up and got off the bus by the Village Hall. We crossed over the A6036 and we decided to visit the Lidl Store. Matthew used the toilet and afterwards we brough a couple of small bottles of Coke and a pack of Crunchies. We decided to catch a #508 back towards Halifax. As it got closer we saw that it was First West Yorkshire 33880 on a #508 to Halifax. We got on the bus and we placed the WY Metro Weekender tickets under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off along the A6036 and we travelled Westwards through Stone Chair and we ran through Northowram. We turned onto right the A58 and the road veered ran through Stump Cross and into Godley Gardens and we reached the edge of Halifax. We crossed the North Bridge and we continued onto Northgate before turning left into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we walked out of the bus station onto Northgate and we ranup to the Broad Street Plaza business centre and parked in the car park. We walked through the business centre and we went to the Wetherspoon's pub The Percy Shaw and Matthew used the toilet. We then went to the bar and Matthew had a small Coke. Once we had finished we went outside to meet back up with uncle Dave. We walked back up to the bus station and we waited for the next bus towards Todmorden. Whilst we waited we saw First West Yorkshire 66713 on a #571 to Bradford. We set off out of the bus station onto Northgate and we turned right onto Crossley Street. We turned left onto Waterhouse Street and we turned right onto Crown Street and we walked to the bus stop. As it got closer we saw it was First West Yorkshire 66778 on the #592 to Burnley. We got on the bus and we placed the WY Metro Weekender tickets under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off down Crown Street onto George Street. At the other end of town we joined the A629 and King Cross Street. We went east along the A58 to King Cross. We turned right onto Kings Cross Road and we turned right onto the A646 through the short curved tunnel before runnin down the hill into Willowfield and coming of the road into Friendly. We ran through Luddenden Foot and Mytholmroyd. We continued into Hebden Bridge into Charlestown and Eastwood and we ran the last couple of miles into Todmorden. We past the bus depot and the social club and we turned right, following the A646 before we entered the bus station. We got up and got off. We decided to go for a comfort break and we set off along the path opposite to the bus station towards the market. We went through the market and across the car park to the toilet block where Matthew used the toilet. We walked back past the front side of the market and as we turned the corner we saw a double decker in the bus station. As we got closer we saw required Transdev Rosso 2706 on a #7 to Rawtenstall. A few minutes later saw required First West Yorkshire 69582 on a #592 to Halifax. We got on the bus and we flashed the WY Metro weekender tickets to the driver for the final time today before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station and onto Stansfield Road before joining the Southbound A646. We followed the road to the left and as we left town past the Todmorden Social Club. A few hundred yards up the road we passed the Todmorden bus depot. The road up to Hebden Bridge is a meandering tight valley. Sometimes there is barley enough room for the road, the River Calder and the Rochdale Canal, other times there is a wider area with houses and even a cricket ground. The railway line run above them all on a viaduct the length of the valley. We ran through the little vilages of Eastwood, Charlestown and Mytholm before entering Hebden Bridge past the old Lloyds Bank which is going to be new restaurant. We ran onto Mytholmroyd and we ran down through Luddenden Foot and into Friendly and King Cross. We turned left onto King Cross Road and we turned left onto the A58. We reached the edge of Halifax. We turned left onto King Cross Street and onto Bull Green. We turned left onto the A629 before turning right into Crown Street and we in the town cente where we got up and got off the bus. We walked along Crown Street and right onto Commercial Street. We ran up the A629 and we ran down the hill to MacDonalds. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards he had beefburger and fries washed down with a cup of Coke. After we had finished eating we got in the car and mum was waiting for us with Greggs sausage rolls. We set off out of the Southbound A629. We ran down into the valley past Ellend and up the hill and under the M62. As we were about to join the M62 we saw J&B Travel double decker J600 JBT. We got onto the West M62 and we travelled forwrds onto the M60, through the roadworks and back onto the M62 again. We passed loads of coaches going the other way. we were overtakn by Tyrers coach TYR 14R on the M62. Going the other way we also saw 4 x Gordons coaches, 2 x Tetley Coaches, 6 x Acklams coaches, 2 x Kettlewell Coaches, 1 T&J Coaches, 1 x Tyrers coach. We left the M62 to go onto the Southbound M6. On the M6 we were passed by M&J Travel YG71 MBU. At junction 16 we left the M6 and went South down the A500 and we turned right onto Wheildon Road. We went under the railway line and we stopped at uncle Dave's house. Matthew used the toilet and afterwards drank some of uncle Rob's pop. We set off onto Whieldon Road. We turned left onto Smithpool Road and right onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. We went upstairs and Matthew also drank a bottle of Buddies Cherryade. Matthew chilled out in his room watching television and using his computer. Later on Matthew chilled out in his room. Matthew used his computer and watched music videos on the television. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.

Today we started the day in Bradford. Matthew woke up around 07:30 and he chilled out in his room and got ready to go out. We left the hotel at 10:00 and we set off to a pub in Shipley for breakfast. We ran out of the industrial estate onto Rockhill Lane and at the end we turned left onto Bierley Lane. We ran up the hill and we turned right onto the Northbound A6177. We turned left onto Bowling Hall Road and we ran along this quiet street to the edge of the town centre. We joined the Northbound A650 and we headed Northwards out of town. We passed below Valley Parade and we ran forwards onto Canal Road. We continued onto the A6037 and followed the road around to the right and into Shipley town centre. At the roundabout we turned left onto Salts Mill Road and we parke up at the pub. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards we sat down at the table with mum and uncle Dave. Matthew had a large breakfast washed down with a glass of orange juice. After we had finished eating we got back in the car and headed back to Bradford. We set off onto Salts Mill Road past the site of the new retail park and we turned right onto the Southbound A6037. We continued onto Otley Road and we joined the Southbound A650. We continued into town along manningham Lane and past Valley Parade and we turned right onto the A6181. We continued arounf the inner ring road past Hall Ings and we parked up at the Broadway Shopping Centre. Once we had parked up we went down to the ground floor and into the shopping centre. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards we said goodbye to mum and we set off on foot towards the interchange. We walked out of the shopping centre on Market Street and we walked past the new Metro Bank. Further up the Street we saw First Potteries 37730 on a #640 to Thorpe Edge.

We turned left onto Bridge Street and we spotted the Hall Ings bus stops. We crossed Hall Ings and we headed to the Interchange. We went to the WY Metro travel office to tried and buy a Weekender ticket after being told they were App and mCard only. They lady in the travel office told us that WY Metro Weekender tickets are paper they are sold on the bus! With this new information we headed upstairs to the bus station part of the interchange. We saw First West Yorkshire 35233 on a X6 to Leeds.

We looked along the stands to see what we could catch. We spot a #576 to Halifax the was departing shortly. When we got closer we saw it was First West Yorkshire 37694 on a #576 to Halifax.

We got on the bus and we purchased WY Metro Weekender tickets at £8.50 each before we went upstairs and sat down. A couple of minutes later the bus set off out of the interchnage and we turned onto Croft Street. We turned right onto the Northbound A641 and we joined the clockwise ring road. We turned left onto Little Horton Lane and we ran past the ice rink. We turned right right onto Chester Street. We ran forwards onto Great Horton Road and we heade out of town. We ran through Shearbridge and forwards onto the A6177. We continued onto the A647 and into Great Horton. We continued through Horton Bank Top and Old Dolphin. The bus paused in Queensbury opposite the opposite the war memorial and we ran through Amblet Thorn. As we ran down down the hill towards Halifax we had stunninf views over the Valley to the North West. We continued Southwards descending through Boothtown and we reached the edge of Halifax. We crossed the North Bridge and we continued onto Northgate before turning left into the bus station. The bus station is currently being re-built. Once off the bus we had a look around. A short time later we saw Arriva NW&W 2159 on loan to Transdev Team Pennine on a #22 to Claremont.

We had a look around to see what we could catch. There was a #548 to Rastrick in around 15 minutes, so we decided to wait for that. A short time later the bus arrived into the bus station. It was First West Yorkshire 63289 on a #548 to Nunnery Lane.

We got on the bus and we placed the WY Metro Weekender tickets under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station. We set off out of the bus station onto Northgate and we crossed over the North Bridge. We ran forwards onto the A58 and we headed Eastwards. We ran through Godley Gardens and into Stump Cross. We continued to the centre of Hipperholme and we turned right onto the Southbound A644. We continued into North West corner of Brighouse and we ran forwards onto the A643. We ran forwards onto Gooder Street and into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we walked out of the bus station and we took a picture of First West Yorkshire 63289 before it continued on to Rastrick.

We had a look at the bus station departure board to see when the next bus was due. There was a #686 due in a few minutes. We walked back into the bus station and we waited in the open air middlke section of the bus station. A few minutes later we saw the bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was First West Yorkshire 69318 on a #686 to Bradford.

We got on the bus and we placed the WY Metro Weekender tickets under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station and we turned right onto the onto the Northbound A643. We turned right onto the linkroad and we turned left onto the Northbound A641. We veered left onto Bonegate Road and we ran forwards onto Garden Road. We veered right onto Lightcliffe Road and we headed Northwards. We turned right onto Smith House Lane and left onto Stoney Lane. We turned right onto Aysgarth Avenue and we re-joined Smith House Lane. We turned right onto the A649 and at the crossroad in Baliff Bridge we turned left onto the A641. We turned right onto the A58 and we headed Eastwards. We turned left onto Whitehall Avenue and we ran forwards onto Griffe Head Road. We turned left Onto Griffe Road and we ran through Wyke. We ran up the B6379 to the end and we re-joined the Northbound A641. We came up the slip road at Odsal and onto the roundabout. As we crossed the roundabout at Odsal we saw First West Yorkshire 32506 rush past us on the A641 below us. We ran back down the slip road and re-joined the main A641. Part way down the road we joined the bus lane and ran towards Bradford. We turned right into Hall Ings and right into Bridge Street and we turned into the interchange. We got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we went downstairs and Matthew used the toilet. We went back upstairs and we decided to go in a different direction. When we arrived we saw an Arriva double decker go on layover. As we got back upstairs we looked for the stand and we saw it was due off in 3 minutes. We walked over to the stand and we saw Arriva Yorkshire 1933 on a #268 to Wakefield.

We got on the bus and we flashed the WY Metro weekender ticket to the driver before we went upstairs and sat down. We set off out of the interchange and onto Croft Street. We Crossed over the A641 on Senior Way and we turned left onto Little Horton Lane. We ran past the Hospital and we turned left onto Thornton Lane and we ran down to the A6177. We headed Eastwards before turning right onto the Southbound A641. We ran down to Odsal and we came up off the main carriageway and over the roundabout before re-joining the A641. The bus would normally veer left onto Cleckheaton Road, but due to a road closure the bus was diverted via Wyke. WE veered left onto the B6379 and through Wyke. We turned left onto Westfield Lane and left onto the Eastbound A58. We ran fast to the roundabout and we crossed the under the M62 and on the A638. We continued into Cleckheaton and as we came into town we saw Everest coach B19 EVR parked up next the the Aakash Indian Restaurant. In the centre of town we turned right onto Parkside and left onto Greenside before entering Cleckheaton bus station. Once off the bus we decided to have a quick walk around the bus station. We saw Arriva Yorkshire 1982 on a #255 to Leeds.

We walked around the park to Parkside and we turned right onto Northgate. We visited a shop and we brought a few cans of pop and a few chocolate bars. We walked back down Northgate and into the park. We sat down and Matthew had a can of Coke Zero and a Milky Way. Once we had finished eating and drinking we walked down to the bus station to wait for another bus. We decided to do a bus towards Birstall. A short time later we saw Arriva Yorkshire 1550 on a #200 to Leeds.

We got on the bus and we flashed the WY Metro weekender ticket to the driver. The lower saloon was empty when we got on the bus so Matthew took a picture inside Arriva Yorkshire 1550 before we went upstairs.

A few minutes later the bus set off out of the bus station and we turned left onto Dewsbury Road. We turned right onto St Peg Lane and we ran forwards onto Spen Bank and we climbed out of the valley. We continued forwards onto Spen Lane we turned left onto Woodlands Road. We turned right onto Cliffe Lane and left onto Latham Lane. We turned right on to West Lane and Right onto Oxford Road and into the centre of Gomersal. We turned left onto Church Lane and we headed Eastwards. At the end of the road we turned left onto Bradford Road and right onto Kirkgate. We continued onto Low Lane and in the centre of Birstall we veered right onto Chapel lane and we stopped in the town cente where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew took another picture of Arriva Yorkshire 1550 before it continued on it's journey towards Leeds.

We had a quick look at the bus stops and we decided that it would probably be best if we headed back towards Bradford. WE looked around and we though the place looked familiar. We visited Birstall back in August 2019 when we started at Huddersfield. We walked along Low Lane to the bus stop and we waited for the bus back to Cleckheaton. Whilst we waited we saw Arriva Yorkshire 1491 on a #281 to Birstall Retail Park. We checked the bustimes.org map and we saw the bus was approaching. At it got closer we saw it was Arriva Yorkshire 1520 on the #200 to Cleckheaton.

We got on the bus and we flashed the WY Metro weekender ticket to the driver before we went upstairs and sat down. The bus set off along Low Lane and we ran forwards onto Kirkgate. We turned left onto Bradford Road and right onto Church Lane. At the crossroads in Gomersal we turned right onto Oxford Road. We turned left onto West Lane and left onto Latham Lane. We turned right onto Cliffe Lane and left onto Woodlands Road. We turned right onto Spen Lane and we ran down Spen Bank into Cleckheaton. We Continued onto St Peg Lane and we ran forwards onto Parkside. We turned left onto Greenside and we turned left into the bus station. We got up and got off the bus and we looked for the stand for the next #268 to Bradford. Whilst we were waiting we saw Arriva Yorkshire 1538 on a #268 to Wakefield.

A few minutes later our bus came on stand. It was Arriva Yorkshire 1517 on a #268 to Bradford.

We crossed over the road into the central reservation where there is a bus lane for Northbound buses into Bradford. We waited at the stop for a bus towards Bradford. Whilst we waied we saw First West Yorkshire 32508 on a X63 to Bradford.

We got on the bus and we place the WY Metro weekender tickets for the final time under the scanner before going upstairs. As the rear of the top deck was empty, Matthew took a picture inside First West Yorkshire 37081 before we sat down.

We set off along the bus lane and we ran down Manchester Road for the last few miles. At the roundabout we turned right into Hall Ings and we got up and got of the bus as the bus stands opposite THe Bradford Hotel. Once off the bus we set off on foot towards the car park. Matthew took another picture of First West Yorkshire 37081 as it went off to the depot not in service.
