Trip to Hanley / Smallthorne 08-11-2021

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. He was also going out on the bus later on. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast for breakfast. before Matthew went to the day centre he watched buses out of the window. whilst waiting for the time to go to the day centre, we saw First Potteries 67153 on a #23 to Hanley. In the morning Matthew went to the bus. We went downstairs and transport for the trip was a Lucky Seven taxi. We got in the car and we set off onto Temple Street. We turned left onto Christchurch Street and we crossed over City Road onto Manor Street. We turned left onto Victoria Road and we ran down the hill to Joiners Square. We crossed over the roundabout onto Lichfield Street and we saw white minibus SD13 YLN. We carried on up Lichfield Street and across the ring road. Matthew was dropped of and the car carried on we saw First Potteries 65028 on a #11 to Newcastle. Once off the bus we continued up Tontine Street and onto Parliament Row and we visited the Pound Bakery. Matthew had a sausage and bean pasty washed down with a bottle of Coke. When we had finished in the Bakery we went to the Intu Potteries shopping centre. We went to the top floor and Matthew visited the toilet. Once he had finished there we left the shopping centre and we walked out off the shopping centre onto Tontine Square and onto Stafford Street. We stopped on Stafford Street to eat the pasty and to watch buses. We saw First Potteries 32066 on a #18 to Leek. When we had finished we walked down Lichfield Street and back to the bus station. We waited for a bus to Tunstall. A few minutes later we saw First Potteries 63097 on a #6 to Coalville. As it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 69162 on a #3 to Crewe. We got on the bus and we booked to Tunstall before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station and onto John Street. We turned right onto Bethesda Street and we went straight across onto Marsh Street. We turned right up onto Trinity Street and we went past the former RBS now a new multi-floor res development. We turned left onto Stafford Street. After picking up more passenger outside of Debenhams we followed the road around to the left and then back onto marsh Street. At the roundabout we went straight on onto Waterloo Road and we ran up the hill into Cobridge we saw Copeland's Tours MIB 904. We continued into Buslem and through the traffic lights onto Scotia Road. We went past the old Burslem PMT garage and we followed the road around to the left onto Williamson Street. We got up and got off the bus. When we got to Tunstall we walked up High Street and we waited for a taxi. We booked a Lucky Seven taxi. We got in the taxi and we set off along the High Street and forwards onto Brownhills Road. As we travelled down to Trubshaw Cross. We ran forwards along the A5271 through Longport and over the Southbound A500. We ran through Etruria to Stoke and we came off the A500 and we saw Paul's Of Stoke J7 WXM. We turned left onto City Road. We went under the railway line and up the hill into Fenton. We turned right into Smithpool Road and left into Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to chill out in his room and use his computer. We saw grey minibus FT13 ??? going towards Longton.

Matthwe went into the living room and we saw Temple Street Church RX18 GZW. Matthew chilled out in his room until we saw Star Travel BT57 FSN going towards Stoke.

Matthew waited for us he had a slice of cake. Also seen was D&G Bus 119 on a #1A to Wood Lane.

After a while we saw Viking Travel coach UJI 8661 going towards Stoke.

Matthew got his face mask and bag and got ready to go. We came around 16:30 and Matthew came downstairs and got in the car. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We turned left onto City Road. We saw First Potteries 69172 on a #11 to Hanley. and we headed down the road into Stoke. We ran under the railway line and we crossed the A500. We ran forwards onto Church Street and we ran around Stoke town centre on the one-way system. We turned left onto Lonsdale Street and we turned right onto Flemming Road. We turned right onto Campbell Place and we ran forwards onto Church Street. We ran towards Hartshill and we turned right onto Shelton Old Road. We turned left onto the A500 and nwe joined the Northbound side. We ran up to Etruria and we turned right on to the East bound A53. We ran uop through Cobridge and we passed Aimee's KX05 KGN going the other way. We veered left onto we stopped at Captain Kooks. Matthew visited to the toilet and afterwards had a breakfast washed down with a bottle of Coke. Whilst we ate we saw Stanton's of Stoke EXZ 535 go past running towards Smallthorne. Once we had finished we set off onto Sandbach Road and we ran up the onto Sneyd Hill. We veered left onto the Southbound A5272. We ran through Sneyd Green and we saw First Potteries 63115 on a #7 to Kidsgrove. We continued into Birches Head. We ran forwards onto Town Road and we joined the Clockwise ring road. We ran past the bus station and we turned left onto Lower Bethesda Street. We turned right onto Cleveland Road and we ran forwards onto College Road where we saw First Potteries 67153 on a #23 to Hanley. We turned left onto Station Road and we ran past the railway station. We ran forwards onto the A52 and we ran alkongside the railway line. We turned left onto City Road and right into Smithpool Road. We turned left onto Temple Street past the new building under construction and back to the residential unit. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. was also going out on the bus later and and going to a Women’s Day party. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast for breakfast. before Matthew went to the day centre he watched buses out of the window. whilst waiting for the time to go to the day centre, we saw Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX. Later on we went downstairs and we set off onto City Road. On the way to the bus stop we spotted Afford Rent-A-Car WM70 DHN parked up in their garage. Whilst at the bus stop Matthew noticed the trees from the blind school had been dug up and an old painted advert could be seen on the end of the terrace of houses, in preparation for the new sheltered housing complex being built. The bus turned the corner and as it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 69155 on a #11 to Newcastle. We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle. The rear of the bus was empty so Matthew took a picture inside First Potteries 69155 before we sat down towards the back of the bus.

The bus set off down City Road and we ran down the hill over the old railway line to Leek and onto the A52. We ran under the railway line and over the A500 and straight into Stoke town centre along Church Street. After a brief stop in Stoke we continued along church Street and forwards onto Hartshill Road. We ran up the hill where we saw Viking Travel P57 ETO. We ran forwards onto George Street and we ran down the hill into Newcastle. We turned left at the roundabout onto Barracks Road and into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. We got in the bus station and there was already a bus we could catch in the bus station. We saw First Potteries 65032 on a #4A to Hanley. We got on the bus and we booked to Festival Park before we sat down near to the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station and onto Barracks Road. We crossed the Jubilee Roundabout and onto the A53. We ran into Basford and over the A500. We ran down into Etruria and over the A500. We continued along the A53 and we turned left onto Forge Lane. We ran out along the Lane and we crossed over the canal before we returned back into Etruria along Festival Way and we ran in Festival Park where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we walked up Festival Way. We walked through Ridgehouse Drive. We ran to the end and we parked up at Morrison's We went to the supermarket and we brought some Shopping. Outside of Morrisons and we got to Starbucks. When we had finished we returned to Fenton with Matthew's weekly shop. We set off onto Ridgehouse Drive and we ran to the end and turned left onto Festival Way. We turned right onto the A53 and we headed up to Etruria. we veered left onto Etriscan Road and we turned right onto Shelton New Road and we headed as if we were going onto the Southbound A500. We turned right onto Garner street where we saw grey minibus OU68 CHJ. and we headed to the food truck. Whilst there Matthew had a cumberland sausage ring with egg washed down with a can Coke. once we had finished we got a taxi back to the residential unit. We set off along Garner Street and we turned right onto the A500. We headed South through Stoke. We went into Fenton. We continued onto Wheildon Road and we turned left onto Smithpool Road. We turned right onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to chill out in his room. to chill out in his room. Out of the other window we saw Temple Street Church RX18 GZW. For dinner Matthew had a Cumberland sausage bap washed down with a can of Coke. Whilst getting ready we saw First Potteries 67156 on a #23 to Hanley.

Once we were ready we went downstairs and out of the residential unit. We got in the car and we drove onto Temple Street. We turned right onto Christchurch Street and right onto Station Bridge Road. We followed the road around onto Heron Street and into Heron Cross. We went through the traffic lights and forwards onto Blurton Road. As we travelled through Blurton we passed First Potteries 63111 on a #22 to Longton. We continued through Blurton and we turned right onto Church Street and right onto Beaconsfield Drive. We got home around 15:00. When we got home Matthew had ttoast and a small bottle of dandelion & burdock. Today we were catching the 15:56 to Longton. We set off around 16:01 on foot to the bus stop all the way onto Magdalen Road.Whilst we waited for our bus we saw First Potteries 63097 on a #22 to Longton.

As it got closer we saw that it was First Potteries 67659 on a #22 to Longton.

We got on the bus and we booked to Longton before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off along Beaconsfield Drive and we saw First Potteries 63097 on a #22 to Newcastle. ran through the estate to the other end. We turned left onto Church Road and at the the roundabout we turned left onto Blurton Road. We ran to the bottom of the hill and we turned right onto Longton Hall Road. We ran up the hill and we ran forwards onto Heathcote Street. We turned left onto the high level A50 and at the roundabout we turned right onto Baths Road. We ran past Tesco before turning right into Longton Interchange. Once off the bus Once off we walked over to Tesco and Matthew used the toilet. The taxi appeared and it was an Autocabs taxi. We got in the taxi and we set off onto baths Road past the site of the new Costa Coffee. We turned right onto the Westbound A50 and we came off at Heron Cross. We turned right onto Blurton Road and we went through the lights onto Heron Street. We ran forwards onto Station Bridge Road and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We stopped at the end near to Temple Street. We got out of the taxi and we walked onto Temple Street and back into the residential unit. Matthew went back to his room. Matthew had a can of Irn Bru. Later on Matthew went downstairs for the party. He ate sausage roll & pizza washed down with a cup of Coke. Afterwards he had a slice of Chocolate Cake. After the party. we set off onto Temple Street. In the distance we saw Temple Street church RX18 GZW. We walked onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Christchurch Street and onto Albert Square where we saw grey minibus BJ15 XSG parked up. We continued walking to the day centre. At the day centre we saw Shelton Care Group BL69 RFF parked up at the day centre.

We went to the day centre and after spending some time baking. We made a cake and afterwards Matthew used the facilities. We returned to the residential uinit. We walked along Baker Street past the of the new housing development. We turned right onto Christchurch Street. We returned onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. When Matthew got back we went upstairs and went up to his room. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. He was also going out on the bus later on. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Whilst waiting for time to got to the day centre Matthew spent time in his room watching buses. We saw E-zec patient transport YN15 FJY.

We went downstairs and we set off onto Temple Street. In the distance we saw Temple Street church minibus RX18 GZW. We carried on along Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We waited for a bus towards Hanley. After a short wait we saw First Potteries 67155 on a #23 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off down Christchurch Street. We turned left onto City Road and we joined the A52 to go under the railway line and over the A500. We continued onto Church Street and into the centre of Stoke. After a brief stop we continued around the one-way system onto Elenora Steet and right onto Copeland street. We turned left onto Glebe Street and we went under the railway line before turning left onto Station Road. We went past the railway station and due to roadworks we ran to the end of Station Road and turned right. We ran up Stoke Road and we turned right onto Avenue Road where we saw Viking Travel M455 TCH. At the roundabout we turned left onto College Road. After running the hill through Shelton we continued onto Cleveland Road and forwards onto Regent Road where we got up and got off the bus. We saw Paul's of Stoke P482 HBA. Once off the bus we walked along Regent Road towards Shelton and we turned right onto Wellesley Street. At snow Hill we went forwards onto Shelton New Road and we stopped at the college. When we had finished we walked back up Shelton New Road and we turned left onto Broad Street and we turned left onto marsh Street. We walked up Brunswick Street and onto Piccadilly. We continued onto Tontine Square and we went into Primark. After buying clothes we walked through the shopping centre and we came out onto Stafford Street. We turned left onto Percy Street and we walked up to McDonalds. Matthew had a burger and fries washed down with a cup of Coke. Once We walked along Parliament Row and and we turned right onto Old Hall Street. We walked forwards onto Lichfield Street and into the bus station. We waited for a bus to Fenton. After a short time we saw First Potteries 67151 on a #23 to Fenton.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before we sat down. we saw First Potteries 63114 on a #7A to Biddulph. We set off onto John Street and we turned left onto Bethesda Street. We crossed over the ring road and we ran down onto Regent Road and forwards onto Cleveland Road. We ran down though Shelton along College Road. We turned right onto Avenue Road and left onto Stoke Road. We ran down the hill and we turned left onto Station Road and past the railway station. We turned right onto Glebe Street and under the railway line an we ran around the one-way system in Stoke and stopped by Stoke Minster. We turned left onto Church Street and we crossed the A500 and we ran under the railway line. After climbing up the hill into Fenton we turned right into Christchurch Street where we got up and got off the bus. We walked back to the residential unit. Matthew went back up to his room. He watched buses out of the window. We saw First Potteries 44514 on a #23 to Hanley. went downstairs and we cut through onto City Road. On the way to the bus stop we saw Afford rent-a-car YR69 GPX at their garage. We continued to the bus stop and we waited for a bus towards Stoke. Whilst we waited we saw First Potteries 67650 on a #23 to Hanley.

A few minutes later we saw grey minibus CE68 GGZ heading towards Longton. A few minutes later we saw a bus approaching. As it approached we saw it was D&G Bus 44 on a #1 to 1 to Park Site.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle before sitting down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off down City Road and we ran down the hill over the old railway line to Leek and onto the A52. We ran under the railway line and over the A500 and straight into Stoke town centre along Church Street. After a brief stop in Stoke we continued along church Street and forwards onto Hartshill Road. We ran up the hill and into Hartshill. We ran forwards onto George Street and we ran down the hill into Newcastle. We turned left at the roundabout onto Barracks Road and into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we set off onto Castle walk and we stopped at Wilko. Matthew brought chicken & bacon sandwiches and a bottle of orange. Once we had finished we set off onto Hassell Street and we turned left onto High Street. We crossed over and we went to the cinema. Matthew had a cup of Coke. He went to the cinema to watch A Last Christmas. After the film Matthew went to the toilet. We walked out of the cinema onto the High Street. We turned left onto Hassell Street and we walked back to the bus station. We waited for a bus towards Fenton. A short time later we saw First Potteries 67635 on a #11 to Hanley.

We booked to Fenton and as the rear of the bus was empty Matthew took a picture inside First Potteries 67635 before we sat down.

We set off onto Barracks Road and we ran up to the Jubilee roundabout. We ran onto the A53 and around the one-way system onto the A52. We ran up George Street into Hartshill and we ran down the hill into Stoke town centre. After a brief stop we continued along Church Street out of Stoke and over the A500. We ran under the railway line and we continued onto City Road. At the top of the hill we got up and got off the bus. We walked back to the residential unit. Matthew went up to his room and chilled out on his computer. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.

Today Matthew was going to the pub for his tea and going to his Christmas party, but not before he had been to his day service. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Just before 09:00 his transport to his day service turned up and it was Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX.

We got on the bus and we set off onto the A5035 where we saw Stanton's of Stoke WR58 LHX. We crossed over the railway line into Trentham. We turned right into New Inn lane and right again into Pacific Drive. After we picked up another service user we headed back onto New Inn Lane and then onto the A5035. We turned left at Church Road and then we went Forwards onto Blurton Road through Blurton and across the A50. We went through Heron Cross and onto Heron Street. Having crossed the railway line we went forwards onto Glebedale Road and to our destination. In the morning Matthew did some baking. Matthew then went to Mcdonalds for dinner in a Intercity taxi. We set off onto Glebdale Ropad and we turned left onto City Road. We turned right onto Manor Street and we ran to the end. We turned left onto Victoria Road and we ran down to mcDonalds. Matthew went to the toilet and then had a burger and fries washed down with a cup of Coke. When it was time to go we went to the pub in a Lucky Seven taxi. We set off onto Victoria Road and we ran down the hill to Joiners Square. We crossed over the roundabout onto Lichfield Street and to our destination. Matthew went to the toilet and then had a glass of Coke. Highlights of the bus sightings included First Potteries 32081 on a #6 to Weston Coyney and MT Travel DK60 CWY. When it was time to go we got on board Shelton Care Group minibus DY08 FFX. We set off onto Palmeston Street and at the end we turned left onto the A52. We turned left up Victoria Road and we turned right into the private road on which Fenton Manor Sports Complex is situated. We ran up to City road and we turned left. We turned right onto Smithpool Road and left onto Temple Street. We then turned right onto Christchurch Street and to our destination. After a brief stop we set off onto Glebedale Road and we continued onto Station Bridge Road. We followed the road around onto Heron Street and we went through to Heron Cross. We traveled through Blurton along Blurton Road and we went forwards onto Church Road. At the end we went right onto the A5035. We crossed the railway into Trentham and then right into New Inn Lane. After dropping of a service user we got back onto the A5035 and we ran into Blurton. We got home just before 15:00. Matthew had toast and dandelion & burdock whilst he waited for the time to go out and catch the bus. As Matthew was going to the Chrsitmas party later, we decided to catch the 15:56 towards Newcastle. As I had been to the dentist I had seen any of the #22 turns earlier so the bus was going to be a surprise. We set off on foot to the bus stop all the way onto Magdalen Road. Whilst we waited for the bus we saw Stanton's of Stoke black minibus SO57 OKE going into Blurton.

A few minutes later, running around 10 minutes late the bus came around the corner and it was dud First Potteries 67604.

We got on the bus and we booked to Harpfields Road. We sat down towards the back of the bus and we set off onto the A5035. We crossed over the railway line into Trentham and we passed First Potteries 67602 on a #22 to Longton. AS we turned right into New Inn Lane we saw First POtteries 42554 on a #21 to the Trentham Hotel and First Potteries 67157 on a #21A to Trentham Gardens. We climbed the hill into Hanford and we turned right into Wilson Road. We turned left Church Lane passing City Cabs DN56 HSX and E-zec patient transport YJ16 GGX. We ran down the hill and joined the A34 and we saw white minibus R2 OGO. We crossed under the A500 into Trent Vale passing Newcastle School HX66 AUR going South. We turned right into Harpfields Road and we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of First Potteries 67604 as it continued towards Newcastle.

Once of the bus we walked back onto the A34 and we sat outside the pub whilst we waited for mum to arrive. Whilst we waited we saw First Potteries 65035 on a #101 to Stafford.

Mum arrived and we went inside the pub. As it was earlier it was a little busier than normal and we had to sit at a table away from the window. Matthew had a brunch with oatcakes followed by toffee sponge pudding with ice cream. Whilst we ate highlights of the passing buses included dud First Potteries 32627 on a #101 service to Stafford. When it was time to go we got in the car to go home and we went South down the A34. WE turned right onto the A500 and we saw an unidentified Target Travel coach. WE turned right onto the A50 and we run up to Heron Cross. We ran through Blurton along Blurton Road and we stopped briefly at the shop to pick something up. We then continued along Blurton Road and turned right onto Church Road. We turned right onto Beaconsfield Drive and we got home around 17:30. Matthew got ready to go to his party and we set of around 18:30. We ran down through Blurton along Beaconsfield Drive and we turned left into Church Road. We continued onto BLurton Road and we turned right onto the A50. We turned left onto the A50 Link Road and we joined Victoria Road. Close to the park we saw Viking Travel coach M134 GAP parked at the side of the road. We continued down to joiners Square and we turned right onto the A52. We turned right onto Austen Street and right again to the Joiners Square Community Centre where his party was being held. Outside the venue were a few minibuses. One of the minibus was Shelton Care Group DN60 UKL.

We left Matthew ate the party where he drank Coke and ate the party food as well as dance! We returned to pick Matthew and we had uncle Dave in the car with us. Outside the venue this time was Afford Rent a Car HN16 CNC. We returned onto the A52 and back home up Victoria Road where we passed First Potteries 63178 on a #6 to Hanley. We ran back to Blurton via the A50 link road, the A50 and Heron Cross. We then continued along Blurton Road and turned right onto Church Road. We turned right onto Beaconsfield Drive and we got home around 22:00. Matthew then chilled out on his computer until bedtime around 00:30... Mark
