Trip to Fenton / Hanley 05-04-2017

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Around 09:00 Matthew walked to the day centre. We set off onto Christchurch Street and to the day centre. In the morning Matthew was going out on the bus. We set off on foot onto Glebedale Road and we crossed over city Road. We saw new to Stanton's of Stoke Mercedes minibus YN54 DCV.

On the roundabout we turned sharp left onto Victoria Road and we stood at the stop to wait for a bus to Hanley. Whilst we waited we saw Z Carz minibus NA06 SUO going towards Longton.

A few minutes later we saw the bus approaching an it was dud First Potteries 63096 on a #6 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off down Victoria Road and we ran down the hill towards Joiners Square and at the roundabout we went straight across onto Lichfield Street. We crossed over the ring road and at the stop outside the bus station we got up and got off the bus. Once we got off the bus we went inside the bus station to catch a bus to Newcastle. A few minutes later we saw First Potteries 66302 on a #4A to Talke Pits.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station and onto John Street. At the bottom of the road we turned right onto Bethesda Street. We turned left onto Broad Street and then we joined the clockwise ring road. At the end we turned left onto Etruria Road before going under the A53 onto Festival Way. We ran past Waterworld and we turned left onto Forge Lane past a new minibus building by the Brindley Farm pub. We looped under the A53 and we joined the Westbound A53. We crossed over the A500 at Etruria and and we ran up the hill into Basford. We ran down hill to the edge of Newcastle and we got onto the one way system. At the jubilee roundabout we turned left onto Barracks Road before turning right into the bus station. We got up and got off the bus and we walked through Queens Garden where we saw Grandma & Grandad. We turned left onto Ironmarket and we then went to the Arnold Machin pub. Matthew went to the toilet and then had a drink of Coke. After a quick stop we returned to the bus station along Stubbs Street. We stopped at Home Bargains where picked up a spare set of bedding and some more pillows for the residential unit. We returned to the bus station to wait for a bus back to Fenton. A few minutes later required D&G Bus Solo 114 appeared on 'The Orange ONE' service to Meir.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off onto Barracks Road and we got onto the A53 and the one-way system. We followed the road around onto the A52 and we ran up George Street into Hartshill. We ran through town and then down the hill onto Church Street and into Stoke town centre. After passing through Stoke we continued along Church Street and over the A500 onto City Road. We ran under the railway line and up the hill into Fenton where we got p and got off the bus. We then walked over to the day centre for dinner. Matthew had pizza followed by followed by cheesecake. In the afternoon Matthew watched a DVD. When it was tinme to go back to the residential unit set off on foot onto Christchurch Street and right onto Temple Street. Once Matthew got back he went up to his room and had some toast. We put the new bedding in the washing machine and then chilled out in the room. We saw Scraggs coach MUI 2888 heading towards Stoke.

For tea Matthew had fish fingers and chips followed by Bakewell tart for afters. After tea Matthew went out to do some shopping. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. After crossing over City Road we walked along Manor Street. At the end we turned left onto Victoria Road and we crossed over the old railway line before turning left into Aldi. In the shop Matthew brought some Bakewell tarts as well as other foodstuffs. We the returned to the residential in a Lucky Seven taxi. We set off onto Victoria Road and we ran through the private road on which the swimming baths are situated. At the end we turned left onto City Road and right into Smithpool Road. We turned left onto Temple Street and we returned to the residential unit. Once Matthew had put his shopping away he had a bath. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.
