Trip to Hanley / Smallthorne 09-10-2017

Today Matthew was in residential and he was going to his day service. Matthew was also going to visit his uncle Dave later on. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Whilst waiting to go to the day service we saw First Potteries 43876 on a #11 to Hanley.

Around 09:00 we set off on foot to the day centre. We walked onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Christchurch Street and to the day centre. At the day centre. In the morning we went on the bus to Hanley. We set off on foot onto City Road and we crossed over. We walked around the corner onto Victoria Road and we waited at the bus stop for a bus to Hanley. A few minutes later the bus appeared and it was First Potteries 63171 on a #6 to Hanley. We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before we sat down. We set off down Victoria Road and we crossed over the A52 at Joiners Square. We ran up Lichfield Street and we crossed over the ring road. We then got up and got off the bus at the stop outside the bus station. Once off the bus we set off up Lichfield Street we saw Premier Travel minibus LS58 EYB. We continued onto Tontine Street and through Tontine Square to Primark where Matthew went clothes shopping. When we had finished we walked along Parliament Row to Pounland. Matthew brought a can of 2 cans of Pepsi. Matthew then visited Pound Bakery an brought Iced Fairy Cakes to take back to the residential unit. We walked back to the bus station and then we waited for a bus back to Fenton. A few minutes later we saw First Potteries 63179 on a #6A to Blythe Bridge.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off up Lichfield Street and we turned right into Birch Terrace. We followed the road around to the left onto Charles Street. At the top we turned right onto Old Hall Street before turning right onto the ring road. We turned left onto Lichfield Street and we ran down the hill to Joiners Square. We crossed the roundabout onto Victoria Road and we ran up the hill into Fenton. At the top of the hill we got up and got off the bus. One off the bus we set off on foot onto City Road and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We turned right onto Temple Street and back to the day centre. For dinner Matthew had a ham sandwich followed by a Bakewell Tart. in the afternoon Matthew watched a DVD. When it was time to return to the residential unit we set off on foot onto Christchurch Street. We turned left onto Temple Street and back to the unit. Matthew went up to his room to chill out and us his computer. We saw First Potteries 67650 on a #11 to Hanley.

As mum was working this evening I brought uncle Dave along to help take Matthew out for tea. Once Matthew was ready we went down to the car and we went onto Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We went across City Road onto Manor Street and at the end we turned left onto Victoria Road. We ran down the hill to Joiners Square and we ran over the roundabout onto Lichfield Street towards Hanley. We ran anti-clockwise and we ran around to Town Road. We ran out of town and we joined the A5272. We were stuck there for quite a while as there were roadwork neat to the bridge over the A53. After we passed the road works we ran up to Smallthorne and we turned left onto Sneyd Hill and we saw 2 unidentified red minibuses. We went down the hill and we stopped at the cafe. We went inside and found a table and we ordered the food. Matthew had a breakfast which we washed down with a small bottle of Coke. He also helped uncle Dave by eating a couple of rounds of chips sandwiches off uncle Daves plate. Whilst we at we saw Richard Taylor Travel Y10 RTT going towards Cobridge. When we had finished eating uncle Dave escorted Matthew to the toilets and I paid for the food. We returned to the car and we decided to go back a different way to try and avoid the traffic. We ran towards Cobridge and at the crossroad we turned left onto North Road and then left onto the Northbound A53. We ran down into the Chatterly Valley and we ran up the hill and turned right into Newford Crescent. We turned right into Maunders Road and right into Foxley Lane. We turned left onto Redhills Road and we went over the canal. We ran to the end and we turned left onto Birches Head Road. We turned right onto the A5009 and we ran Southwards through Abbey Hulton. At Bucknall we continued straight onto the A52 and we ran through Joiners Square towards Stoke. We passed nearby Stoke railway station. We continued along the A52 and we turned left onto City Road. We ran up the hill and we turned right into Smithpool Road. We turned left onto Temple Street and we went back to the residential unit. We went upstairs to Matthew's room and we did some of the Blog before we said goodbye. Matthew continued to chill out in his room watching television and using his computer. Later on Matthew had a bath. He had toast for supper before going to bed around 23:00... Mark.
