Trip to Newcastle / Trentham 04-07-2019

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. He was also going to Trentham Gardens on the bus. Matthew got up and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Whilst waiting for time to got to the day centre Matthew spent time in his room watching buses. We saw First Potteries 47520 on a #11 to Newcastle. Around 09:00 we went downstairs and we set off onto Temple Street. In the distance we saw white minibus G14 SBX.

We walked onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Christchurch Street and to the day centre. In the morning Matthew walked down to Stoke. We set off onto Christchurch Street and we turned left onto Temple Street. We went to the residential unit and we went upstairs. After getting something we went back downstairs and onto Temple Street. At the end of Temple Street we turned right onto Smithpool Road. We turned left onto City Road. We continued down the hill and under the railway line before we saw an unidentified blue minibus going towards Stoke.

We crossed over the A500 and went into Stoke town centre. We waited for a bus towards Newcastle. After a short while we saw First Potteries 67652 on a #11 to Newcastle.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle before sitting down towards the back of the bus. After a brief stop in Stoke we set off along church Street and forwards onto Hartshill Road. We ran up the hill and into Hartshill. We ran forwards onto George Street and we ran down the hill into Newcastle. We turned left at the roundabout onto Barracks Road and into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Whilst we decided what to catch next we saw First Potteries 32081 on a #98 to Ball Green. We walked out of the bus station onto Castle Walk and we visited Poundland. Matthew brought a bottle of Coke. When we had finished shopping we walked up Castle Walk and we turned right onto Ironmarket. Matthew took a picture of the old RBS bank which has now closed. This is going to be opening up as a dessert shop. We turned left onto High Street and we went to Boots. We brought some more shopping and we continued down to the bottom of street. We turned left onto barracks Road and we veered left onto Stubbs Street and into the bus station. We saw First Potteries 67635 on a #22 to Longton.

A few minutes later the bus appeared and it was First Potteries 65036 on a #101 to Stafford.

Whilst we waited for the bus to be readied for service we saw First Potteries 67662 on a #98 to Ball Green. Once First Potteries 65036 was ready we got on the bus and we booked to Trentham and sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station onto Barracks Road. We ran Southwards onto the A34 and we ran down through Trent Vale and into Hanford. We continued down through to Trentham. Near to the old entrance to the gardens we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we went to across the road the road and into Trentham Gardens. We walked around the North end of the lake and we went to Totally delicious. Matthew had a ham sandwich washed down with bottle of Coke. We left the Gardens and we crossed over the A34. We walked along the footpath which used to be the old railway line to Trentham Gardens. We came out onto Brook Road and we turned right onto Stuart Avenue. We turned left onto the A5035 and we crossed over New Inn Lane. We went to the bus stop and we waited for a bus towards Longton. Whilst we waited we saw Stanton's of Stoke DRZ 404 going towards Blurton.

A short time later we saw the bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 67635 on a #22 to Longton.

We got on the bus and we booked to Longton before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off along Longton Road towards Blurton. We crossed over the canal and the railway line and into Blurton and we turned left into Magdalen Road. At the junction we followed the road around to the right onto Finstock Avenue. We turned left onto Beaconsfield Drive and we ran through the estate to the other end. We turned left onto Church Road and at the the roundabout we turned left onto Blurton Road we saw Lucky Seven SM12 HGX in the BP garage. We ran to the bottom of the hill and we turned right onto Longton Hall Road. We ran up the hill and we ran forwards onto Heathcote Street. We turned left onto the high level A50 and at the roundabout we turned right onto Baths Road. We ran past Tesco before turning right into Longton Interchange. Once off the bus we walked to McDonalds along Baths Road and Matthew used the toilet. Once off the bus we waited for the taxi to Fenton. When it arrived we saw it was an Intercity taxi. We set off onto Baths Road towards Longton and we did a u-turn at the roundabout. We headed for the A50 and we turned right onto the Westbound side. We came off at Heron Cross and we turned right onto Blurton Road. We ran forwards onto Heron Street and we continued onto Station Bridge Road. We turned left onto Christchurch street and left onto Masterson Street. We turned right onto Watkin Street and right onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. We went upstairs and Matthew went to his room to chill out. He used his computer and watched buses out of the window. We saw Stanton's of Stoke YSU 487 heading towards Longton. Later on we went out. We went downstairs and we went tea by car. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Smithpool Road. We turned left onto City Road. We ran down the hill and under the railway line into Stoke. We crossed over the A500 and we went around the one-way system. We ran up the hill into Hartshill and we continued to the edge of Newcastle. We ran down George Street into Newcastle and we turned right onto Ryecroft. We turned right onto A34 and we ran north through Cross Heath up to Crackley and we stopped at the pub. Matthew went to the toilet and had a glass of Coke. He had a mixed grill followed by Lemon Meringue pie and ice cream. When we had finished we set off back to Fenton. We set off onto the A34 and we ran up to the roundabout and did a u-turn. We ran back down through Crackley and Cross Heath towards Newcastle. We turned left onto Ryecroft and at the roundabout we turned right onto Barracks Road. We continued onto the Southbound A34 and we turned left onto Newcastle Lane. At the roundabout we turned left onto Hilton Road and we ran past the hospital we turned right onto The Avenue. we turned right onto Hartshill Road. We ran down to Stoke and onto the one way system. We turned right onto Elenora Street and we followed the road around onto Copeland Street. We ran forwards onto Glebe Street and we followed the one way system onto Church Street. We crossed over the A500 onto City Road and we went under the railway line. We ran up the hill into Fenton and we turned right onto Smithpool Road. We turned left into Temple Street and back to the residential unit. We went upstairs and Matthew chilled out in his room watching television and using his computer. Later on Matthew chilled out in his room. Matthew used his computer and watched music videos on the television. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.
