Today was the second day of the Yorkshire trip. Matthew got up around 09:00 and got dressed whilst we got the car sorted out. We got in the car and we set off onto Both Avenue and we turned left onto Gliwice Way. We did a u turn and we turned left onto the A638. We turned right onto the A18 and we turned left onto Town Moor Avenue. We headed Northwards and we veered left onto Thorne Road. We turned right onto Kings Road and after a bit of a wrong turning we went Northwards along the A630. We went into the industrial estate and we stopped at Euro Car Parts to but something for the car. Afterwards we went to get some breakfast. We turned right onto the A630 and left onto Harrowden Road. We turned left onto Beckett Road and we stopped near to the cafe. We sat down at a table outside and Matthew had a breakfast washed down with a can of Coke. Whilst we ate we saw First South Yorkshire 36221 going Toards Doncaster and 66820 heading towards Long Sandall. Afterwards Matthew went to the toilet and mum brough a slice of cake. When we finished we went with mum back to the car to get the trip bag and to make sure she could start the car. Once she had started the car we said goodbye and we headed up the the Doncaster bound bus stop. We waited for a few minutes and we saw First South Yorkshire 66820 on a #15 to Edlington.

We got on the bus and we booked South Yorkshire Conncet tickets at £7.40 each before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off along Beckett Road and we headed South Eastwards into town. We travelled for quite a distance and close to the North Eastern corner of town we veered left onto Broxholme Lane. We turned right onto Nether Hall Road and we turned right onto Market Road. We crossed the A630 and we ran forwards onto Grey Friars' Road. We went under North Bridge Road and we entered the Frenchgate Interchange from the North end. We got up and got off the bus and we went outside the Interchange to take a few pictures whilst we decided what we could catch. We saw First South Yorkshire 69227 on a #84 to Thorne.

We went back inside the Interchange and Matthew spotted a Barnsley bound bus. It was Stagecoach Yorkshire 27187 on a #219 to Barnsley.

We got on the bus and we booked South Yorkshire Conncet tickets at £7.40 each before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the Interchange and we turned left onto the Northbound A630. We turned left onto North Bridge Road and we crossed over the river Don. We turned left onto Sprotbrough Road and we headed Westwards out of town. We ran forwards onto Melton Road and we crossed the A1(M). We turned left onto Thorne Lane and we turned right into Main Street. We turned left onto New Lane and we re-joined Melton Road and continued Westwards. We ran forwards onto Doncaster Road and we ran through High Melton. We ran forwards onto Ludwell Hill and we turned left onto Grange Lane. We turned right onto Doncaster Road and we ran into Harlington. We turned right onto Hollowgate and we ran forwards onto Church Lane. We turned left onto Barnburgh Lane we headed Westwards out of the village. We continued for a mile or so before turning right onto High Street. We turned left onto Barnsley Road and we continued Westwards. We turned right onto tne B6098 and we crossed over the A635 and we ran into an industrial estate. We ran along Barrowfield Road and we turned left onto Pheonix Lane. We turned left onto The Windings and we turned left onto Lidget Lane. We turned right onto Windsor Street and we headed Northwards. We turned left onto Roman Street and we ran forwards onto Briton Street. We turned right onto Hanover Street and right onto Lancaster Street, We turned left onto Grange Crescent and we ran forwards onto Stuart Street and we re-joined Lidget Lane. We ran forwards onto Station Road and we crossed the railway line by Thurnscoe railway station. We continued onto the B6411 and we turned right onto School Street. We turned left onto Lingamoor Leys and left onto Merrill Road. We ran along Merrill Road and we re-joined the Westbound B6411. We turned right onto the Northbound B6273 and we ran up to Lister Row where the bus turned around before heading back Southwards. We ran forwards onto the A6195 and we turned right onto the A635. We turned left onto the B6096 and we headed through Darfield. We turned right onto Upperwood Road and we followed it to the end before turning left onto Barnsley Road. We re-joined the A635 and we headed Westwards to the edge of Barnsley. We joined the Northbound A61 and we followed this around the Eastern edge of town before turhing left onto Kendry Street. We ran forwards onto Schwabish Gmund Way and we ran past the railway station. We turned left onto Eldon Street North and we went under the railway line. We turned left and we entered the Interchange and we ran down to the South end before coming back up and going on stand. We got up and got off the bus and we had a walk around to see what we could see. We saw Stagecoach Yorkshire 28673 parked up at the North end of the Interchange on layover.

Matthew visited the toilet and afterwards we decided to get a snack. We also realised that we had not got a cable to charge the phone. We headed through town along Eldon Road North and we cut through May Day Green onto Cheapside. We went into the Alhambra shopping centre and we went to Poundstretcher to get a charging cable. On the way back we walked back down Cheapside and we stopped at Greggs for dinner. Matthew had a sausage roll and a bottle of Coke. After we had finished eating we headed down the side of The Glasshouse shopping centre and along a passageway to the South end of the Interchange. We took a few bus pictures and we enetered the Interchange to see what we could catch. We knew time was getting on so we needed to start heading back in the direction of Doncaster. We decided to head towards Wath so we could catch something forwards from there. There was a 22X to Rotherham due so we decided that would be a good start. Whilst we waited we saw Eavesway EV61 WAY come into the Interchange. A few minutes later our bus arrived on stand, It was Stagecoach Yorkshire 36986 on a #22X to Rotherham.

We got on the and we flashed the South Yorkshire Connect ticket to the driver. The bus and the bus was empty, so Matthew took a picture inside Stagecoach Yorkshire 36986 before we sat down.

We set off out of the Interchange and we turned onto Eldon Street North. We turned right onto Schwabish Gmund Way and we ran past the railway station. We joined the Southbound A61 and we followed the road around the edge of the town. We joined the Eastbound A635 and we headed out of town through Measborough Dike and Stairfoot. We joined the Eastbound A633 and we ran towards Wombwell. We turned right onto Barnsley Road and we ran through the centre of Wombwell. We ran onto High Street and forwards onto Park Street. We ran forwards onto Wath Road and we turned left onto the B6089. We crossed over the A6195 and we ran into Brampton. We veered left onto Brampton Road and we turned left onto the B6097. We turned right to follow the B6097 and we turned right onto Church Street. We turned left onto West Street and we turned right to enter Wath Interchange where we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of Stagecoach Yorkshire 36986 before it continued towards Rotherham on the #22X.

Once off the bus we set off along Montbomery Road to the centre of town. We sat in the square for a few minutes and afterwards we decided to go to the pub. Matthew used the toilet and afterwards we brought a glass of Coke and we sat outside in the beer garden. After we had drank our drinks we walked back down Montgomery Road to wait for the bus towards Mexborough. A short time later we saw the bus turn the corner. It was Stagecoach Yorkshire 26032 on a #220 to Denaby Main.

We got on the and we flashed the South Yorkshire Connect ticket to the driver. The bus and the bus was empty, so Matthew took a picture inside Stagecoach Yorkshire 26032 before we sat down.

We set off out of the Interchange and we turned right onto Church Street. We turned right onto West Street and right onto the Eastbound B6097. We turned left onto Station Road and we headed Northwards. We turned right onto Manvers Way and we ran through an industrial estate. We ran forwards onto Golden Smithies Way and we ran follwoed it to the end before tirned right onto Church Street. We ran through Swinton and forwards onto Station Street and under the railway line. We continued onto Rowms Lane and we turned right onto the A6023 before pulling into Mexborough Interchange where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew took another picture of Stagecoach Yorkshire 26032 before it conrinued towards Denaby Main.

We got on the and we flashed the South Yorkshire Connect ticket to the driver for the final time today before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off through the bus station. We came out of the interchange and we came out onto the Southbound A630. We turned left onto Cleveland Street and we turned right onto Wood Street. We turned left onto Waterdale and right onto South Parade. We ran forwards onto Bennetthorpe and we turned right onto Belle Vue Way. We continued onto South Parade and we got up and got off the bus.

Today was the first day of our weekend in South Yorkshire. Very little research was done except to look for parking around Crystal Peaks and to check the weather for the day, which was for warm sunny weather. Matthew got up around 09:30 and had toast for breakfast. We set off around 12:00 after we had a few issues with the car. We set off through Blurton and onto Beaconsfield Drive. We turned left onto Church Road and at the roundabout we veered left onto Blurton Road. We were almost out of fuel so we did a quick splash and dash at the BP garage. We rejoined Blurton Road and we continued to Fenton to pick up uncle Dave. We ran through Blurton and into Heron Cross and over the A50. At Heron Cross lights we turned left onto Grove Road. We ran forwards onto Wheildon Road and we picked up uncle Dave. After picking up uncle Dave we continued up Wheildon Road and forwards onto Grove Road. We turned right onto Blurton Road and left onto the A50. We came off at Longton and we filled up with Petrol at Tesco. Were-joined the A50 and we continued Eastwards. We ran through Meir and we saw Copeland's Tours MIB 246 at the depot. We reached the Blythe Bridge by-pass and we continued along the A50 Eastwards. We headed up the hill over the river Dove. We had already decided that we were going to have diner at The Saltbox Cafe, so we came off the A50 and joined the Eastbound A511. We continued the 2 miles or so to junction and we saw Eazy Travel GF13 VLL before we stopped at the cafe. Once at the cafe Matthew used the toilet. For dinner Matthew had a breakfast and washed down with a bottle of Coke. Whilst we ate we saw Midland Classic 15 on a #401 to Uttoxeter and Trent Barton 704 on a Villager service to Derby. Once we had finished we turned right onto Derby Road and we ran through Halton and under the A50 before joining the Northbound A516. We joined the Northbound A38 and as we ran Northwards through Derby we saw M4 hire YR64 HVM. We continued Northwards through Derbyshire and we saw Trent Barton 262(#9.3) / 841(#6X), Ambulance minibus YJ64 JXZ and white minibus BK14 DZD. We coninued up to the M1 and we got on the motorway at junction 28. On the M1 were Royal Travel OY67 DXJ, white minibus GF67 NLL, red minibus WX08 ???, an unidentified white minibus and grey minibus X103 BGX. Wecame off the M1 at junction 30 and we turned left onto the A6135. We headed North Westwards for a few miles and we turned right onto the B6053. We ran past the Halfway Park and Ride site and we turned left into Crystal Peaks and we parked up. We parked near to a sainburys and we walked clockwise around the reail park and past the Milestone pub, before finding the bus station. We saw TM Travel 1178 on layover.

We had a walk around to see what we could possibly catch. We saw First South Yorkshire 37511 on a #120 to Fulwood.

Matthew decided he needed the toilet, but was we could no find anything convenient by the bus station we went to the Milestone pub. Matthew used the toilet and afterwards we had a glass of Coke Each. After we had finished out drinks we headed back into the bus station to meet up with uncle Dave. We headed to the bottom corner to catch a bus towards Sheffield. We got to the stand and we saw it was First South Yorkshire 33869 on a #120 to Fulwood.

We got on the bus and we booked South Yorkshire Conncet tickets at £7.40 each before going upstairs and sitting down. We set off out of the bus station and we turned left onto Peaks Mount. We turned right onto Ochre Dyke Lane and we headed Westwards. We turned right onto Moss Way and we headed Northwards. We turned left onto Birley Spa Lane and we ran to the end before turning right onto Occupation Lane. We turned right onto the A6135 and we headed North Westwards. We ran through Fecheville and Intake and at Manor top we turned left onto Hurlfield Road and left onto Ridgeway Road before re-joining the A6135. We ran down the hill through Deep Pit shring the space with the tram lines. The tram lines veered off to the left and we continued along the A6135 before running forwards onto the B6070. We ran crossed over the railway line and as we approached the city centre we saw Grayscroft TJI 1679 going Northwards. We ran onto the Park Square roundabout and under the tram line. We turned left onto the A61 and past Sheffield Midland railway station. We turned right onto Hamrmer Lane and right onto Pond Street where we got up and got off the bus bus the interchange. Once of the bus Matthew took another picture of First South Yorkshire 33869 as it continued towards Fulwood.

We headed into the main part of the Interchange and Matthew went to the toilet. We did a complete lap of the Interchange to see what we might catch. We saw First South Yorkshire 47471 prked up in the middle of the interchange on layover.

A few minutes later we saw Stagecoach East Midlands 36454 on a #53 to Mansfield.

We got on the bus and we flashed the South Yorkshire Connect day ticket to the driver before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off out of the interchange onto Harmer Street and we turned left onto the Southbound A61. We ran past the railway station and we veered left onto Suffolk Road. We turned left onto the A6135 and we headed Eastwards. We followed the road to the right and we ran through Deep Pit and we ran up the hill to Manor Top. We continued through Intake and Frecheville and we headed South Westwards out through Birley. We ran through Mosborough and we ran down the hill towards Eckington. We turned right onto the B6052 and we ran into the village a couple of stops and we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew took another picture of Stagecoach East Midlands 36454 as it continued towards Mansfield.

Once off the bus we crossed the road to catch something back the other way. We realised that we had accidentally crossed the border into Derbyshire. The #252 that we hoped to see didn't appear and there didn't appear to be one heading in the right direction. We decided to walk back to the main road. When we got to the road, we saw that we were still in Derbyshire. So we walked another stop up the road until we were opposite to the cemetery. We decided to stop there, and if we got charged for a ticket we got charged. Whilst we were there Matthew had a can of pepsi and some cadbury Snack out of the bag. Whilst we waited for the bus we saw Coopers CT54 JCS heading up the hill towards Sheffield. A short time later the bus appeared. It was as expected from the map Stagecoach Yorkshire 15687 on a #50 to Sheffield.

We got on the bus and we flashed the South Yorkshire Connect day ticket to the driver before we went upstairs and sat down. The bus set off up the hill and we ran through Mosborough and Birley. We continued through Frecheville and Intake. When we reached Manor Top we turned left onto Hurfield Road and we turned right onto Ridgeway Road. We turned left to re-joined the A6135 and we headed down through Deep Pit. We ran past Kfc and we got up and got off the bus just after Park Grange Road where the tram line goes off to the West. Once off the bus Matthew took another picture of Stagecoach Yorkshire 15687 as it carried on towards Sheffield.

We headed up the road and we stopped to get a picture of the Bovril ghost sign. We went to KFC and Matthew used toilet before we brought some food. We sat outside and and we ate the chicken popcorn and ate the fries washed down with a cup of Coke. Whilst we ate we saw First South Yorkshire 33860 on a #120 to Fulwood.

When we had finished eating we walked down the road to the bus stop and we waited for a bus towards Sheffield. A short time later we saw a bus approaching. It was Stagecoach East Midlands 36511 on a #53 to Sheffield.

We got on the bus and we flashed the South Yorkshire Connect day ticket to the driver before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off down the A6135 and we ran down to the edge of town. We started to see the crowds coming out of Bramhall Lane and we ran forwards onto the Westbound A61. We turned right onto Shoreham Road and we ran forwards onto Sheaf Street and past the railway station. We turned left onto Harmer Lane and we entered the Interchange. We got up and got off the bus and we had a look around. We saw First South Yorkshire 36203 on layover.

As it was getting late we decided we had to head towards Doncaster. Whilst we waited for the bus we saw TM Travel 1174 on a #218 to Bakewell.

We waited for a bus towards Doncaster. A short time later the bus appeared and it was First South Yorkshire 36274 on a X78 to Doncaster.

We got on the bus and we scanned South Yorkshire Conncet tickets to the driver before we went upstairs and sat down. The bus was quite crowded as Sheffield United were playing at home and the match hadn't long finished. We set off out of the Interchange and we turned right onto Harmer Street. We turned right onto Pond Street and we headed Northwards. We turned right onto Fitalan Square and we turned left onto High Street. We turned right onto Angel Street and right onto Castle Street. We turned left onto Waingate and we headed Northwards. We ran forwards onto Lady's Bridge and we crossed over the River Don. We continued onto Wicker and we ran forwards onto the A6135. We veered right onto the A6109 and we ran for a couple of miles until we got to Meadowhall and we turned left into Meadowhall Interchange. The bus filled up even more and some really obnoxious youth boarded the bus and sat behind us, playing loud music and just being generally offensive to everyone! We set off out of the Interchange and we rejoined the A6109. We went under the M1 and we continued Northwards. We turned right onto New Wortley Road and we ran into Rotherham. We ran forwards onto Bridge Street and we crossed over the Down before turning left into Rotherham Interchange. After a brief stop in the Interchange we ran to the North end and we turned left onto Drummond Street. We turned right onto the A630 and we headed North-Eastwards. We ran for several miles along the A630 through Thrybergh and Hooton Roberts. We passed The Hill Top before turning left onto Mickleberg Drive. We turned left onto Maple Grove and right onto Old Road. We ran through the centre of the town and we continued onto Church Street. We turned right onto Castle Street and we ran onto Castle Hill past the Castle. We turned right onto the A6023 and left onto the A630. We continued into Warmsworth and we crossed over the A1(M). On the edge of town we crossed over the railway line and we veered left to stay on the A630. At the roundabout we turned left to stay on the A630 and we went past the railway station before turning left into the Frenchgate Interchange where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we walked out onto the entrance of the Interchange on the A630. We saw First South Yorkshire 63140 on a #73 to Doncaster.

We headed back into the Interchange to catch a bus towards the hotel. A short time later we saw a bus appear on stand. It was First South Yorkshire 36226 on a #57C Doncaster Airport circular.

We got on the bus and we scanned South Yorkshire Conncet tickets to the driver for the final time today before we went upstairs and sat down. We set off through the bus station. We came out of the interchange and we came out onto the Southbound A630. We turned left onto Cleveland Street and we turned right onto Wood Street. Once off the bus we set off along Booth Avenue and we walked along the access road to the hotel. We settled into the room and we had a sausage roll and a drink of Fanta Orange. We did some of the Blog and we wrote an e-mail. We realised the the car battery had flattened again, so mum ordered some food for supper to be delivered. Matthew had sausage chips and gravy washed down with a can of Cherry Coke. We did some more of the Blog and around 23:00 me and mum went to our room andleft Matthew uncle Dave in theirs to settle down for the night. Matthew listened to music on the laptop and watched videos until he went to sleep around 02:00... Mark

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going out on the bus and Pride Gallery of Stokies celebrating festival. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast for breakfast. before Matthew went to the day centre he watched buses out of the window. whilst waiting for the time to go to the day centre, we saw Temple Street Church minibus RX18 GZW.

Once we were ready we went downstairs and out of the residential unit. We got in the car and we set off onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Christchurch Street. We turned left onto Baker Street and we saw past the former day centre. We turned left onto Glebedale Road and right onto City Road. As we ran up onto King Street we passed the site of the new Burger King being built. We turned right onto the A50 link road and we joinrf the Eastbound A50. As the route into Longton and we joined the Eastbound A50. As we ran through Meir we saw First Potteries 65036 on a #6A to Hanley. We ran through the tunnel and past the Copeland's Tours depot where we saw NV58 YTD. We continued through to Uttoxeter and we we headed up past Doveridge and Sudbury. We came off the A50 onto the A511 and we ran South towards Hatton and we stopped at the Salt Box cafe. Matthew went to the toilet. Matthew had a breakfast washed down with a bottle of Coke. When we had finished eating we returned to the car and we set off onto Derby Road. We ran through Hilton and we joined the Northbound A516. We ran Northwards for a few miles and onto the Northbound A38. We ran to the West of Derby town centre and we continued Northwards. As we travelled up to the M1. We ran North to junction 32 and we joined the Northbound M18. We continued junction 3 and we went North on the A6182. We crossed over the A18 onto the A638 and we ranup to the Frenchgate shopping center and parked in the car park. We walked through the shopping centre and we went to Flip Out. Matthew used the toilet and had a session on the trampolines. Once we had finished we walked over to Burger King. For dinner Matthew had a burger and fries washed down with a cup of Coke. We also visited the bus station. When we had finished we returned to Fenton. We set off onto the A638 and we ran southwards out of town. We crossed over the A18 onto the A6182 and we ran down to the motorway. We got onto the Westbound M18 at junction 3 and we ran down to the end onto the Southbound M1. We ran down through South Yorkshire and Derbyshire to the junction of the A50 and then we went Westwards nearby Uttoxeter and Blythe Bridge. We ran down to Heron Cross and we came off the A50. We ran along Heron Street and forwards onto Station Bridge Road. We ran forwards onto Glebedale Road. once we got back we returned to the residential unit. We walked onto Christchurch Street and down Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went up to his room to chill out on his computer and watch buses out of the window. Later on we went downstairs and we set off onto Temple Street. In the distance we saw Temple Street church minibus RX18 GZW. We carried on along Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We waited for a bus towards Hanley. A few minutes later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 67155 on a #23 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off along Christchurch Street. We turned left onto City Road. and we joined the A52 to go under the railway line and over the A500. We continued onto Church Street and into the centre of Stoke. After a brief stop we continued around the one-way system onto Elenora Steet and right onto Copeland street. We turned left onto Glebe Street and we went under the railway line before turning left onto Station Road. We went past the railway station and and turned right. We ran up Stoke Road and we turned right onto Avenue Road. At the roundabout we turned left onto College Road. After running the hill through Shelton we continued onto Cleveland Road and forwards onto Regent Road. We turned left onto Lower Bethesda Street and we crossed over the ring road onto Bethesda Street before we turned right onto John Street and bus station. Once we got to the bus station we got up and got off the bus. We waited for a bus towards Newcastle. Whilst we waited we saw First Potteries 37146 on a #101 to Stafford. A short time later we saw First Potteries 47519 on a #4A to Wereton.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station and onto John Street. At the bottom of the road we turned right onto Bethesda Street. We turned left onto Broad Street and then we joined the clockwise ring road. At the end we turned left onto Etruria Road before going under the A53 onto Festival Way. We ran past Waterworld and we turned left onto Forge Lane past a new minibus building by the Brindley Farm pub. We looped under the A53 and we joined the Westbound A53. We crossed over the A500 at Etruria and and we ran up the hill into Basford. We ran down hill to the edge of Newcastle and we got onto the one way system. At the jubilee roundabout we turned left onto Barracks Road before turning right into the bus station. We got up and got off the bus and we set of up Hassell Street and we turned right onto High Street and we stopped at McDonalds. Matthew had a burger and fries washed down with a cup of Coke. Once we had finished we walked down High Street. We walked onto Hassell Street. We returned to the bus station and we waited for a bus to Hanley. A short time later we saw First Potteries 32649 on a #25 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before we sat down near to the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station and onto Barracks Road. We turned left at the roundabout onto the A34. we ran South as far as the hospital where we turned left. As we travelled through the hospital we saw ABC Supreme HV22 HKM. We came out of the hospital and turned left onto Hilton Road. We ran into Hartshill and we turned right onto the A52. We ran down the hill into Stoke town centre and along Church Street. After a brief stop we continued along the A52, over the A500 and under the railway line. We followed the A52 to the left and we ran alongside the railway and onto Station Road. We passed the railway station and we turned right onto College Road. We ran up the hill through Shelton and we followed the road to the right onto Cleveland Road and Regent Road. We turned left onto Lower Bethesda Street and we crossed over the ring road, continuing onto Bethesda Street. We turned right onto John Street and into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we waited for a bus to Fenton. After a while we saw First Potteries 67153 on a #21 to Newstead.

Matthew decided to go to the toilet so we let that bus go. Afterwards we waited for the next bus to Fenton. After a short while we saw First Potteries 67158 on a #23 to Newstead.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before we sat down. We set off onto John Street and we turned left onto Bethesda Street. We crossed over the ring road and we ran down onto Regent Road and forwards onto Cleveland Road. We ran down though Shelton along College Road. We turned right onto Avenue Road and left onto Stoke Road. We ran down the hill and we turned left onto Station Road and past the railway station. We turned right onto Glebe Street and under the railway line an we ran around the one-way system in Stoke and stopped by Stoke Minster. We turned left onto Church Street and we crossed the A500 and we ran under the railway line. After climbing up the hill into Fenton we turned right into Christchurch Street where we got up and got off the bus. We then walked back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to his room to chill out and watch buses out of the window. Matthew spent time in his room watching television and using his computer. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.

Trip to Worksop / Doncaster 07-12-2019

Today we decided to visit Worksop. Earlier in the week we asked Matthew where he'd like to go at the weekend and he chose Worksop. Research consisted of checking what buses ran in the town and what tickets were available. We also researched where to eat and where to park. Matthew got up around 10:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. After getting ready we set off around 11:20 on the A5035 and we ran through Dresden up to Longton. We got on the Eastbound A50 and we headed through Meir where we saw Skills YN17 OHW we ran through the tunnel and we continued Eastwards towards Blythe Bridge. We followed the A50 to the right and we ran closer to Uttoxeter. As we continued Eastwards we passed Brave New Tours BN17 JEU. We joined the Northbound A38 and we ran to the East of Derby town centre. As we ran Northwards we passed an unidentified Rowell of Prudhoe coach and National Holidays NH14 RBH. We joined the Northbound M1 and we ran up to junction 30 and we joined the Eastbound A619. As we travelled eastwards we saw Orion F14 BUS & Clarkes YE18 FMD as well as Stagecoach East Midlands 15509 on a #77 to Worksop. We ran forwards onto the A60 and we arrived in town. We turned left onto Hardy Street and left onto Central Avenue. We parked up in the little car park off Central Avenue and we walked along the road past the bus garage and we stopped at Jenny's Cafe. Matthew went to the toilet and mum and uncle Dave found a table. After Matthew had used the toilet we sat down and we ordered some food. Matthew had a full English Breakfast washed down with a can of Coke. When we had finished eating we said goodbye to mum and we set off along Central Avenue. We turned right onto Bridge Place and left onto Newcastle Street. We walked to the corner of the Street and we crossed over the road to the bus station. We walked into the bus station and we looked for a bus to catch. We saw Stagecoach East Midlands 15510 on a #21 to Doncaster.

We got on the bus and we brought a Family Day Explorer ticket at £11 bewteen us. The rear of the lower saloon was empty so Matthew took a picture inside Stagecoach East Midlands 15510.

Whilst we waited for departure we saw Stagecoach East Midlands 10061 on a #4 Manton circular. We set off out of the bus station onto Watson Road. We turned right onto Carlton Road. We crossed over the railway line by Worksop railway station and we ran forwards onto the Northbound A60. We travelled Northwards up the A60 and we ran through a series of villages. We travelled Northwards through Carlton, Langold and into Oldcotes. At the crossroads in Oldcotes we turned right onto the A634. After a few hundred yards we turned left onto the B6463. We ran through the village of Styrrup and we crossed under the A1(M). The original plan was to get up and get off in Harworth and to catch something back to Worksop, but Matthew had other ideas. In the centre of Harworth we ran forwards onto Bawtry Road and we turned right into the estate. We ran Southwards down East Street and we ran forwards onto Grosvenor Road. We turned left onto Scrooby Road and we headed Eastwards. We turned left onto Waterslack Road and we headed Northwards up Swinnow Road. We turned left onto White House Road and we turned left onto Droversdale Road and we re-joined the Eastbound side of Scrooby Road. We joined the Northbound A614 and at the strange shaped roundabout we joined the Northbound A638. We ran into the centre of Bawtry and we continued Northwards. We crossed over the M18 and we ran through the outskirts of Doncaster. We crossed the A18 and we ran onto Bennetthorpe. We continued onto South Parade and we turned left onto Waterdale. We turned right onto Wood Street and left onto Cleveland Street. We turned right onto the A630 and we divert left into the Frenchgate Interchange where we got up and got off the bus. We had a walk around the interchange and we saw Arriva Yorkshire 1609 on a #409 to Pontefract. We headed to the toilets and Matthew used the facilities. After wards we had a walk around to see what buses we could do next. We saw Stagecoach Yorkshire 28673 on a X20 to Barnsley which we though was going too far out of the way. A few minutes later we saw Stagecoach Yorkshire 22545 on a #220 to Cortonwood.

We got on the bus and we flashed the Family Explorer ticket to the driver before we sat down towards the back of the bus. As we departed we saw First South Yorkshire 30564 on a an unidentified service. We set off around the interchange and we joined the Southbound A630. We crossed over the railway line through Hexthorpe and Warmsworth. We continued South Westwards for a further couple of mils and when we got to the centre of Conisbrough we got up and got of the bus. Right behind us was First South Yorkshire 63142 on a X78 to Sheffield.

We crossed over the road and we waited for a bus back to Doncaster. Whilst we waited we saw Brown's minibus BC11 EBC going towards Doncaster.

A few minutes later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was required Stagecoach Yorkshire 22551 on a #221 to Doncaster.

We got on the bus and we flashed the Family Explorer ticket to the driver before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off up the A630 and we ran the 2 or so mile up to Warmsworth. We crossed over the A1(M) and we continued through Hexthrope to the edge of Doncaster. We crossed over the railway line and we ran the last few hundred yards up to the Frenchgate Interchange. Once off the bus we had a few minutes before the next bus Southwards. A minute or so later it arrived on stand. It was required Stagecoach East Midlands 34530 on a #98 to Gainsborough.

We got on the bus and we flashed the Family Explorer ticket to the driver for what turned out to be the final time today before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off through the bus station and we saw Arriva Yorkshire 1310 on a #408 to Pontefract. We came out of the interchange and we came out onto the Southbound A630. We turned left onto Cleveland Street and we turned right onto Wood Street. We turned left onto Waterdale and right onto South Parade. We ran forwards onto Bennetthorpe and we crossed over the ring road and onto the Southbound A638. It was now dark and we ran Southwards through the edge of Doncaster and over the M18. We continued Southwards for a further 5 miles or so through the darkness and we arrived into Bawtry. We turned left onto the A631 and we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we walked around the corner and we visited the Nisa supermarket on the High Street. We brought a bottle of Coke and a few chocolate bars. When we had finished in the shop Matthew decided he needed the toilet. We spotted an normal-ish looking pub across the road and we went in. Matthew used the toilet and afterwards he decided he wanted a Coke and a slice of lemon drizzle cake. When we had finished we went outside to find uncle Dave. Matthew decided he wanted to go back towards Doncaster, and as it was late and mum was in Worksop we needed to go in the other direction. It was decided that we would have to stay in Bawtry and mum was going to drive up to get us. We sat on a monument and Matthew had a bottle of Irn Bru. We saw a Doncaster bound bus and it was Stagecoach East Midlands 27789 on a #98 to Doncaster.

Mum called to say she had taken a wrong turning and she would be an extra 20 minutes! Whilst we waited Matthew ate a Galaxy Caramel and we saw Stagecoach East Midlands 18054 on a #22 to Doncaster. Around 18:00 mum appeared and we got in the car. She had brought Greggs sausage rolls and a bottle of Irn Bru for Matthew. We set off up Market Place and we turned left onto the A631. We travelled Westwards over the A1(M) and we ran through Tickhill before crossing the A60. We continued along the A631 into Maltby and we spotted a chip shop. After getting some food we drove for another mile or so to a parking space and we ate our food. Matthew had sausage chips and gravy. When we had finished eating we continued Westwards along the A631 and we joined the Southbound M18. We ran to the end and we joined the Southbound M1 and as we approached Woodall Services Matthew signed he wanted the toilet. After visiting the toilet we went to the shop and brought a bottle of Coke. There were a few coaches outside so we went to investigate. We saw Birmingham International BU16 UYK parked outside.

We got back in the car and we set off onto the Southbound M1 passing Travel de Courcey (NX) BV17 GOU on a #420 to Wolverhampton. We travelled down to junction 24A and we joined the Westbound A50. As we travelled Westwards we saw SMS XTrav Y90 SMS and Copeland's Tours MIB 615 returning from a day trip. We came off the A50 at Longton and we went to check out what was at the depot. We turned left into Willow Row and we saw Z Carz Renault minibus YJ61 GYZ stopped outside the depot.

We turned around and we saw Z Carz Iveco minibus YJ53 WPD in the yard. we joined the high level A50. We ran Westwards to Heron Cross and we came off the A50. We turned right onto Blurton Road and we ran through Blurton. We ran forwards onto Church Street and we turned right into Beaconsfield Drive. We got home around 20:15. We spent time doing the e-mails and doing the Blog. We chilled out on the computer and watching telly until 01:00... Mark.
