Trip to Newcastle / Norton 03-04-2020

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. He was also going out on the bus later on. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast for breakfast. before Matthew went to the day centre he watched buses out of the window. whilst waiting for the time to go to the day centre, we saw D&G Bus 134 on a #23 to Hanley.

Later on Matthew went up to Hanley on the bus. We went downstairs and we cut through onto City Road and we waited for a bus towards Stoke. A few minutes later the bus appeared and it was First Potteries 63100 on a #11 to Newcastle. We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle before sitting down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off down City Road and we ran down the hill over the old railway line to Leek and onto the A52. We ran under the railway line and over the A500 and straight into Stoke town centre along Church Street. After a brief stop in Stoke we continued along church Street and forwards onto Hartshill Road. We ran up the hill and into Hartshill. We ran forwards onto George Street and we ran down the hill into Newcastle. We turned left at the roundabout onto Barracks Road and into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we had a walk around Newcastle. We cut through from the bus station onto High Street and we visited the Restored Furniture shop. We continued up High Street and we went in the Dougie Mac charity shop. We continued up to Merrial Street and we visited Oakland Recruitment. Afterwards we cut through onto Ironmarket and down Castle Walk and back to the bus station. Once at the bus station we waited for a bus back towards Longton. A few minutes later we saw First Potteries 47519 on a #11 to Hanley. We got on the bus and we booked to Longton before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off onto Barracks Road and we ran up to the Jubilee roundabout. We ran onto the A53 and around the one-way system onto the A52. We ran up George Street into Hartshill and we ran down the hill into Stoke town centre. After a brief stop we continued along Church Street out of Stoke and over the A500. We ran under the railway line and we continued onto City Road. and we went forwards onto King Street. We ran through Foley and we under the railway line into Longton town centre. We stopped outside the old job centre as the #11 no longer calls in the Interchange. We ran up Market Street. We stopped at the cash machine and we went into the market. We walked up the Strand and we visited Cafe Delight. Matthew had sausage chips and gravy washed down with a can of Coke. Highlights of the bus sightings included First Potteries 63115 on a #6A to Blythe Bridge and Luck Seven YD63 VWR. We walked back past the bus station we saw First Potteries 67662 on a #22 to Newcastle. We got an Intercity taxi back to Fenton. We set off out of Tesco and onto Baths Road. We turned left onto King Street and we ran through Foley into Fenton. We continued onto We continued onto City Road and We turned left onto Smithpool Road and left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. We went upstairs and into his bedroom. Whilst waiting to out Matthew had some toast. to his room to chill out and watch buses out of the window. We saw First Potteries 47519 on a #11 to Hanley.

Matthew went into the living room and we saw Temple Street Church RX18 GZW.

Later on we went out. We went downstairs and we got into a car. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We crossed over City Road and we ran forwards onto Manor Street. At the end we turned left onto Victoria Road and we headed down the hill to Joiners Square. We crossed over the roundabout and we ran forwards onto Lichfield Street. We joined the anti-clockwise ring road and we ran around to Town Road. We headed towards Birches Head and we joined the Northbound A5272. We ran through Sneyd Green and up to Smallthorne roundabout. We continued onto High Lane and we ran to the end. We turned right onto the A527 and down the hill to Fegg Hayes. We turned right onto Chell Heath Road and we ran through Chell Heath past Matthew's old School which has been demolished and is going to be a new retirement complex. We continued through Bradeley and at the end of the road we turned left onto Ford Green Road and up into Norton. We turned left into Saint Nicholas Avenue and we ran into the estate. we ran to the far end and we stopped just off Barks Drive. For tea Matthew had sausages chips and gravy from the chip shop. When Matthew had finished eat he went to the toilet. We then set off back to the residential unit. We came out of the estate along St Nicholas Avenue and we turned right onto Ford Green Road. We ran to the bottom of the hill and ran up through Smallthorne to the roundabouts. We turned left onto the A5272 and we headed through Sneyd Green and to the edge of Hanley. We ran clockwise around the ring road and we turned left onto Lichfield Street. We ran down the hill to Joiners Square and we went across the roundabout onto Victoria Road. We ran up the hill into Fenton and we turned right onto Manor Street. We turned right onto City Road and we turned left onto Smithpool Road. We turned left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to his room and chilled out on his computer. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark

Around 09:00 we went downstairs and we set off onto Temple Street. In the distance we saw Temple Street church minibus RX18 GZW. We carried on along Temple Street and we turned right onto Christchurch Street and to the day centre. At the day centre we saw Shelton Care Group BL69 RFF.

In the morning Matthew did cookery and made a Victoria sponge. He also did some cleaning and used a mop. For dinner Matthew had sausage chips and gravy followed by a slice of Victoria sponge. In the afternoon we went to the pub on Shelton Care Group BL69 RFF. We set off onto Glebedale Road and we turned right onto City Road. At the roundabout we turned sharp left onto Victoria Road and we ran down the hill to Joiners Square. We crossed over the roundabout onto Lichfield Street and to the pub. Matthew went to the toilet and then had a a glass of Coke. Highlights of the bus sightings included First Potteries 67665 on a #6A to Blythe Bridge and Luck Seven YD63 VWR. After we had finished in the pub we returned to Fenton in Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX. We set off onto Palmerston Street and we turned right onto the A52. We turned left at Joiners Square roundabout and we ran up the hill into Fenton. At the roundabout we turned sharp right onto City Road. We stopped near to the health centre and we got up got off the bus to walk down to the residential unit. We walked down City Road and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We turned right into Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went up to his room to chill out and watch buses. We saw Intercity SJ57 AVZ going towards Hanley.

Later on we went downstairs and we set off onto Temple Street. In the distance we saw Temple Street church minibus RX18 GZW. We carried on along Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We waited for a bus towards Hanley. After a short wait we saw First Potteries 67152 on a #23 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off along Christchurch Street. We turned left onto City Road. and we joined the A52 to go under the railway line and over the A500. We continued onto Church Street and into the centre of Stoke. After a brief stop we continued around the one-way system onto Elenora Steet and right onto Copeland street. We turned left onto Glebe Street and we went under the railway line before turning left onto Station Road. We went past the railway station and we turned right onto College Road. where we saw A1 Embassy GJ17 OCR. After running the hill through Shelton we continued onto Cleveland Road and forwards onto Regent Road. We turned left onto Lower Bethesda Street and we crossed over the ring road onto Bethesda Street before we turned right onto John Street where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we walked up Lichfield Street We turned left onto Stafford Street. We continued forwards onto Bryan Street and we went to Cineworld. Matthew had a hot dog and Coke. He went to the toilet and afterwards he saw Spies in Disguise at the cinema. When he had finished we set off back down Bryan Street onto Stafford Street we saw First Potteries 65706 on a #18 to Leek. We turned left onto Lichfield Street and we saw First Potteries 65028. We headed into the bus station and we waited for a bus back towards Fenton. A short time later we saw First Potteries 67152 on a #23 to Newstead.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before we sat down. We saw First Potteries 63174 on a #7A to Biddulph. We set off onto John Street and we turned left onto Bethesda Street. We crossed over the ring road and we ran down onto Regent Road and forwards onto Cleveland Road. We ran down though Shelton along College Road and we ran down to the railway station. We turned right onto Glebe Street and under the railway line an we ran around the one-way system in Stoke and stopped by Stoke Minster. We turned left onto Church Street and we crossed the A500 and we ran under the railway line. After climbing up the hill into Fenton we turned right into Christchurch Street where we got up and got off the bus. We walked back to the residential unit. We set off onto Christchurch Street and left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went up to his room to chill out on his computer. Later on Matthew chilled out in his room. Matthew used his computer and watched music videos on the television. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.
