Today Matthew decided to go to Bridgnorth. Earlier in the week he had messaged and indicated that he wanted to go to Bridgnorth. Two weeks ago he had been stood at the Bridgenorth stand in Wolverhamnpton bus station and we have previously done the Bridgnorth service as far as Compton. Research for the trip consisted of looking at the local bus services, looking at the car parking and looking for somewhere suitable to have dinner as well as looking at the local bus tickets. We also checked the weather, which was due to be unseasonably warm, dry and sunny. Matthew woke up at 08:00 and had his medication. Matthew got up around 10:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. After getting ready, around 11:30 we set off to pick up uncle Dave. We set off through Blurton and we ran along Beaconsfield Drive. We turned left onto Church Street. We crossed the A50 and we turned left onto Grove Road. We ran forwards onto Wheildon Road and we stopped to pick up uncle Dave. We continued down Wheildon Road and we turned right. We joined the Southbound A500 and we head through Hanford to Hanchurch and we joined the Southbound M6. As we travelled down the M6 we saw an unidentified FlixBus coach and an unidentified Ellison's coach. Further down towards the West Midlands we were passed by National Express liveried Selwyns BV74 LMJ on a #121 to Birmingham.

We came off the M6 at junction 12 and we headed Westwards along the A5. We crossed over the A449 and a few hundred yards along the road we had to make a diversion around a closed section of the A5. We turned left onto Claygates Road and we turned right onto Four Ashes Road. We continued onto Ivy House Lane and we re=joined the Westbound A5. We continued Westwards for a few miles. We ran past Weston Park and we crossed over the A41. We turned left onto the B4379 and we ran Southwards for a few miles into Shifnal. We turned right to follow the B4379 and we turned left onto the Southbound A4169. At the roundabout we turned right to continued following the A4169 and we ran out of Shifnal. We passed through The Hem and we veered left onto the B4379. After about a mile we went straight over a roundabout and onto the A442. We ran for a few more miles before we dropped into the steep sided vally and ran into Bridgnorth. After a missed turned we went along St Johns Street and we crossed over the River Severn on Bridge Street. We followed the B4363 Southwards before turning right. We passed the Severn Valley railway and we climbed the hill into the High Town. We ran forwards onto Pound Street and we turned right onto Whitburn Street. We turned left onto Old Smithfield and we pulled into Sainbury's and parked up. We walked back to the road and we turned right onto High Street. We stopped at the pub and Matthew went to the toilet. Mum ordered the food and drink and a short time later Matthew had a burger and fries with southern fried chicken, washed down with a glass of Coke. When we had finished eating, we said goodbye to mum and we headed to the main bus stop. We walked along the High Street and we turned left onto Old Smithfield. We crossed over the road and we waited by the bus stop. We saw Arriva Midlands 2148 on a town service.

We let this bus go and a few minutes later it returned and then formed the #8 to Telford. We could have done this bus as an extra before we caught something else. A few minutes later we saw another bus approaching. As it got closer, we saw it was Arriva Midlands 3798 on a #9 to High Town.

We got on the bus and I booked an Arriva Shropshire and Telford Day ticket at £9.30 before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We decided to do this ro the end of the run and then back to Wolverhampton. We set off along Old Smithfield and we turned left onto North Gate. We veered left onto Innage Road and we saw Select Bus 6 on layover. We turned left onto The Hookfield and right onto Victoria Road. We headed back into town along Sydney Cottage Drive and we turned right onto Victoria Road. We turned left onto Salop Street and we ran forwards onto Whitburn Street. We turned left onto Old Smithfield and we stopped outside of Sainbury's. We saw Select Bus 6 pull off on a #436 to Shrewsbury and Rotala Diamond 32312 on a #125 to Kidderminster. After a brief stop we continued towards Wolverhampton. We set off along Old Smithfield and we turned right onto High Street. We passed through the centre of the town and we continued onto New Road. We joined the B4363 and we turned right onto Brudge Street and we crossed over the river Severn. We turned left onto Mill Street and right onto Southbound A442. We turned left onto Stourbridge Road and we headed Eastwards. We joined the A458 and we ran past the Bridgnorth Aluminium factory. We turned left onto the A454 and we headed Northwards. After about 1/3 mile we turned right to follow the A454 Eastwards. We then had a fast run through the countryside as we approached Wolverhampton. As we ran Eastwards we could see a plume of smoke in the sky. We ran into Compton and we turned crossed over the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal. We got to the junction of the A41 and we saw a fire engine going barreling past in the opposite direction. At the edge of Wolverhampton we turned right onto the ring road and we turned left onto Peel Street. We continued onto Pitt Street and we turned left onto Worcester Street. We turned right onto Cleveland Street and we turned left onto Carrick Street. We turned right onto Bilston Street and we ran to the ring road before turning left onto the ring road and entering the bus station from the South Eastern corner. The bus pulled onto the stand and we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we had a look around. We saw Chaserider 497 which was running out of service.

We headed out of the bus station and we walked along Queen Street. We went to the Little Dessrt Shop. Matthew had a slice of red velvet cheesecake washed down with a glass of Cherry Lemonade. When we had finished Matthew went to the toilet. Afterwards we went outside and we walked along Queen Street and met up with uncle Dave. We went into the bus station and we had a think what we could catch. We decided to have a ride on the old Lets Go1 Enviro 200's. We saw one on stand and as we got closer we saw it was Lets Go! 23 on a #11 to Underhill.

We got on the bus and we bought nBus Day tickets at £5.50 before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station and we went out of the bus station onto the anti-clockwise ring road. We turned left onto Broad Street and we turned right onto Stafford Street. We crossed the ring road and we ran Northwards up the A449. We turned right onto the A460 and we ran under the railway line. We travelled Northwards for a couple of miles and we turned left onto Chesterton Road. We ran forwards onto Dickens Road and we turned right onto Tennyson Road. We turned right onto Wildtree Avenue and left onto Westcroft Avenue where the bus terminated. We got up and the bus was empty, so Matthew took a picture inside of Lets Go! 23 before we got off the bus.

We headed into the shop and we bought a bottle of pop, a refresher chew, a chocolate bar and a flapjack. We went outside and Matthew ate the refresher chew. A short time later another bus appeared. As it got closer we saw it was Lets Go! 15 on a #11 to Wolverhampton.

We got on the bus and we flashed the nBus Day ticket to the driver. The bus was empty so Matthew took another picture of Lets Go! 15 before we sat down towards the back of the bus.

After awaiting time we set off along Westcroft Avenue and we turned left onto Underhill Lane. We turned left onto Edge Hill Avenue and left onto Wildtree Avenue. We turned right onto Tennyson Road and we turned left onto Dickens Road. We ran forwards onto Chesterton Road and we turned right to join the Southbound A460. We crossed under the freight line and we ran closer to the town centre. We went under the main line and we turned left onto the A449. We crossed over the ring road and ran forwards onto Stafford Street. We turned left onto Broad Street and we turned right onto the dedicated bus lane by the ring road. We entered the bus station and we got up and got off the bus. We had a look around for some thing to catch. Mum got in touch, and we arrnage to meeting at Bentlet Bridge in about an hour after she had driven from Bridgnorth. We needed a quick out and back run before we headed to Bentley Bridge. We saw National Express West Midlands E1114 which was on layover.

Matthew decided to do something towards Dudley. A short time later we saw a bus come on stand. As it got closer we saw it was National Express West Midlands E1181 on a X8 to Birmingham.

We got on the bus and we flashed the nBus day ticket to the driver before we went upstairs and sat down. The bus set off out of the bus station and we turned left onto Pipers Row. We ran around Bilston Island we we came back onto Bilston Street. We turned left onto St Georges Parade and we turned left onto Snow Hill. We crossed the ring road and we ran South down the A4123. We ran through Parkfields past the former Gills Sausage factory. This is currently being developed into a new Lidl store. We continued into Lanesfield and we past Spring Road. We past the junction of the A463 Black Country Routes and we continued for about 1/2 mile Southwards into Roseville where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew took another picture of National Express West Midlands E1181 as it continued towards Birmingham.

We crossed over the road and we waited for a bus back into Wolverhampton. We only had to wait about 3 minutes and we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was National Express West Midlands E1143 on a #8 to Wolverhampton.

We got on the bus and we flashed the nBus Day ticket to the driver before we went upstairs and sat down. The bus set off Northwards through Rseville and past the A463. We continued into Lanesfield and Parkfields. On the edge of town we turned left onto Grove Street and right onto Dudley Road. We crossed the ring road onto Snow Hill and we ran forwards onto Garrick Street. We turned right onto Bilston Street and we ran around Bilston Island and into the bus station from the South Eastern corner. The bus pulled onto a stand and we got up and got off the bus. We needed to get back to Bentley Bridge. We spotted a bus going in the right direction. It was National Express West Midlands E1120 on a #59 to Ashmore Park.

As we considered catch this Matthew spotted another possiblity. We walked up to the next stand and we saw Rotala Diamond 32336 on layover.

As we got closer to the next stand we saw it was National Express West Midlands 2007 on a #9 to Walsall.

We got on the bus and we flashed the nBus Day ticket to the driver for the final time today before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station and we ran on the bus lane adjacent to the ring road. We turned right and we crossed the ring road onto the A4124. We headed North Eastwards towards Heath Town. We crossed the railway line and we veered left onto Wolverhampton Road. We turned right onto New Cross Avenue and left onto the A4124. We turned left onto Bentley Bridge Way and right at the roundabout to follow the road. We came to the stop and we got up and got off the bus. We found mum in the car park and we got in the car. Matthew had a sausage roll and a can of Shandy. Once in the car we set off out of the retail park. We ran forwards onto Bentley Bridge Way and we turned left onto the A4124. We turned left onto Neachells Lane and we headed Northwards. We turned right onto Lichfield Road and we ran forwards onto the B4484. We followed the B4484 to the left and we ran Northwards for about a mile. We turned right onto the A460 past the site of the former Farmhouse Inns pub which the deveopers hope to get permission to add a new store in the car park. We ran under the M54 and we joined the Northbound M6. As we ran Northwards up the M6 we saw an unidentified Flixbus, an unidentified Ellisons coach and Selwyn's (NX) on a #121 to Birmingham. We came off the M6 at junctiion 15 and we turned right onto the A519. We turned left onto Whitmore Road and we ran down to Trentham. We turned right onto the A34 and left onto the A5035. We ran into Blurton and we got back around 19:20. I went out to fetch food and Matthew uplkoaed his pictures. When I returned Matthew nhad his medication before having sausage chips and gravy washed down with a can of Dandelion & Burdock. For afters he had an egg custard. Matthew continued doing the Blog and he also wrote an e-mail. Matthew chilled out on his computer until bedtime around 01:00... Mark.

Today we decided to revisit Bilston. We gave matthew a list of nearby towns and from the list Matthew chose Bilston. Further research was done by acquiring the Bilston bus map from the Network West Midlands site. I have been unwell recently so we wanted to choose somewhere reasonably local. We checked the weather for Saturday afternoon and the best weather was South of us. It was cool, sunny and very windy with the temperature dropping during the day. Matthew got up just after 10:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. We set off at around 12:00 and today I didn't accidentally go North on Stanley Matthews Way for a change! We set off onto the A5035 and we turned North at Trentham Gardens onto the A34. We turned left onto Whitmore Road before joining the M6 and going South. Roads were clear and sunny and we mad good time down to the roadworks section South of Junction 13. We were passed passed by two coaches... First we were passed by National Express liveried Park's of Hamilton LSK 807. Shortly after this we were passed by Haytons YJ04 BOV.

We carried on down to Junction 10 before going West onto the Black Country Route. We did this to the edge of town and we went North on the A41 before turning left into church Street. We parked up on street and we walked further down the street before turning left onto a pedestrianised area and walking into the bus station. There were to Arriva vehicles on layover at the bus station when we arrived. Solo 2563 was at the rear and E200 2149 was at the front.

Before we went for dinner, we saw NX West Midlands 1446 arriving on a #34 from Walsall.

We went inside the bus station and mum ordered dinner. In the meantime I took Matthew to the toilet which took a while as the toilet was occupied. We sat down in the bus station cafe and Matthew had a breakfast with extra toast washed down with a bottle of Coke. After we had finished eating we said goodbye to mum and went outside to see what buses were about. Arriva Midlands 4786 was on the #530 to Wolverhampton.

We were considering catching this bus when we saw a step entranced Banga Travel bus pull up behind it. It was dud Banga Travel P108 HCH but we decided to do it anyway.

We got on the bus and we booked nBus day tickets at £4.60. We sat down near to the back of the bus and the bus set off out of the bus station and onto Hall Street. We turned left onto Lichfield Street and then right into Mount Pleasant. The #545 and 82 routes are almost identical. The only difference being the #545 serves an housing estate that the #82 does not. We turned right into St Chads Road and then returned back to the main road along Darlaston Lane. We headed towards portobello along Moseley Street and we passed dud Banga Travel X657 WTN going the other way on a #545. At Portobello we turned left and we headed into town along the A454 for the last couple of miles. Just before we got to town we passed another step entranced minibus. We joined the ring road before going into town near to the tram terminus and then onto Tower Street. We let the bus empty and Matthew got a picture inside Banga Travel P108 HCH.

I asked Matthew if he wanted to catch a bus from tower street or walk over to the bus station and he chose the latter. As left Tower Street was saw NX West Midlands 1782 on a #69 service.

At the end of tower street we saw hybrid double decker NX West Midlands 5421 on layover opposite.

Leaving the bus station on a #126 to Birmingham was NX West Midlands 4571.

We also saw one of Travel Express's colourful fleet. Travel Express Y854 TGH was on a #1 service to Tettenhall Wood.

We walked into Wolverhampton's huge bus station and we walked up the central isle. Opposite on a #529 to Walsall was NX West Midlands 4603.

At the top of the central isle was Travel Express W362 ABD on a #33 to Northwood Park.

We got on the bus and we flashed our nBus day tickets before sitting down near to the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station and we headed North through the town centre along the A449 and past the railway station. We turned under the railway line and we went towards Bushbury off the A449. We carried on North past Northwood Park before circling around and going back South along Primrose Avenue. people were starting to get on the bus for the inbound service but people had not finished getting off, so Matthew took a picture of the empty seats opposite to us.

We carried on South and Primrose Avenue became Wood Lane. The bus paused at the junction of a main road so we decided to get off here. Matthew got another picture of Travel Express W362 ABD before we walked around the corner.

We decided to go and check out to stops on Elston Hall Road. After we had walked past a house with 2 giant & vicious Rottwelliers, we saw that the stop on the nearside of the road was for the Bilston bound #25. We didn't want to do that to get back because it would have taken best part of an hour. We learned that on our last trip to Bilston in June 2014. We decided we would do the opposite #25 which was what we thought was a service to Wolverhampton. We checked out the time of the next bus and it was due in 5 minutes at 14:32. The time came and went and we considered walking back onto Wood Lane for the next #33, but we would stay on this side of the road until after we passed the big dogs. Going the other way towards Bilston was required NX West Midlands 4008.

Eventually the bus turned up around 5 minutes late and it was required NX West Midlands 632.

We got on the bus and flashed the tickets before we sat down. As the bus approached we noticed the Pendeford destination, but we thought it was because it wasn't the most straightforward back and it would change as it continues around. We crossed over the A449 and we went into the Fordhouses estate. The bus emptied in front of us and Matthew took a picture inside NX West Midlands 632.

We turned onto Wobaston Road. We turned onto the i54 industrial estate and we turned around to head back out, briefly pausing behind NX West Midlands 853 which was on a #54 service. After we left the estate we turned right back onto Wobaston Road and we carried on along to the next industrail estate on the left. The bus pulled up and we could tell by the drivers reaction to us sitting there that we were at the end of the run... We got up and asked the driver if it was going to Wolverhampton and he said no. The section of the route that the #25 used to do has been incorporated into the #54 Wolverhampton - Codsall route. As we spoke a #54 pulled up behind us and it was required NX West Midlands 853, but it was going towards Codsall!

We sat down near to the back and the bus set off into the countryside. We went around Bilbrook and Codsall before the bus stopped near to Bilbrook railway station. We got off and Matthew took another picture of NX West Midlands 853.

A quick check of the timetable at the stop revealed there was a bus in five minutes or so. We decided to get supplies so we race to the Shell garage nearby and we brought some Coke and chocolate. We came back to the stop and Matthew had a drink of dandelion & burdock from the trip bag supplies. A minute or so later we saw required NX West Midlands 2061 arrive on the #5A to Wolverhampton.

We got on the bus and we flashed our tickets nBus tickets. As we sat down we saw NX West Midlands 2060 going the other way. The bus set off and we crossed over the railway. As the bus went south Matthew saw that the bus in front was empty and he took a picture.

We carried on along Codsall Road. We turned left at Lowlands Avenue and we carried on into Whitmore Reans. We briefly ran along Newhampton Road West before turning left onto Evans Street. We carried on to Waterloo Road and we passed right by Molineux stadium. We joined the clockwise ring road and we went past the railway station before turning into the town. We headed back North through the town centre before entering the bus station via the bus ramp. We got off the bus and we saw Travel Express V210 ERG leaving the bus station.

On the opposite side of the bus station there was also required NX West Midlands 4022 on a #82 service.

Matthew used the toilet and then we walked up the centre isle. At the top of he centre isle was required Travel Express W143 ULR on a #11 Underhill circular.

As we walked back down we saw an old Arriva Midlands Scania. It was required Arriva Midlands 3489 arriving on a #890 service from Bridgenorth.

We had spotted that the #529 goes through Portobello when we passed by on a #545 earlier, so I asked Matthew if he wanted to do required NX West Midlands 4598 as it was on this Walsall bound service. He took a picture of NX West Midlands 4598 before we went to get on it.

We got on the bus and flashed the tickets. Matthew wanted to say hello to someone but they flatly refused to talk back to him. She ended up shout at him to go away... Not a nice person. We went upstairs and sat down opposite the staircase. The bus set off out of the bus station. We left towards the tram station and we crossed over the ring road and onto the A454. We crossed under the Wolverhampton to Birmingham line and we headed East for a couple of miles. Matthew took a picture of the empty seats opposite to us.

When we passed the crossroads at Portobello we go up and got off at the next stop. Matthew took a picture of the bus before it carried on Eastwards.

We crossed under the A454 in a subway, The charred and smoking remains of something were on the floor as we passed by. It was a bit of an intimidating area. Out of the subway we headed back towards the crossroad and we started to feel a little bit safer! As we got to the crossroad we saw required Arriva Midlands 3738 running empty towards Wolverhamton.

This had just come off the #905 Mecca Bilston - Wolverhampton bingo service. On Moseley Road we saw iGo KX07 KOD on the #53 Rocket Pool - Wolverhampton service.

There were two buses due towards Bilston... A Banga Travel bus on a #545 and a NX West Midlands #82 bus. NX West Midlands 2007 turned the corner and I asked Matthew if he wanted to do it and he said yes. So I flagged the bus down and Matthew took a picture of NX West Midlands 2007.

We flashed the nBus tickets for the last time today and we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off down Moseley Road. When we got to Darlaston Road we turned right onto Willenhall Road / Mount Pleasant. We turned left onto Lichfield street and then right into Hall Street and into the bus station. we couldnt get on stand so we did a complete lap around the bus station before stopping. The bus didn't empty as it was a through service so Matthew took a picture of the empty rear of the bus.
