Trip to Fenton / Newcastle 17-05-2017

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. Around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Matthew was feeling a little under the weather so an appointment with the doctors was booked for later. Whilst waiting to go out we saw First Potteries 67157 on a #23 to Hanley. Around 09:00 we set off on foot to the day centre. We walked onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Christchurch Street and to the day centre. At the day centre we saw Shelton Care Group DV10 JCU parked outside.

In the morning Matthew went out on the bus. We set off on foot onto Glebedale Road and we walked around the corner onto City Road. We waited at the bus stop for a First Potteries bus towards Newcastle. Whilst we waited we saw D&G Bus 112 on 'the Orange ONE' service to Newcastle.

We also saw Copeland's tours coach MIB 394 heading towards Stoke.

A few minutes later we saw a bus approaching... When it got closer we saw that it was First Potteries 63099 on a #11 to Newcastle.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle before sitting down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off down City Road and we ran down the hill over the old railway line to Leek and onto the A52. We ran under the railway line and over the A500 and straight into Stoke town centre along Church Street. After a brief stop in Stoke we continued along church Street and forwards onto Hartshill Road. We ran up the hill and into Hartshill. We ran forwards onto George Street and we ran down the hill into Newcastle. We turned left at the roundabout onto Barracks Road and into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. We walked out of the bus station towards Castle Walk and we saw First Potteries 67633 on a #97 to Wolstanton.

We continued up Castle Walk and we turned right into Ironmarket. We stopped at the pub and matthe went to the toilet before having a glass of Coke. When we had finished we returned onto Ironmarket and we turned right onto Castle Walk we stopped at Heron Foods to buy some groceries. We then continued down Castle Walk and into the bus station. In the bus station we saw D&G Bus 158 on the 'Nines' to Biddulph.

A few minutes later we saw First Potteries 67637 on a #22 to Longton.

A few minutes later the bus appeared and it was First Potteries 63096 on a #11 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station onto Barracks Road and we ran up to the Jubilee roundabout. We ran onto the A53 and around the one-way system onto the A52. We ran up George Street into Hartshill and we ran down the hill into Stoke town centre. After a brief stop we continued along Church Street out of Stoke and over the A500. We ran under the railway line and we continued onto City Road. At the top of the hill we got up and got off the bus. We then crossed over City Road and walked across the car park back to the day centre. For dinner Matthew had a ham sandwich & chips followed by cake. In the afternoon Matthew watched a DVD. When it was time to go back to the residential unit Matthew set off on foot onto Christchurch Street. We turned left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Once inside Matthew went up to his room to chill out whilst waiting for his doctor's appointment. We saw Autocabs SF58 EWL heading towards Heron Cross.

When it was time to go to the doctor we set off on foot onto City Road and we walked up to the doctor. Matthew went in and had a few tests. He turned out to be fine. On the way back to the residential unit we saw E-zec patient transport minibus YN15 FFD.

Once back at the residential unit Matthew had fish fingers & chips for tea followed by Madeira cake & custard. Matthew chilled out in his room and used is computer. Later on we went to Asda in Tunstall in a Z Carz minibus. We saw it was Z Carz PE10 MJK. We got on the bus and we ran down Temple Street onto Smithpool Road. We turned left onto City Road and we ran down the hill and under the railway line to the A500. We turned right onto the Northbound A500 and we ran up to the A5271 where we turned right. We ran into Longport and through Middleport. At Trubshaw Cross we followed the road to the left and up the hill into Tunstall. We turned right onto Williamson Street and at the roundabout we went into Asda. We picked up some Cherry Coca Cola groceries and then we returned to Fenton in an Intercity taxi. We set off onto Williamson Street and we followed the road around to the left onto Brownhills Road. We ran down the hill to Trubshaw Cross and we turned right onto the A5271. At the roundabout we joined the Southbound A500 an we ran through Etruria. We continued to Stoke where we came off the A500 onto City Road. We turned right onto Smithpool Road and left onto Temple Street and back to the unit. Later on Matthew had a bath before having some toast for supper. He then chilled out until bedtime around 23:00... Mark
