Trip to Grimsby / Longton 10-11-2025

Today we were returning from our short break in Lincolnshire. Matthew woke up around 08:00 and had his medication. He got up just after 09:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. We packed up our things and we left the caravan around 10:00. We got in the car and we set off out of the camp site onto Anthony's Bank Road. We ran forwards onto the A1098 and we ran into the centre of Cleethorpes. We turned left just after the pier and we followed the A1098 to the edge of town. We veered right onto the A180. We went left onto the A46 following a diversion and we turned right onto Brereton Avenuw. We tyrned right onto Reynolds Street and we re-joined the A180 and we headed towards Grimsby. On the edge of town we turned left onto Freeman Street and we park on the short stay parking at the side of the road. We headed into the YMCA for an early lunch. Matthew had an English Brekfast washed down with a can of Coke. Whilst we ate we watched the buses go past. Highlight of the bus included Stagecoach East Midlands 26267 on a #3 to Cleethorpes. When we had finished eating Matthew went to the toilet before we returned to the car. We set off along Freeman Street and we turned right into Albert Street West and we turned right onto Railway Street. We turned right onto Church Street and left onto Freeman Street. We turned left onto the A180 and we ran out of town. A few miles later we ran forwards onto the M180. We ran West towards Stainforth and we joined the Southbound M18. We ran to the South of Doncaster and we joined the Southbound M1. We stopped for a brief break at Woodall Services. We got out of the car and we saw silver minibus YO68 NDK parked up.

We walked into the building and Matthew went to the toilet. We got back into the car and Matthew had a can of Cherry Coke. We rejoined the Southbound M1. We ran through the roadwork for several miles. On the M1 we saw Ambicorp FJ23 BDO, Stagecoach Yorkshire 54412(#560), grey minibus LB25 XKJ and Wood Coaches 380(#131). We came off the M1 and junction and we headed Westwards along the A50. As we travelled along the A50 we saw blue minibus SF19 CEA. We continued Westwards along the A50 and ran Westwards towards Uttoxeter and Blythe Bridge. We passed Copeland's Tours MIB 116. We continued past Longton and we came off the A50 at Heron Cross. We turned right onto Blurton Road and left onto Grove Road. We ran forwards onto Whieldon Road. We stopped at uncle Dave's and Matthew used the toilet and updates uncle Dave's calendar with the details of the weekend. We said goodbye and we set off onto Wheildon Road and we ran forwards onto Grove Road. We turned right onto Blurton Road and we crossed over the A50. We continued through Blurton and we saw Scraggs VT 9389. turned right onto Church Road and we turned right onto the A5035 and we got back to Blurton around 15:10. Matthew chilled out on his computer. A few minutes later we saw silver minibus FY55 EVC go past the end of the street.

When we got home Matthew had a can of Cherry Coke. We wrote some Blog and afterwards Matthew returned to the residential unit. We got in the car and we set off onto the A5035. We turned right onto Stanley Matthews Way and we ran to the end. We turned right onto the Eastbound A50 and we ran up to Heron Cross and we turned left onto Blurton Road. We went through the traffic lights onto Heron Steeet. We carried on forwards onto Station Bridge Road we turned left onto Christchurch Street and we turned left onto Masterson Street and we saw Stafford & District Community Link LA72 OGZ. We turned right onto Watkin Street and we continued onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. We went upstairs to his room and we put all his shopping in his cupboard or in the kitchen. For tea Matthew had pasta and tuna followed by a Bakewell tart. Later on we went downstairs and we set off onto Temple Street. We turned left onto Smithpool Road. We crossed over the railway line and we walked down to the entrance of the park. Once we had finished in the park we walked back along Grove Road. We crossed over the Whieldon Road and we saw it was Travel Express YJ69 EHG. We got on the bus and we set off onto Whieldon Road and we turned left onto Smithpool Road. We turned right onto City Road and we ran up onto King Street and we went forwards onto King Street. We ran through Foley and we under the railway line into Longton. The bus stopped on Market Street and we turned left onto Anchor Road. We turned right onto Sutherland Road and we stopped at the pub. Matthew had a glass of Coke. When we had finished we returned to Fenton in Travel Express YJ69 EHG. We set off onto along Sutherland Road and left onto Anchor Road. We turned right onto Market Street and left onto The Strand and we ran under the railway line onto King Street. We ran through Foley into Fenton and forwards onto City Road and left onto Smithpool Road and left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. We went upstairs and Matthew chilled out in his room. He watched television and used his computer. Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.

On the way to the shop we saw Stagecoach East Midlands 10900 on a #3 to Bradley.

We went in the shop and we bought a can of Coke and a bounty. After payind for the shopping we crossed the road and got in the car. We turned right into Albert Street West and we turned right onto Railway Street. We turned right onto Church Street and left onto Freeman Street. We turned left onto the A180 and we ran out of town. A few miles later we ran forwards onto the M180. We ran West towards Stainforth and we joined the Southbound M18. We ran to the South of Doncaster and we joined the Southbound M1. We stopped for a brief break at Woodall Services. We got out of the car and we saw Saga Titan Travel GU70 BOJ parked up.

We walked into the building and Matthew went to the toilet. We got back into the car and Matthew had a can of Cherry Coke. We rejoined the Southbound M1 and at junction 28 we joined the Southbound A38. Due to an accident we came off the A38 onto the A6179 and re-joined the A38 after the junction. We ran South to Derby. We continued South and joined the A516 passing Hawkes Tours YJ04 FZL parked up near Mickleover. We joined the A50 and ran Westwards towards Uttoxeter and Blythe Bridge. We passed Copeland's Tours MIB 104. We continued past Longton and we came off the A50 at Heron Cross. We turned right onto Blurton Road and left onto Grove Road. We ran forwards onto Whieldon Road. We stopped at uncle Dave's and Matthew used the toilet and updates uncle Dave's calendar with the details of the weekend. We said goodbye and we set off onto Wheildon Road and we ran forwards onto Grove Road. We turned right onto Blurton Road and we crossed over the A50. We continued through Blurton and we turned right onto Church Road. We turned right onto the A5035 and we got back to Blurton around 14:06. Matthew chilled out on his computer. Matthew had Kinder Egg washed down with a can of Shandy. We wrote some Blog and afterwards Matthew returned to the residential unit. We got in the car and we set off through Burton and we ran along Beaconsfield Drive where we saw red minibus MM66 LVF parked up. We turned left onto Church Street and left onto Blurton Road. We went through the traffic lights onto Heron Steeet. We carried on forwards onto Station Bridge Road we turned left onto Christchurch Street and we turned left onto Masterson Street and we saw Stafford & District Community Link OW73 RYR. We turned right onto Watkin Street and we continued onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. We went upstairs to his room and we put all his shopping in his cupboard or in the kitchen. Matthew had a can of Cherry Coke. Matthew chilled out on his computer and watched buses out of the window. we saw Afford rent-a-car YS24 UST outside there yard. For tea Matthew had chicken and rice with naan bread followed by a cake bar. Matthew chilled in hos room for a while before we went out. We went downstairs and we and we cut through onto City Road to wait a bus to Hanley. At the Afford garage we saw Afford rent-a-car YG23 PXJ parked up. A few minutes later the bus appeared and it was First Potteries 67154 on a #23 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off down City Road and we joined the A52 and ran under the railway line. After crossing over the A500 we ran into Stoke town centre along Church Street. We turned right onto Shelton Old Road. We ran forwards onto Stoke Road. We ran under the railway line and up through Shelton. We ran up Broad Street and we turned right onto the anti-clockwise ring road. We turned left onto Bethesda Street and right onto John Street. We climbed the hill and up into the bus station. We got up and got off the bus and Matthew visited the toilet. Afterwards we went across Lichfield Street and we continued onto Stafford Street and we turned left onto Piccadilly. We stopped at Kaneshie Market and Matthew had a Peak Milk Liquid. When we had finished in the shop we set off across Piccadilly and we walked up Stafford Street. We walked through Fountain Square. We crossed over Tontine Square and Tontine Street. We walked onto Lichfield Street and we entered the bus station. Once off the bus we visited the toilet. We waited for a bus to Newcastle. Whilst we waited we saw First Potteries 63114 on a #39A to Butt Lane. A few minutes later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 67151 on a #23 to Newstead.

We got on the bus and we booked to Blurton before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus waited for time before setting off out of the bus station. We went down John Street and onto Bethesda Street. We turned left onto Broad Street. We ran down the hill and over the ring road onto Snow Hill Before we turned left onto Copeland Street. We continued forwards onto Glebe Street and we followed the road around onto Church Street. We crossed the A500 and we ran under the railway line and we continued onto City Road. At the top of the hill we got up and got off the bus. We crossed over City Road and we cut through to the residential unit. We went upstairs and chilled out in his room to chill out and use the computer. Matthew also watched buses out of the window. Later on Matthew had a bath and had toast for supper. Matthew went on his computer until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.

We turned right onto the A46 and right onto the A16. We ran past the Stagecoach East Midlands garage and we turned left onto the A180. We headed out of town and a few miles later we ran forwards onto the M180. We ran West towards Stainforth and we joined the Southbound M18. We ran to the South of Doncaster and we joined the Southbound M1. We stopped for a brief break at Woodall Services. We got out of the car and we saw silver minibus BN60 MGO parked up.

We walked into the building and Matthew went to the toilet. We got back into the car and Matthew had a can of Cherry Coke. We rejoined the Southbound M1 and at junction 28 we joined the Southbound A38. We ran South to Derby and we saw Notts and Derby 41 at one of the roundabouts. We continued South and joined the A516. We joined the A50 and ran Westwards towards Uttoxeter and Blythe Bridge. We passed Copeland's Tours MIB 104. We continued past Longton and we came off the A50 at Heron Cross. We turned right onto Blurton Road and left onto Grove Road. We ran forwards onto Whieldon Road and we saw white minibus DU61 ONA. We stopped at uncle Dave's and Matthew used the toilet and updates uncle Dave's calendar with the details of the weekend. We said goodbye and we set off to Stoke to fill up with Petrol. We ran down Whieldon Road and joined the Northbound A500. We turned left onto Church Street and we joined the one-way system. We turned left onto London Road and we went into Sainsbury petrol station. We saw City Cabs WF11 MOA parked up near to Sainsbury's. When we had filled up we headed Sout along London Road and we joined the A34 at Trent Vale. We continued into Hanford and we saw First Class Travel GM18 KXY parked up. We ran inti Trenthem and we turned left onto the A5035. We continued into Blurton passing D&G Bus 170 on a #24 to Hanley. We got back to Blurton at 15:00. We chilled out and we wrote some of the Blog. Later on we dropped Matthew back off at Fenton. We set off through Burton and we ran along Beaconsfield Drive where we saw white minibus EA07 LWW parked up. We turned left onto Church Street and left onto Blurton Road. We went through the traffic lights onto Heron Steeet. We carried on forwards onto Station Bridge Road and we turned left onto Christchurch Street and we turned left onto Masterson Street and we saw Stafford & District Community Link OW73 RYR. We turned right onto Watkin Street and we continued onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. We went upstairs to his room and we put all his shopping in his cupboard or in the kitchen. we saw silver minibus ??14 VWC. For tea Matthew had chicken & rice. Matthew chilled in hos room for a while before we went out. Later on we went downstairs and we saw it was Shelton Care Group NX13 XDJ. We got on the bus and we set off onto Temple Street. We turned left onto Christchurch Street. and left onto City Road. We ran down the hill onto the A52 and we went under the railway line. We crossed over the A500 and we ran into Stoke and on the one way system. We followed the road onto Lonsdale Street and right onto Fleming Street. We turned right onto Campbell Place and we followed the road around back onto Church Street. We ran up the hill into Hartshill and edge the edge of Newcastle we ran onto George Street. We went forwards onto the ring road and we crossed the roundabout onto Ironmarket. We parked up and and we went to the pub. For dessert he had chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. When we had finished we set off along Ironmarket to the High Street. We turned left onto Hassell Street and we walked past the bus station. We walked onto the ring road and past the new council building and into the park. After we had finished in the park we returned to the minibus. We returned to Fenton in Shelton Care Group NX13 XDJ. We got on the bus and we set off onto the roundabout and we turned right onto barracks Road. We joined the Southbound A34 and we ran down to Trent Vale. We turned left onto Harpfields Road and we went forwards onto Keelings Drive. We turned left onto London Road and we ran through Boothen into Stoke. We ran around the one-way system and onto Church Street. We crossed over the A500 and under the railway line into Fenton. We ran up City Road and we turned right into Smithpool Road and left into Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went back to the room and went on his computer. Later on Matthew had a bath and then had toast for supper. He then chilled out in his room until bedtime around 23:00... Mark.

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going out on the bus. He was also going away for the weekend to Yorkshire. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. We saw Shelton Care Group YP70 JYJ outside. We went downstairs and we set off onto Temple Street. In the distance we saw Temple Street church minibus RX18 GZW. We carried on along Temple Street and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We waited for a bus towards Hanley. We continued along Christchurch Street. We onto City Road and we saw Afford rent-a-car MT70 AFK outside there yard.

We continued to the bus stop and we waited for the bus to Newcastle. A short time later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 67173 on a #11 to Newcastle.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle before sitting down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off down City Road and we ran down the hill over the old railway line to Leek and onto the A52. We ran under the railway line and over the A500 and straight into Stoke town centre along Church Street. After a brief stop in Stoke we continued along church Street and forwards onto Hartshill Road where we saw blue minibus V604 MBL. We ran up the hill and into Hartshill. We ran forwards onto George Street and we ran down the hill into Newcastle. We turned left at the roundabout onto Barracks Road and into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Once we got off the bus we saw First Potteries 65032 on a #4 to Hanley. Once off the bus we had a look around to see what we could catch. We saw First Potteries 32639 on a #101 to Hanley.

A short time later we saw a bus to Hanley arrive on stand. It was First Potteries 63173 on a #4 to Hanley.

We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before we sat down near to the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station and onto Barracks Road. We crossed the Jubilee Roundabout and onto the A53. We ran into Basford and over the A500. We ran down into Etruria and over the A500. We continued along the A53 and we turned left onto Forge Lane. We ran out along the Lane and we crossed over the canal before we returned back into Etruria along festival Way. We crossed under the A53 onto Etruria Road. We ran up the hill into Hanley and we ran forwards onto Trinity Street. We turned right onto Stafford Street and we ran forwards onto Albion Street. We continued onto Bagnall Street and we entered the bus station. We got up and got off the bus and we waited for a bus towards Fenton. short time later the bus pulled on stand. We saw it was First Potteries 63096 on a #11 to Newcastle.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off onto John Street and we turned left onto Bethesda Street. We turned left onto the ring road and left onto Lichfield Street and we turned right onto Birch Terrace. We followed the road around onto Charles Street and we turned right onto Old Hall Street. We crossed over the ring road onto Bucknall New Road. We ran down the hill through Limekiln lights. We turned right onto Dividy Road and we saw . We turned left onto Beverley Drive and right onto Dawlish Drive. We ran through the estate and back onto the A5272. We ran up to Adderley Green. At the roundabout we turned right onto Anchor Road. system onto Commerce Street and right onto The Strand. After a brief stop we ran down the Strand and under the railway line onto King Street. We continued down through Fenton and forwards onto City Road. We went past KFC and we got up and got off at the Travers Court bus stop outside the block of flats. We crossed over the road and we headed onto Smothpool Road and we visited the chip shop to get dinner. AFter we had brough the food we walked back along Smithpool Road and turned right onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. We went upstairs nd Matthew had his dinner. It was sausage chips and gravy washed down with a can of Coke. I called Matthew up and told him we were on our way and we were going to pick him up early. Around 13:45 Matthew came downstairs and got in the car. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned left onto Smithpool Road. We turned right onto Wheildon Road and we picked up uncle Dave. We realised that Matthew did not have his batteries so we set off onto Wheildon Road and we turned right onto Smithpool Road. We turned left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to get his batteries before coming back downstairs and getting in the car. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Christchurch Street. We turned right oto station Bridge Road and we continued onto Heron Street. We crossed through the traffic lights onto Blurton Road and we turned left to join the Eastbound A50. We ran through Longton and Meir and we saw Travel Express HF64 AJU and silver minibus SD63 FGN. We followed the road to the right and we ran the 10 or so miles to Uttoxeter. We joined the Northbound A38 and we saw blue minibus CE52 YCX. We travelled Northwards through Derby and we joined the Northbound M1. Travelling up the M1 we saw Wray's of Harrogate BU14 EGF, Go North East (NX) 7139(#133), Stott's (NX) BV17 GRK(#131). We decided to have a break at Woodall service station. We pulled into the service station and we saw MPB minibus KY68 VVF parked up.

Matthew went to the toilet and we came out and saw Acklams YX16 NWH.

As we were going back to the car we saw Acklams YX18 LLO and Redfern Travel 98 RT arrive in the coach park.We got in the car and Matthew had a scotch egg and a can of Orange Fanta. We got back onto the Northbound M1 and we saw Cawthornes Travel SF54 TKY and an unidentified Snowdons coach. We got onto the M18 and we ran up to the M62. We ran a short distance to Goole and we came off the M62 ans got on the Eastbound A614. We ran through Howden and we followed the A614 up to Driffield and we joined the Northbound A1249. We ran North for about 10 miles through Foxholes before joining the Northbound A64. We ran past the park and ride site and the reatila park and we turned right onto Queen Margaret's Road. We turned left onto the A165 and we turned left by the Church and we parked up at the appartment. We came in and we settled down. Matthew had a ham sandwich and a can of orange Fanta. We decided to go out and get a couple of buses in. We set off onto the A165 and e walked up to the bus stop. On the way we saw Shoreline Suncruisers 45 on a Xandor works service. We got to the bus stop and we had a few minutes to wait. A short time later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was East Yorkshire 288 on a #10 to Scarborough.

We got on the bus asn we booked Scarborough Day tickets at £4.50. The bus was empty so Matthew took a picture inside East Yorkshire 288.

The bus set off Northwards up the A165 and we headed into Scarborough. We turned right onto Somerset Terrace and we ran forwards onto Falconers Road. We turned left onto St Nicholas Street and we ran forwards onto St Thomas Street. We turned left onto Castle Street and left onto Aberdeen Walk. We turned left onto Abelmarle Crecent and right Westborough where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew took another picture of East Yorkshire 288 as it headed off towards the depot.

Once off the bus we looked for another bus to catch. We decided to do A #7A back around to Ramshill. Whilst we waited we saw Transdev Yorkshire 3629 on a #843 to Leeds. A short time later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was East Yorkshire 277 on a #7A Eastfield circular service.

We got on the bus and we placed the Scarborough Day tickets under the scanner for the final time today. We set off along the A64 and we headed out of Scarborough. We past the retail park and the park and ride site and we turned right onto Seamer Road. We turned left onto the B1261 and we ran past Seamer railway station. We turned left onto Manham Hill and right onto Westway. Somwhere on the estate we saw Esk Valley Coaches V7 ESK. We turned left onto Overdale and we crossed over Eastway. We ran forwards onto Priory place and we turned lefy onto Osgodby Lane. We turned left onto Filey Road and we passed Esk Valley Coaches YJ22 DXC. We joined the A165 and we ran into Ramshill where we got up and got off the bus. We walked back to the apartment and we chiled out in the main room. watching TV and writing the Blo. Mum order some food so Matthew had a cheeseburger, fries and some chicken nuggets, washed down with a can of Orange Fanta. We did some more of the Blog and we wrote e-mails. Matthew went to bed around 00:30... Mark
