Trip to Crewe / Sandbach 08-08-2026

Today we decided to re-visit Crewe. We stayed fairly local as theres some work that needs doing on the car. Research for the trip consisted at looking at the football fixtures and checking the weather. The weather was for warm weather with some sunshine. Matthew woke up at 08:00 and had his medication. Matthew got up around 10:30 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. After getting ready we set off around 12:00. We got in the car and we ran through Blurton along Beaconsfield Drive. We turned left onto Church Road and at the roundabout we veered left onto Blurton Road. We ran through Blurton and into Heron Cross and over the A50. At Heron Cross lights we turned left onto Grove Road. We ran forwards onto Wheildon Road and we picked up uncle Dave. Once we had picked up uncle Dave, we continued down Wheildon Road and we joined the Northbound A500. We continued Northwards up the A500 through Etruria and Longport and we passed YMCA DK70 BVR and white minibus LK16 BCZ going the other way. We went under the M6 and we continued along the A500. We crosed over the West coact main line before we turned right onto the B5071. We stopped at the YMCA and went into the cafe. Matthew had a full English Breakfast washed down with a can of Coke. Afterwards Matthew went to the toilet. We got in the car and we continued up the B5071. We carried on over the A534 onto Mill Street and we ran around the outside of Crewe on Vernon Way. We turned left onto West Street and we parked up by the shops. We said goodbye to mum and we walked through the shopping centre past the mini golf course onto Victoria Street. We entered the bus station and we had a look around at what we might catch. We saw First Potteries 63360 on a #103 to Hanley.

We walked to the other end of the bus station and we waited for something going towards Sandbach. A short time later we saw a ubs come on stand. As it got closer we saw it was D&G Bus 5205 on a #38 to Macclesfield.

We got on the bus and we booked a D&G Network Day ticket for £7.50 before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off out of the bus station and we turned left onto Delamere Street. We followed the road around to the right onto Chester Bridge and we crossed the railway line and onto Edleston Road. At the end of the long straight road we turned left onto the A534 and we ran past the railway station ans past B&Q. We traveled Eastwards along Crewe Road. We went through Haslington and Winterley and further North through Wheelock Heath. We got up and got off here to go to the pub. Once off the bus Matthew took another picture of D&G Bus 5205 as it continued towards Macclesfield.

Once off the bus we headed into the pub. Matthew used the toilet and afterwards we had a glass of Coke. When we had finshed our drinks we headed outside and we waited for another bus. We decided to go on towards Sandbach. A short time later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was D&G Bus 577 on a #37 to Northwich. We got on the bus and we place the D&G Network Day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off thriugh Wheelock Heath and we crossed the A534 and we ran through Wheelock. We ran over the canal and into Sandbach town center past Sandbach School. When we got to the Commons and we ran onto the other side of the triangle where we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of D&G Bus 577 before it continued towards Northwich.

Once off the bus we headed into the market. We visited the sweet shop and Matthew bought some spearmint chews. We carried on through onto the High Street and we went into the bakery. We bought a millionaire's shortbread and a bottle of Coke. We walked back to through Warm Walls and we sat in the shade near to the bus stop. Matthew ate his millionair's shortbread. A few minutes later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was D&G Bus 6016 on a #38 to Crewe,

We got on the bus and placed the D&G Network Day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off along the common and we went Westwards out of the town onto Crewe Road and through Wheelock. We crossed the A534 and we ran through Wheelock Heath and Winterly, passed the pond. We continued into Haslington and turned left onto Crewe Road and we re-joined the B5077 towards Crewe Green. We crossed over the roundabout onto the Westbound A534 and we ran towards Crewe railway station. We past the railway station. We continued for around 1/2 mile before turning right into Edlestone Road. We ran into town crossing over the railway line and forwards onto Chester Bridge. We followed the road around onto Delamere Street and we turned right into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. As we got into the bus station we saw D&G Bus 6014. Matthew went to the toilet and and when he came back there appeared to be a swap of buses on the #8. We looked on stand and we saw ancient Enviro200 D&G Bus 35 on a #8 to Sydney.

We got on the bus and we placed the D&G Network Day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off out of the bus station and we turned left onto Delamere Street. We ran forwards onto Market Square and we turned right onto Market Street. We turned left onto Chester Street amd left onto Prince Albert Street. We turned right onto Earle Street and we crossed over the railway line and passed the retail park. We continued along the A532 for a few hundred yards and we turned left onto Laurestone Avenue. We turned left onto Wordsworth Drive and we turned right onto Coleridge Way. We continued onto Lansdowne Road and we turned left onto Sydney Road. I hadn't seen anywhere where we could get off and do something interesting, so I decided we should just go back to Crewe. We continued along Sydney Road and we crossed over the railway line. We continued forwards onto Remer Street and we turned left onto Wheatley Road. We turned right onto Lime Tree Avenue and we turned left onto Elm Drive. We ran to the roundabout and we did a u-turn back up Elm Drive. We turned left onto Remer Street and we continued Westwards. We turned left onto Middlewich Street and we headed Southwards. We turned left under the railway bridge and we turned left onto Vernon Way. We turned right onto the A532 and we turned left onto High Town. We turned left onto Victoria Street and we entered the bus station. We let the bus empty and Matthew took a picture inside of D&G Bus 35 before we got off the bus.

Once off the bus we looked for something to catch. Immediately we spotted another bus in the bus station. As we got closer we saw it was D&G Bus 32 on a #85 to Nantwich.

We got on the bus and we placed the D&G Network Day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station onto Victoria Street and we ran past the former pub. We turned right onto Hightown and left onto the A532. We turned right onto Frank Webb Avenue and we turned left onto Rolls Avenue. We ran around Chassagne Square and we continued along Rolls Avenue. We turned left and we headed Southwards along Minshull New Road. We rejioned the Westbound A532 and we crossed over the railway line. We turned right onto Sunnybank Road and we turned left onto Halton Drive. We turned left onto Marchfield Avenue and we re-joined the Westbound A532. We joined the A530 and we past the site of a new Wetherspoons opening in September. We headed to the edge of nantwich and we ran forwards onto the B5334. We turned left onto the B5074 and we turned right onto Beam Street. We ran into the centre of town and we pulled into the bus station. We got up and got off the bus and Matthew took another picture of D&G Bus 32.

We had a look around and we saw D&G Bus 92 on layover and we saw Mikro Coaches YJ16 DYY on layover in between runs on the #39 to Crewe.

We headed down Beam Street and we stopped at the pub. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards we had a glass of Coke. We sat near the front of the pub, and there was a charity auction going on. After we had finish our drinks we returned to the bus station. Few minutes after we got back there was some movement around the bus station. One of the buses did a lap of the bus station before coming on stand. We saw it was D&G Bus 100 on a #85 to Newcastle.

We got on the bus and we placed the D&G Network Day ticket under the scanner for the final time today before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station onto Beam Street. We turned left onto the B5074 and we turned right onto the B5334. We ran past Sainsbury's and we crossed the roundabout onto the Northbound A530. We continued Northwards for about a mile and we turned right onto the A532. We turned left onto Marshfield Avenue and we turned right onto Halton Drive. We turned right onto Sunnybank Road and we turned left to re-join the Eastbound A532. We crossed over the railway line and we turned left onto New Minshull Road. We turned right onto Rolls Avenue and we ccontinued onto Chassagne Square. We crossed the square and continued along Rolls Avenue. We turned right onto Frank Webb Avenue and we turned left to re-join the Eastbound A532. We veered left onto West Street and we turned right onto Hightown. We turned left onto Victtoria Street and we entered the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew went to the toilet. We set off through the bus station and we saw Stagecoach Merseyside 27217 on #84 to Chester.

We walked back to the car and we met up with mum. We set off onto West Street and we turned right onto Vernon Way. We turned left onto Mill Street and left onto the A534. We passed the railway station and we were passed by First Potteries 63345 on a #103 to Hanley. We turned right onto the A532 and we stopped to make an adjustment to the car. We continued to the roundabout and a car going arounnd the roundabout at speed with a trailer lost some of it's load. A pasting table slide across the roundabout! A passing driving instructor stopped to remove the pasting table from the roundabout. We turned right onto David Whitby Way past a new development site. We joined the Eastbound A500 and we saw an unidentified red and yellow foriegn coach. We went under the M6 and we continued along the A500. We saw an unidentified grey coach, 2 unidentifed Moving People coaches, Prospect Coaches (Flixbus) YS75 AYB and Cabability WA64 BRX. We came off the A500 at Sideway and we joined the Eastbound A50. We came off the A50 onto Stanley Matthews way and we saw an unidentified white coach parked up near to the Bet365 stadium. We turned left onto the A5035 and we got back around 18:30. I nipped out to get some food. Matthew had sausage chips and gravy washed down with a can of dandelion & burdock. We edited photos and we did some of the Blog. I dropped uncle Dave back home and later on we did an e-mail. Matthew chilled out on his computer until bedtime around 01:00... Mark

Today we decided to revisit Crewe. We asked Matthew on the Friday where he would like to go and he chose Crewe. Research consisted of just checking the weather which was for a cold, mainly cloudy with some sunshine. Matthew woke up at 08:00 and had his medication. Matthew got up around 10:30 and had toast and an appl and raspberry juice drink for breakfast. After getting ready we set off around 12:00. We got in the car and we ran through Blurton along Beaconsfield Drive. We turned left onto Church Road and at the roundabout we veered left onto Blurton Road. We ran through Blurton and into Heron Cross and over the A50. At Heron Cross lights we turned left onto Grove Road. We ran forwards onto Wheildon Road and we picked up uncle Dave. Once we had picked up uncle Dave, we continued down Wheildon Road and we joined the Northbound A500. We continued Northwards up the A500 through Etruria and Longport and we passed Tyrer's TYR 10R going the other way. We went under the M6 and we continued along the A500. We crosed over the West coact main line before we turned right onto the B5071. We stopped at the YMCA asnd went into the cafe. Matthew had a full English Breakfast washed down with a can of Coke. Afterwards Matthew went to the toilet. We got in the car and we continued up the B5071. We carried on over the A534 onto Mill Street and we ran around the outside of Crewe on Vernon Way. We entered the bus station and we had a look around at what we might catch. we saw white D&G Bus 5021 on a #85 to Newcastle.

We decided to catch something Northbound out of Crewe. We waited for about 30 minutes and we saw a bus come on stand. As it got closer we saw it was D&G Bus 31 on a #37 to Northwich.

We got on the bus and we booked a D&G Network Day ticket for £6.90 before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off out of the bus station and we turned left onto Delamere Street. We followed the road around to the right onto Chester Bridge and we crossed the railway line and onto Edleston Road. We got off the bus and we headed into the market hall. We bought some spearmit chews, a Twirl and a can of pop for later. We came out of the market and we headed to the toilet. The toilet was occupied so we headed into a nearby pub and Matthew used the toilet there. Afterwards Matthew had a glass of Coke. After we finished the drink we headed outside. We just missed a #38 to Crewe. We had about 30 minutes to wait for the next Crewe service. We realised there was a #38 to Macclesfield so we crossed over the common. We looked on the bus map and we saw the bus was still in Crewe running over 30 minutes late! We crossed back over the common and we waited for the Crewe bus. A short time later we saw a bus come around the common. Asit got closer we saw it was D&G 57 on a #37 to Crewe.

We got on the bus and placed the D&G Network Day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off along the common and we went Westwards out of the town onto Crewe Road and through Wheelock. We crossed the A534 and we ran through Wheelock Heath and Winterly, passed the pond. We continued into Haslington and turned left onto Crewe Road and we re-joined the B5077 towards Crewe Green. We crossed over the roundabout onto the Westbound A534 and we ran towards Crewe railway station. We past the railway station. We continued for around 1/2 mile before turning right into Edlestone Road. We ran into town crossing over the railway line and forwards onto Chester Bridge. We followed the road around onto Delamere Street and we turned right into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. As we got into the bus station we saw a Stagecoach double decker. As we got closer we saw it was Stagecoach Merseyside 15584 on a #84 to Chester. We got on the bus and we booked to Nantwich. We went upstairs and sat down just in front of the centre stairway. The bus set off out of the bus station on onto Delamere Street. As the tiop deck was empty Matthew took a picture inside of Stagecoach Merseyside 15584.

The bus turned into Edleston Road and then right onto Nantwich Road. The bus carried on along the A534 until we reached the turn for the village of Willaston. We carried on into Willaston and then turned right onto Coppice Road and we turned left and onto the A534 and we crossed over the Nantwich by-pass and we headed into town. When we got to the bus station we got up andgot off the bus and Matthew took a picture of Stagecoach Merseyside 15584 before it continued towards Chester.

We sat in the bus station and Matthew seemed to want to catch the D&G bus that was opposite to us which was on layover. We worked out that it wasn't going to depart for a while so we decided to go to the pub. Before we went to the pub we saw D&G Bus 55 on layover in between runs on the #85 to Newcastle.

We crossed over the road and headed into the pub. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards he had a small glass of Coke. We headed back to the bus station and whilst we waited we saw Mikro Coaches YJ16 DYY on a #39 to Crewe.

A few minutes later the bus pulled onto the stand. We saw it was D&G Bus 34 on a #53 to Leighton Hospital as expected.

We got on the bus and we placed the D&G Network Day ticket under the scanner. The bus was empty, so Matthew took a picture inside D&G Bus 34 before we sat down.

At departure time the bus set off out of the bus station and we saw D&G Bus 35 on a #52 to Audlem. We turned right onto the B5078 and past the site of redevelopment. We turned right onto Birchin Lane and we turned left onto the B5338. We crossed the roundabout ran forwards onto the A534. We turned left onto Church Lane and we headed Northwards. We turned left onto Wistatston Green Road and we ran turned the end. We turned right onto the A530 and we headed past the back of the Bentley factory before we turned left towards the hospital. We passed a new housing development and we entered the hospital area where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew took another picture of D&G Bus 34 before it did a #53 to Buerton.

Whilst we waited there were a couple of service going away from crewe. We saw D&G Bus 5001 on a #42 to Congleton. We sat at the bus stop and Matthew shared his Twirl with us. We saw D&G Bus 31 on a #31 to Northwich. A few minutes later we saw a bus approaching. As it closer we saw it was D&G Bus 575 on a #31 to Crewe.

We got on the bus and we placed the D&G Network Day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the hospital and we turned left onto Bob Brown Way. We turned right onto the B5076 and we headed Southwards. We crossed over the West Coast Main Line and we turned right onto Broad Street and we crossed back over the railway line. We crossed over the A532 and we ran forwards onto Hightown. We turned left onto Victoria Street and we entered the bus station from the North end and we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew took another picture of D&G Bus 575.

We messaged mum and we arranged to meet her in Asda car park. Matthew used the toilet in the bus station. We walked over to Asda and we waited in the car park. A few minutes later mum appeared and we got in the car. Matthew had a can of Coke that he bought earlier. We decided to go back home as we were close to home and get chips on the way. We set off onto Victoria Street and we ran forwards onto Flag Lane. We turned left onto Wistatston Road and we ran forwards onto the A5078 past a new building on the left. We turned right onto the A5019 and left onto the A534 past the railway station passing coach. We headed Southwards down the A532 and we turned right onto David Whitby Way. At the end we joined the Southbound A500. We ran towards Barthomley and under the M6 and we continued along the A500. As we travelled Southwards we passed 3 Caledonia Travel coaches coming the other way. We travelled through Etruria and Stoke and as we got to Sideway we joined the Eastbound A50. We came off the A50 and Heron Cross and we turned right onto Blurton Road. WE stopped at the chip shop and Matthew had 2 small sausages chips and gravy and a can of Dandelion & Burdock. We drover along Blurton Road and we turned right onto Church Road. We turned right onto the A5035 and we got back around 19:00. We went into the house and Matthew ate his sausages chips and gravy. We did some Blog and sorted out an e-mail. Matthew had his medication and afterwards I took uncle Dave home. We continued with the Blog and Matthew had a cup of Cherry Coke. Matthew went to bed around 00:30... Mark

We ran through Blurton and into Heron Cross and over the A50. At Heron Cross lights we turned left onto Grove Road. We ran forwards onto Wheildon Road and we picked up uncle Dave. Once we had picked up uncle Dave, we continued down Wheildon Road and we joined the Northbound A500. As we approached stoke we saw an unidentified Travel Express minibus behind the wall. We continued Northwards up the A500 through Etruria and Longport and we passed an unidentified Hartley's Travel coach. We went under the M6 and we continued along the A500. We crosed over the West coact main line before we turned right onto the B5071. We stopped at the YMCA asnd went into the cafe. Matthew had a full English Breakfast washed down with a can of Coke. Afterwards Matthew went to the toilet. We got in the car and we continuyed up the B5071. We turne left onto the A534 and we turned right onto the A5078. We turned left onto Wistaston Road and right onto Flag Lane. We continued onto Hightown and we turned right onto West Street. We parked up by the shops and we said goodbye to mum. We cut through Victoria Square and we we turned right onto Victoria Street. WE got to the bus station and we had a look around. We saw Stagecoach Merseyside 26051 on a #84 to Chester.

Matthew decided he wanted to head towards Winsford. We had around 20 minutes before anything in that direction. We turned down D&G Bus 57 on a #37 to Northwich. A short time later we saw a bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was D&G Bus 576 on a #31 to Northwich.

We got on the bus and we booked D&G Network Duo Day tickets at £12.00 before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station. We turned left onto Victoria Street. We turned right onto Hightown and we ran forwards onto Broad Street. We crossed the railway line and we turned left onto the B5076. We followed the road right at the roundabout and we turned left onto a new road that goes into Leighton Hospital. At the hospital there was a small bus station. We left the bus station area and we crossed turned right onto A530. We turned left onto Eardswick Lane and we turned left onto Cross Lane. We turned right and we headed Northwards up the B5074. We continbued to Glebe Green and we turned left onto Swanlow Drive. We turned right onto Darnhall School Lane and left onto Glebe Green Drive. We ran forwards onto Durham Drive and we turned left onto Dover Drive. We continued onto Mount Pleasnt Drive and we turned right onto Denbigh Drive. We turned left onto Beeston Drive and we re-joined the B5074. We turned right onto the A54 and when we got to the centre of Winsford we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of D&G Bus 576 as it continued towards Northwich.

Once off the bus we went under the A54 and we headed to Costa Coffee. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards we got some food. Matthew had a Biscoff cheesecake and a bottle of Coke. When we had finished we went outside to uncle Dave. We waited for the next bus back in the direction of Crewe. Whilst we waited we saw D&G Bus 57 on a #37 to Northwich which we had turned down earlier. A short time later we saw our bus approaching. As we got closer we saw it was D&G Bus 58 on a #31 to Crewe.

We got on the bus and we placed the Network duo day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off up the A54 and we turnbed left onto the B5074. We turned right onto Beeston Drive and right onto Denbigh Drive. We turned left onto Mount Pleasant Drive and we ran forwards onto Dovey Drive. We turned right onto Durham Drive and we ran forwards onto Glebe Green Drive. We turned right onto Darnhall School Lane and we turned left onto Swanlow DRive. We turned right out of Glebe Green onto the Southbound B5074. We ran into Church Minshull and we turned left onto Cross Lane. We went over the Shropshire Union Canal and we turned right onto Eardswick Lane. We crossed over the A530 and we ran forwards onto the B5076. We turned right onto Bobby Brown Way and we turnmed right into the hospital where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew shared a small packet of Shortbread and he had a can of Orange Fanta. We waited for bus bus towards Crewe. Whilst we waited we saw D&G Bus 48 on a #12 to Shavington.

A short time later we saw the bus we wantd to catch. As it got closer we saw it was D&G Bus 5001 on a #42 to Crewe.

We got on the bus and we placed the Network duo day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the hospital and we turned left onto Bobby Brown Way past the site of a new school. We turned right onto the B5076 and we headed Southwards down Minshull New Road. We turmed left into Rolls Avenue and we crossed over Chassagne Square. We turned right onto Frank Webb Avenue and we turned left onto the A532. We ran forwards onto the A5078 and we ram past the old railway works which is now run by Alstom. We ran alongside the Chester line and we turned left onto Harrison Drive. We ran forwards onto Delamere Street and we entered the bus station from the South end where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew went to the toilet. Afterwards we decided to head towards Nantwich. The bus was already on stand and we saw it was D&G BUs 4 on a #84X to Nantwich.

We got on the bus and we placed the Network duo day ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off out of the bus station and we went along Delamere Street and around the corner onto Chester Bridge. We went forwards onto Edleston Road and we turned right onto the A534 and we crossed over A51 at the Peacock Roundabout. Just before town we turned right onto Millstone Lane. By the tractor shop, we turned left onto Beam Street. We passed Marks & Spencer's and the library and we entered the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew took another picture of D&G Bus 4 befoer it returned on a #84X to Crewe.

We walked down Beam Street and we stopped at a pub. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards we went to the bar and ordered drinks. Matthew had a glass of Coke and we sat down near the window. Whilst we had our drinks we saw Stagecoach Merseyside 15583 on a #84 to Crewe and Stagecoach Merseyside 15567 on a #84 to Chester. When we hhad finished our drinks we walked back along Beam Street to the bus station. We saw D&G Bus 34 on a #53 to Audlem.

A short time later we saw our bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was D&G Bus 123 on a #84X to Crewe.

We got on the bus and we placed the Network duo day ticket under the scanner. The bus was empty, so Matthew took a picture inside D&G Bus 123 before we sat down.

After waiting for time, we set of out of the bus station and we turned right onto Beam Street. We passed the tractor shop and we turned right onto the B5074. We turned left onto Crewe Road and we headed out of Nantwich. We crossed the A51 and we ran forwards onto the A534. We ran through Willaston and Wells Green and we ran into Crewe. We turned left onto Edleston Road and we ran forwards onto Market Street. We turned left onto Market Square and forwards onto Delamere Street. We turned right into the bus station and we got up and got off the bus. Once of the bus we walked to the end. We saw D&G Bus 46 on a #12 to Leighton Hospital.

We called mum and we arranged to meet her in Asda car park. She was still in another shops at this point, so we walked over to asda and we went inside to get some cold drinks. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards we picked up drinks for everyone. Matthew also picked up a Twirl. We paid for the the goods and we went outside to meet uncle Dave. A few minutes later mum appeared and we got in the car. Matthew had a can of Irn Bru. We decide to go back home as we were close to home and get chips on the way. We set off onto Victoria Street and we ran forwards onto Flag Lane. We turned left onto Wistatston Road and we ran forwards onto the A5078 past a new building on the left. We turned right onto the A5019 and left onto the A534 past the railway station. AS we turned right on the roundabout we saw St Michaels Dance Troupe double decker J28 KHT. We headed Southwards down the A532 and we turned right onto David Whitby Way. At the end we joined the Southbound A500. We ran towards Barthomley and under the M6 and we continued along the A500. As we travelled Southwards we passed 3 Caledonia Travel coaches coming the other way. We travelled through Etruria and Stoke and as we got to Sideway we joined the Eastbound A50. We came off the A50 and Heron Cross and we turned right onto Blurton Road. WE stopped at the chip shop and Matthew had 2 small sausages chips and gravy and a can of Dandelion & Burdock. We drover along Blurton Road and we turned right onto Church Road. We turned right onto the A5035 and we got back around 19:00. We went into the house and Matthew ate his sausages chips and gravy. We did some Blog and sorted out an e-mail. Matthew had his medication and afterwards I took uncle Dave home. We continued with the Blog and Matthew had a can of Cherry Coke. Today we decided to re-visit Crewe. No research was done for the trip other than to check the weather which was for dry weather with some sunshine. This would be our first visit to Crewe since Arriva withdrew from the area. Matthew woke up at 08:00 and had his medication. Matthew got up at 09:45 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. We got in the car and we set off around 11:45. We got in the car and we ran along Beaconsfield Drive. We turned left onto Church Road and at the roundabout we veered left onto Blurton Road. We ran through Blurton and into Heron Cross and over the A50. At Heron Cross lights we turned left onto Grove Road. We ran forwards onto Wheildon Road and we picked up uncle Dave. Once we had picked up uncle Dave, we continued down Wheildon Road and we joined the Northbound A500. We ran up to Barthomley and we were hoping that the food van was going to still be in the layby, but it wasn't. Mum looked for somewhere in Crwew we vcould get food from and we set the sat-nav. We continued Westwards along the A500 over the railway line and we turned right onto the B5071. We ran past the DRS depot and under the railwy line and past the football ground. We turned left onto Catherine Street but we weren't able to park as there was a car right behind us. We ended uo continuing onto Frances Street and turning right onto the A534. We saw D&G Bus 136 on a #85 to Newcastle. We turned right onto South Street and we turned right onto Catherine Street. This time we were able to park up. A went around the corner and I fetch the food. Matthew had a sausage sandwich washed down with a can of Irn Bru. When we had finished eating we set off along Catherine Street and we turned right onto Wood Street. We turned left onto the A534 and right onto Edelstone Road. We turned left onto Wistaston Road. We turned right onto Flag Lane and left onto Hightown. We turned right onto West Street and we turned right into the Asda Car park. We paid for parking and we said goodbye to mum. On the way out of the car park we saw grey minibus SF68 HOJ parked up.

We walk across Victoria Street and we entered the new bus station from the North end. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards we had a look at what we might catch. We saw Stagecoach Merseyside 15585 on a #84 to Chester.

A short time later we saw a D&G bus arrive at the other end of the bus station. As we got closer we saw it was D&G Bus 30 on a #31 to Northwich.

We got on the bus and we booked D&G Network Duo Day tickets at £10.50 before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station. We turned left onto Victoria Street. We turned right onto Hightown and we ran forwards onto Broad Street. We crossed the railway line and we turned left onto the B5076. We followed the road right at the roundabout and we turned left onto a new road that goes into Leighton Hospital. At the hospital there was a small bus station. We left the bus station area and we crossed turned right onto A530. We turned left onto Eardswick Lane and we turned left onto Cross Lane. We turned right and we headed Northwards up the B5074. We continbued to Glebe Green and we turned left onto Swanlow Drive. We turned right onto Darnhall School Lane and left onto Glebe Green Drive. We ran forwards onto Durham Drive and we turned left onto Dover Drive. We continued onto Mount Pleasnt Drive and we turned right onto Denbigh Drive. We turned left onto Beeston Drive and we re-joined the B5074. We turned right onto the A54 and when we got to the centre of Winsford we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of D&G Bus 30 as it continued towards Northwich.

Once off the bus we went under the subway and across the carpark to Dene Drive. We went into the pub and Matthew had a glass of Coke. When we had finished we headed back towards what we though was the stop for Crewe. On the way we saw white minibus FL06 XSK.

We looked at the map and we realised that the stop for Crewe was now on the other side of the road. We went under the subway and the next bus was going to be a #31. Matthew wanted to do a #37 to Sandbach. We decided to go to Cosat to pass the time. Matthew used the toilet and afterwards he had a slice of Millionaire's Shortbread and a bottle of Coke. When we had finished we still had a bit of time so we walked along the A54 to the next bus stop. We had already worked out that it was going to be the same bus that we got off earlier as the #31 and #37 interwork. A short time later we saw the bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was D&G Bus 30 on the #37 to Crewe.

We got on the bus and we placed the D&G Network Duo ticket under the scanner before we sat down towads the back of the bus. We set off up the A54 and we ran up to the library. We turned left onto Dene Drive and left onto The Drumber. We turned left onto Dingle Lane and we turned right to re-joined the A54. We ran down to the roundabout and we turned right onto the A54 before we veered left onto Station Road and we ran along the narrow street towards Middlewich. At the roundabout we ran forwards into Winsford railway station. We did a lap of the car park and back out onto the main road. We turned right onto the A54 and we crossed over the railway line. We continued East for around 2 miles and we came into the West end of Middlewich. We ran around the one-way system and left onto the A54. After a brief stop at the main bus stop we turned right onto the A533. We turned right onto Long Lane South and right onto Warmingham Lane. We ran through the estate and we turned left Cross Lane. We turned right and we re-joined the Northbound A533. Due to a road closure the bus was diverted back into Middlewich. We ran alongside of the canal and back into Middlewich and we turned right onto the A54. We ran for quite a distance out of town and we crossed over the M6 at junction 18. We continued Eastwards along the A54 and we turned right to continue following the A54. We joined the Southbound A50 and we headed Southwards for a few miles before turning right onto the A5022. We turned right onto the the A534 and we crossed over the M6 at junction 17. We turned rigt onto Congleton Road and we ran into Sanbach and onto the Common where we got up an got off the bus. Once off the bus we took pictures. In front of our bus we saw D&G Bus 56 on a #37 to Northwich.

We headed to the the toilet and afterwards we visit the Morrison's Daily that used to be a McColls. Matthew had a botte of Dr Pepper and a Galaxy Caramel bar. We went outside to the common and we sat on a bench. We shared most of the large Galaxy Caramel bar and Matthew drank the botlle of Dr Pepper. A few minutes before the bus was due we got up and walked over to the bus stop. A few minutes later we saw the bus approaching. As it got closer we saw it was D&G Bus 577 on a #38 to Crewe.

We got on the bus and paced the D&G Network Duo ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off along the common and we went Westwards out of the town onto Crewe Road and through Wheelock. We crossed the A534 and we ran through Wheelock Heath and Winterly, passed the pond. We continued into Haslington and turned left onto Crewe Road and we re-joined the B5077 towards Crewe Green. We crossed over the roundabout onto the Westbound A534 and we ran towards Crewe railway station. We past the railway station. We continued for around 1/2 mile before turning right into Edlestone Road. We ran into town crossing over the railway line and forwards onto Chester Bridge. We followed the road around onto Delamere Street and we turned right into the bus station where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus Matthew went to the toilet. We headed outside to get a few bus pictures. We saw First Potteries 67175 on a #3 to Hanley.

We were outside the bus station think about what we might catch next and we saw Routemaster Buses RML2515 go past the bus station.

We walked back into the bus station to see what we might catch next. A short time later we saw a Solo SR. A closer inspcetion revelaed it was D&G Bus 46 on a #12 to Leighton Hospital.

We got on the bus and paced the D&G Network Duo ticket under the scanner before we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off out of the bus station. We turned onto West Street we turned North onto Underwood Lane. We turned left onto the B5076 and then we turned Northwards again onto Mablins Lane. We turned left onto Parkers Road before rejoining the B5076. We crossed a roundabout and then we took the next left into Leighton Hospital grounds. We got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of D&G Bus 46 before it carried on back to Shavington.

We waied for a bus back to Crewe. Whilst we waited Matthew had the rest of the Galaxy Caramel and a single Cadbury's Twirl. We saw ERS Medical FJ22 FSL. A short time later we saw a bus going in the opposite direction. It was D&G Bus 60 on a #42 to Congleton.

We looked on the bus map but the bus that we weanted to catch appeared not to be showing up on the map. A short time later the bus arrived. As it got closer we saw it was D&G Bus 48 on a #12 to Shavington.

We turned right onto Underwood Lane and we turned left onto West Street. We turned right onto Hightown and left onto Victoria Street and we entered the bus station from the North end. Matthew used the toilet and we decided that we would go to Nantwich on a #84X. Whilst we waited we saw D&G Bus 532 on a #37 to Northwich.

Once off the bus we spotted mum on Market Street. As we were about to walk down to her we saw Stagecoach Merseyside 27889 on a #84 to Crewe. Behind that was Burland Coaches YN07 OZE on what appeared to be a work service.

We visited The Market Plaice and we brought food. We headed to the car on the Civic car park and Matthew had sausage chips and gravy washed down with a can of Cherry Coke. We set off onto Beam Street and we turned right onto the B5074. We crossed over the railway line and we ran forwards onto the A51. We ran forwards onto Cheerbrook Road and forwards onto Green Lane. We turned right onto Eastern Road and right onto Rope Hall Lane. We turned left onto Main Road and we ran into Shavington. We turned left onto the B5071 and we ran Northwards. We turned right onto the A500. We ran through Talke, Longport, Etruria and Stoke. We came off the A500 and we saw Traveller's Choice SA17 ELB. At Stoke and we veered off onto Whieldon Road and into Fenton. We dropped off uncle Dave and Matthew got out of the car to use the toilet, drink some of uncle Rob's Irn Bru and update his calendar. We got back in the car and we conrinued along Wheildon Road past the former Regent which is back up for sale. We ran forwards onto Grove Road and we saw green minibus R482 NDM parked up. We turned right onto Blurton Road and we crossed over the A50. We continued through Blurton and at the roundabout we veered right onto Church Street. We turned right onto the A5035 and back to Blurton. Later on we did some more of the Blog and wrote an e-mail. Matthew ate some carrot cake and we chilled out on the sofa until bedtime around 00:00... Mark
