Today we didn't have anything planned, but viewing 30033 on the #22A service i thought we could use to it to go out for dinner. The bus was dues to work the 13;05 from Longton to Newcastle, so I thought we would do it to Trent vale so that we could have a late dinner at The black Lion. Matthew got up just before 09:00 and he had some toast and orange juice for breakfast. I viewed 30033 at 11:15 on my way home from work. Matthew got dressed and as we ad a bit of time we set off to the stop on Beaconsfield Drive around 13:05. As we waked to the stop we saw 2 of the 3 buses that work on the #22. First Potteries 40010 was heading towards longton and 40020 was heading towards Newcastle. We got to the stop and realised the batteries in his camera were flat. We didn't have time to go home and back so we called mum to fetch some batteries and meet us at the bus stop. We didn't tell her which stop we were at. She did eventually find us and after a quick battery change we saw Wardle Transport 2409 at the stop on the #46 to Hanley with a recently fitted LED display.

We then spotted First Potteries 53405 on a #23 service with a faulty display.

A couple of minutes later first Potteries 30033 appeared at the top of Beaconsfield Drive and Matthew got a picture as it approached.

We got on and booked to Trent Vale. Matthew took a picture inside as the downstairs was empty.

Inside First Potteries 30033
we went upstairs and that was empty too. He took another picture and we sat down to enjoy the journey. Matthew insisted on sitting on the original red and grey zig-zag seats! We set off through Blurton and onto the A5035. We turned onto New Inn Lane and passed the third #22 bus which was First Potteries 40017. We carried on into Hanford passing former Chesterbus Dart First Potteries 41070. On Church Lane we passed the final #22/22A turn which was being worked by First Potteries 40018. We crossed over the A34 and headed under the A500. After we passed the Black Lion we got up to get off the bus. After another quick picture of an original seat downstairs we jumped of the bus and Matthew got another picture of this fine beast which is only a few days shy of its 24th birthday!

First Potteries 30033 in Trent Vale
We walked back down the road to wards the Black Lion, crossing over the road before we got there. For some strange reason we had got there before mum so we sat on the wall to wait for her. Whilst we were there we saw First Potteries 40148 running empty presumably on test, and then we saw red and yellow #26/26A branded Scania Omnicity 65026 on the Northbound #101.

First Potteries 65026 in Trent Vale
Mum appeaerd from the wrong direction, she had been to a shop so she didn't have to wait for us. We went into the Black Lion and Matthew had his usual 2 sausage, egg, chips and beans with bacon and bread and butter. For afters he had toffee sponge pudding and ice cream. after we had finished eating we set off home via Z Carz in Longton. We joined the A34 and then turned left onto the A500. We the joined the A50 which we did up to Longton. First in the row was W344 WNS which recently had its decals removed.

He had some computer time and around 17:00 we went to pick up uncle Dave. We went down via stanley Matthew way and back through Heron Cross and Blurton. Matthew the chilled out on his computer, watch some bus DVD's. As he had had a big meal, he had an omelete for a late tea and chocolate Gateaux for afters. Today we decided to revisit Bolton. I wasn't sure why he wanted to go to Bolton this week, but given a list of places Matthew chose Bolton. I checked the football fixtures and they weren't playing at home today, they were away at Nottingham Forest. Other research for today consisted of studying the Bolton bus map and checking the weather which was for heavy rain! Matthew got up around 10:00 today. He had a slice of toast and some orange juice for breakfast. We set off around 11:45 today, going via Heron Cross and Fenton to pick up uncle Dave. we saw First Potteries 42726 on the #23A service. We got onto the A500 and we passed Ambassador Coach Travel FN52 HRG going the other way. We got onto the M6 and headed North. There was quite a bit of traffic on the road but it was moving well. We went east on the M62 and then onto the clockwise M60. We did this the short distance to the M61 and then onto the A666. At the edge of town we turned left and headed around to find a car parking space. We parked in a small car park off Deansgate within sight of the bus station. Right by the car park was one of the new buses for First Manchester 67406. It was being used for publicity on Black Horse Street, to demonstrate the quality new buses at First's Bolton depot. Matthew went on board to investigate and he was given a balloon and some stickers. I explained that we weren't local and Matthew like buses. I asked him if we were doing First or Arriva buses today and he said Arriva. That didn't go down too well! In the end as it will be seen he chose neither. I went to take the balloon back to the car and while I was unlocking the car the balloon escaped! Matthew just watched in amusement and said 'bye bye'...Matthew took an arty picture of First Manchester 67406.

First Manchester 67406 in Bolton
We saw 67403 work past on a #501 service and then we headed towards the market to get something to eat. Matthew used the temporary toilets by the market and then we went to eat at the place called the cosy cafe on the outside of the market. Matthew had a breakfast washed down with a bottle of Coke. it was at this point that I realised that I did not have my phone! i had left it on charge at home. This meant no accurate time (I don't wear a watch), no electronic memo to record bus sightings and haulage on, no communication to tell mum when we were done and no checking on which buses we had been on. Mum purchased a notebook and we had a pen and a watch off her. We agreed to meet in the bus station by the news stand at 17:00 unless I called her from a phonebox. We said goodbye and we set off through the bus station. The first ting we saw was Arriva NW&W 4058 was parked up in the bus station. As Matthew had recently done a Transdev bus or two in Blackburn I thought he may want to do one today. So I had looked up how far the bs could be done on a System One ticket, which was Egerton. We saw required Transdev Lancashire United 1873 on a #1 service and I asked Matthew if he wanted to do it and he said yes. He got a picture of it before we got on.

Transdev Lancashire United 1873 in Bolton
As I got on I thought that they might not sell System One tickets with them only visiting Greater Manchester on this service. Luckily they did, so we booked our tickets and sat down near the back. It was a very well used service with most seats being filled on the start of this journey. We set off up the very busy corridor towards Astley Bridge. Most of the other service are operated by Arriva NW&W in this direction. We saw JH Coaches minibus V949 HKW as we climbed the big hill out of Bolton. I looked at the map so we could see how we were progressing along. When we got into town as such we got off and then crossed the road. At the stop we saw there was another hourly service, which turns out is operated by First, but we had just missed that one. The next one back was due at 14:36 and was another #1 service. A few minutes later we saw the bus approaching from down the hill. It got closer and we saw it was required Transdev Lancashire United 1874.

Transdev Lancashire United 1874 in Egerton
We got on and sat down near the back. The inbound service was almost empty, a big contrast to the one we caught up to Egerton. We soon got back into town and when we got back the bus emptied out and Matthew got a picture inside this bus.

Inside Transdev Lancashire United 1874
When we got back we had a bit of a wander around taking bus pictures. We walked over to the Arriva side of the bus station and we took a picture of Arriva NW&W 4058.

Arriva NW&W 4058 in Bolton bus station
We then walked back into one of the middle stands. Arriva NW&W hybrid 4496 was out on the #534 service. I asked Matthew if he wanted to do this and he said no. We took pictures of this bus anyway.

Arriva NW&W 4496 in Bolton bus station
Behind 4496 arrived Stagecoach Lancashire 15570. At this point with no phone we didn't know if it was required. It turned out that it was required. I asked Matthew if he wanted to do this bus and he said yes. He got a picture of the bus and we walked over to it.

Stagecoach Lancashire 15570 in Bolton bus station
We booked to Horwich and went upstairs. The rear of the top deck as empty and Matthew got a picture inside the bus.

Inside Stagecoach Lancashire 15570
The bus set off through town and it started to rain. As we left the bus station we passed First Manchester 33701 on a #501 service. We also passed First Manchester 12001 on a #471 service. We headed up through Brownlow Fold and up over Montserrat Brow. We passed an unusual bus on the #125 which was Stagecoach Lancashire 15839. We then headed down the hill into Horwich. We got off one stop later than we had done on our previous bus because I though that we would have a choice of service. As we got off Matthew took another picture of 15570.

Stagecoach Lancashire 15570 in Horwich
We walked back towards the crossing and the stop back to Bolton. We had got ff too soon again as the only extra service from this stop was the #517 to Leigh. As we were about to cross we spotted and photographed Stagecoach Lancashire 15573 on the Bolton bound service.

Stagecoach Lancashire 15573 in Horwich
We casually walked over the road and the bus was still waiting at the stop. We got on the bus and went upstairs. The back of the bus was empty so Matthew took his picture here.

Inside Stagecoach Lancashire 15573
We sat down and the bus set off back towards Bolton. when we got down to Brownlow Fold we passed 33729 on the #519. we passed the Market Hall and Matthew was looking over at it. A bit further along we saw a distant Arriva DLA which was probably 4058, as it had gone by the time we got back to the bus station. When we got off the bus Matthew decided to walk back to the market hall through very heavy rain! We went up the escalators and down in the lift, and then back up the escalators when we realised where the toilets were! After using the toilet Matthew went into a few shops to say hello to people. He also took a picture of Moss. A new suit is required perhaps...?

Moss inside the Market Hall Bolton
We came out of the Market Hall and headed back towards the bus station. At this point we saw required Arriva NW&W 2565 go by towards Bolton. Matthew decided to say hello to someone and had me running about 200 yards after him as went to catch them up. We stopped at the car briefly on the way back to get a bottle of Irn Bru and to update mum on the current bus situation. By the time we reached the bus station we were all soaked through. Arriva NW&W 4057 arrived in the layover area, parking up where 4058 had been earlier. Required Arriva NW&W MPD 894 had also parked up. Arriva 4496 had returned again and I asked Matthew if he wanted to do it and again he said no. I asked if he wanted to do the stagecoach bus behind and he said yes. It was Stagecoach Lancashire 15583 which I thought might be dud and it turned out to be true.

Stagecoach Lancashire 15583 in Bolton bus station
We got on and sat down upstairs. We had been on this bus before back in June. The bus was quite well filled and as such he didn't get a picture inside. It was now 16:30ish and we knew we couldn't do it very far. as we left the bus station we saw another bendy bus on the #471 service, first Manchester 12010. We decided to do it up to Montserrat so we had a choice of buses to go back to Bolton on. We passed First Manchester 33729 on the #519 so we knew we wouldn't get that bus today. We got off and crossed the road. The next bus back was in around 5 minutes. Both the #125 and the #519 we due at the same time. Stagecoach Lancashire 15575 came first and we decided to do it.

Stagecoach Lancashire 15575 on Montserrat Brow
This bus turned out to be dud too. We had been on 15575 on the same day in June that we had been on 15583. The bus was empty Matthew got his picture straight away.

Inside Stagecoach Lancashire 15575
We headed back into Bolton in an almost empty bus. We got back in no time and we decided to take a few pictures and dodge in and out of the stands to try and avoid getting wet again. One of the picture we got was of First Manchester Bury's 69137 on the #524 service.

First Manchester 69137 in Bolton bus station
We also spotted South Lancs Travel 57 on a #574 service.

South Lancs Travel 57 in Bolton bus station
On the opposite side of the bus station stand was Stagecoach Manchester 36075. We walked back to the car which was now parked by the Job Centre as mum had moved it closer. The newsagents by stand A in the bus station was closed so we had to find somewhere to get lottery tickets. There was a newsagent around the corner so we drove back around the block and parked as close as we legal could It was still raining heavily. I went to get the tickets thinking Matthew wouldn't want to go out again in the heavy rain. I was followed shortly by mum and Matthew and we left uncle Dave in the car. As well as the lottery tickets we bought 2 cans of Coke, and a Galaxy Caramel. Back in the car we headed out of town and onto the A666. visibility was awful, but people were still driving like it was a dry clear day. we got onto the anticlockwise M60 and the matrix sign was flashing to say that the M6 had long delays from junction 21A to junction 19. Having seen this sign I decided to carry on around the M60 down to the M56. We crossed over Manchester ship canal and then passed through Northenden passed the Britannia Hotel, where we had stood waiting for Stagecoach Manchester 19405 to Altrincham back February 2012. We got onto the westbound M56 and then onto the A556 so we could join on the M6 at junction 19. The problem had caused the Northbound A556 to back up too. We sailed down the A556 and onto the M6. We carried on down to the A500 and then onto the A50. At Z carz today there were only 3 buses. First we saw new coach ALZ 8539.

Z Carz ALZ 8539 in Longton
Behind that was airport transfer minibus DL03 HHU.

Z Carz DL03 HHU in Longton
Parked behind DL03 HHU was OV05 WSW. There was nothing in the Willow Row side of the depot and we headed back down Longton Hall Road. We followed First Potteries 40010 on a #22 to Newcastle down through Blurton and we passed First Potteries 53830 on a #23. we got home a little before 19:00. For a late tea Matthew had bangers and mash followed by a choc ice. He then chilled out on his computer before bedtime around 00:00...Mark

Today we decided to have a local day out today to see if we could get any new First step entranced buses from 30031/31518/34285. Matthew got himself up just before 09:00 and he had some toast and orange juice. Just after 11:00 we went for a late breakfast at Go Eat. We got in the car and went along the A5035 until we reached to cafe. Matthew had a small breakfast with oatcakes with a glass of orange Tango. We finished eating around 12:00 and mum drove us up to Longton. on the way in we passed Z Carz and we saw D104 XAN, W344 WNS, W221 CDN and M372 NWN. Mum dropped us off in the Tesco car park by the interchange.. We decided to head of to Newcastle as this is where First step entranced deckers are allocated. We didn't have to wait very long at all before first Potteries 60083 turned up on a #26A to Newcastle.

First Potteries 60083 in Longton TI
We got on the bus and sat down near the back. The bus was reasonably well filled compared to the journey we made the other day when the bus was empty by the time we reached stoke. The bus headed out to Anchor Road and then took the diversionary route to King Street. The diversion was due to the preparation and treatment to railway bridge in Longton. The bus carried on into stoke long city Road and then we headed into Newcastle via Hartshill Road. We e-mailed the Staffordshire and Merseyside bus group to ask if anyone had seen any buses working. When we got to Newcastle matthew waited for the bus to empty before getting a picture inside First Potteries 60083.

Inside First Potteries 60083
When we got off we saw dud Wardle Transport 4891 in Newcastle bus station. We decided it would be a good time for Matthew to visit the toilet as there was nothing particularly good in the bus station. Whilst he was in the toilet an e-mail came back from the group. The only step entranced First bus out today was First Potteries 34311 which we had been on a couple of times before. We did find out the was a required bus out on the #91 from Newcastle - Bradeley, as one of the new W reg DAFs from London was working. We walked back down to the bottom of the bus station and Matthew got a picture of Wardle Transport 4891 just before it went on stand to work the next #91 to Bradeley.

Wardle Transport 4891 in Newcastle bus station
Behind this bus was the Bakerbus 251 on the X75 service. This service is rumoured to be coming to an end.

Bakerbus 251 in Newcastle bus station
Just then required Wardle Transport 4808 arrived on Stubbs Street on a #91 service and Matthew got a picture.

Wardle Transport 4808 in Newcastle bus station
As we walked down to the bottom of the bus station we saw step entranced Bakerbus 164 arrive on a #94 service. I asked Matthew if he wanted to do the #94 with Bakerbus 164 or do the #91 with Wardle Transport 4808, and he chose to do 4808. We had a few minutes before the #91 was due off and we walked back up to the exit of the bus station. whilst there Matthew took a picture of Bakerbus 164 as it departed.

Bakerbus 164 in Newcastle bus station
A few minutes before its departure time we saw the driver get in Wardle Transport 4808 an drive it onto the stand. We walked down to the stand and got on it. After booking to Bradeley, we went upstairs where Matthew got a picture inside this recently refitted bus.

Inside Wardle Transport 4808
We set off through the Bramptons and into Wolstanton. We passed First Potteries 40153 on a Newcastle bound #99A. At the bottom of Porthill Bank we passed Wardle Transport 2204 on a #91 to Newcastle. Further on we passed Wardle Transport 4891 returning to Newcastle on a #91 too. There were major roadworks on Biddulph Road and we had to wait for a few minutes on St Michaels Road for we could proceed down to Fegg Hayes. We got to Bradeley village and we went downstairs. As the bus to Hanley wasn't due immediately we st downstairs for a short while and chatted to the driver. Matthew then decided he wanted to go into the sheltered housing. When he realised the door was locked he saw someone in the office ad tapped on the window for them to let him in. Surprisingly they did. He sat in the main lounge and I gave him a can of Coke from out of the bag. After he had finished the can he visited the toilet. When we left we waved to the lady in the office so that she knew we had left and then we went back to the bus stop. We watched Wardle Transport 4808 depart back to Newcastle. A few minutes later the #19 came around and it was Wardle Transports step entranced decker 4692.

Wardle Transport 4692 in Bradeley village
We got on the bus and booked to Hanley. We went upstairs and it was empty, and so Matthew got a picture of the inside of this bus.

Inside Wardle Transport 4692
The bus set off to Smallthorne and then turned into Community Drive. The bus wound its way through to Sneyd Green having crossed the A53 the bus turned at the Berwick Arms‎ and headed up Milton Road. On the way into Hanley we passed required Wardle Transport 4896 on another #19 service. When we got to Hanley I asked Matthew if he wanted to catch a bus straight away or to go get something to eat and he chose to get something eat. As we walked down to the chips shops we saw Wardle Transport 4895 running out of service.

Wardle Transport 4895 in Hanley bus station
We carried on towards the chip shop and we got a photograph First Potteries 65729 on an inbound #20 service.

First Potteries 65729 in Hanley
After we had got the chips we sat down on a bench in John Street to watch buses. Matthew washed this down with a can of dandelion and burdock. We walked back towards John Street car park and we saw Bakerbus 265 on a #9 to Biddulph.

Bakerbus 265 in Hanley bus station
We went to the first floor and we watched and photographed bus out of the side. Whilst we were there we saw a number of interesting workings. Bakerbus 194,215,227,265,266 & 246 have all been on the #9 service. Scraggs had VT 9284 working the #5 and 42 & 80 working on the #31 with the others being Primo's. First Only step entranced double decker out today as far as we were aware was 34311 which was on either a #34 or #34A around 16:00.

First Potteries 34311 in Hanley bus station
Around 16:15 we went down to the bus station so that we could decided what we were going to catch. Having turned down required Bakerbus buses 215 & 265 on Biddulph service. Matthew decided he wanted to do Wardle Transport 2406 on the #16.

Wardle Transport 2406 in Hanley bus station
The bus was quite full so we got on and sat down in the middle of the bus on the off side.We set off towards Leek down Limekiln Bank and through Bucknall. We climbed the hill up to Werrington and then when on to Cellarhead. At cellarhead we turned left and headed through Wetley Rocks and Cheddleton up to Leek. At the end of the A520 we turned 'right outta Compton' and then right again to reached the bus station in Cromwell Terrace. When we got to the bus station we let all the other passenger get off and then Matthew got a picture inside Wardle Transport 2406.

Inside Wardle Transport 2406
He also got another picture of the outside of the bus too.

Wardle Transport 2406 in Leek bus station
We had called to mum to meet us at the bus station. Matthew went to the toilet and then we saw D&G 28 arrived working it's designated turn, the Sainsbury's free bus.

D&G 28 in Leek bus station
Matthew decided he wanted to do it so we jumped on sat down near the back. The driver took Matthew's picture for him and then we set off towards Sainsbury's. The bus headed through town and then down the A523 into the Churnet Valley and then to the stop in front of the store. We decided that we were going to go straight back as mum had just arrived in town as we left on the bus. The bus waited for it's scheduled time and we had a quick chat to the driver whilst we waited. The bus set off bang on time and we headed back up the A523 into town. When we got back we waited for the bus to empty and he got a picture inside this bus too.

Inside D&G 28
We got back in the car and we headed back towards Home along the A53 via smallthorne. We also visited someone in Birches Head before going around Hanley and up Victoria Road. We stopped here to visited MacDonalds. After we had picked up the food we headed home via Victoria Road, City Road, The a50 link Road and then through Heron Cross back to Blurton. We got home around 19:00 and Matthew ate his chicken nugget meal and had his plain cheeseburger. After this he chilled out on his computer until bedtime around 11:30...Mark

Today we planned a trip to Blackburn. We had planned to go the week before but decided to push Blackburn back a week and to visit Halifax instead. We didn't do any bus research for today other than to check the weather as we have been to the area twice before. The weather was forecast for dry weather with sunny spells and still reasonably warm. We did look into car parking and we decided to park and eat at Morissons. Matthew got up around 10:30 today. Mum wasn't very well and it had a slight impact on departure time. After eating his toast and drinking his orange juice we were ready to do just before 12:00. we set off onto the A5035 viewing Wardle Transport 2963 on the Plumline and First Potteries 40017 on #22 to Newcastle. We turn onto Stanley Matthews Way and then onto the Westbound A50. We got onto the Northbound A500 passing an unidentified former Travel WM single decker. We did the A500 up to the M6. When we reached the m6 the Northbound side was standing. Traffic was very heavy up to junction 19 and there was an 'incident' by Knutsford services. North of the A556 we made better progress and once we went passed the M62 we went fine. We joined the M65 and we came off at junction 4 where we joined the A666 for the run into Blackburn. We were aware that Blackburn were playing at home and we saw the crowd around the ground as we passed Ewood Park. We carried on into town and after a few wrong turning we turned into Morrisons and parked up around 14:00. We went to the toilet and then we went to the cafe where Matthew had a breakfast followed by his favourite lemon meringue pie. We got talking to an Accrington man who didn't think we weren't local! We must be spending too much time in the North West... After we had finished we walked over to the bus station to take a few pictures. One of the first buses we saw was required M&M coaches N663 VSS. We got a picture of it as it turned in the interchange area.

M&M Coaches N663 VSS in Blackburn TI
We walked down to the stop at which we caught the the #46 last time and waited for the bus to come back down the boulevard. We stuck our hand out and the bus went past and the driver gestured he was stopping down the road. The bus stopped at stop A which was a little further down. He explained that drivers had been in trouble for not stopping at the correct stop which is fair enough. As the bus was empty Matthew took a picture inside this tidy minibus.

Inside M&M Coaches N663 VSS
We sat down to enjoy the journey into Accrington. As we left blackburn we saw Pilkington bus S291 RAG on Ainsworth Stret and further out of town we passed Pilkington bus Dart Cadet R845 VEC. The journey on the #46 is one of the quickest as it goes directly along the A679. About half way along we passed dud M&M Coaches P350 NKH on the other #46 turn. We got there quite quickly and as we turned into Peel Street and saw another M&M Coaches bus on stand N202 LPN.

M&M Coaches N202 LPN in Accrington bus station
I thought the bus was a required one, so we jumped on it and asked for a return back to Accrington. It turns out it was the first M&M Coaches bus we did back in July. I thought we had been on N201 UHH and it turns out it was the other way round! As the bus was empty Matthew got a picture inside M&M Coaches N202 LPN.

Inside M&M Coaches M202 LPN
We set off along Peel Street and up to the current turning point on Whinney Hill Road. There were roadworks that prevented the bus taking it usual route. As we returned back into town we passed former PSV Renault Dodge 'Save the Bees' E103 JNH. We carried on past KFC and back into town. We got off in Bridge Street and took another picture of this fine beast.

I thought we could have short break from the buses as we stopped for a drink. Matthew had a can of Coke from the bag. Whilst there we saw Rossendale Easyride 229.

We decided to look for a cash machine, but we didn't go very far to look. We saw required Pilkington Bus S451 WAT on a #21 service.

We also saw dud Pilkington Bus G301 UYK on a #21A if it had been required G306 UYK we would have been over like a shot! Behind the #21 required M&M Coaches M458 JPA and we crossed over the road to catch this.

We got on the bus an there were a few peoplle already on it so matthew got a picture of the back seat, with required Pilkington Bus P729 RYL in the background on a local service.

We sat down and off the bus went. The journey up to Oswaldtwistle was swift and we got off near the school.

We decided to cross over the road and visit the shop. We used the cash machine We then went into the shop and brought lottery tickets and a can of Coke, a Milky Way and a large Galaxy caramel bar. We sat outside the shop and Matthew ate the Milky way and put the can and the Galaxy caramel in the bag for another time. Whilst we were there we saw S451 WAT going towards Blackburn on the #21 and Pilkington Bus R845 VEC on the Accrington bound bus. We crossed over the road thinking we would have a 20 minute wait for the next Blackburn service. The plan was to get a Pilkington Bus day ticket and pick up 2 or 3 of the required buses that were out on the circulars today. When we got to stop we saw the next Pilkington Bus was 17:01 and it was the last one of the day. So we had to resort to Plan B. Do a Transdev Lancashire United bus into Blackburn on a day ticket and do a couple more. There was a bus due in couple of minutes and when it appeared it was required Transdev Lancashire United 1820.

We got on the bus and booked a local day ticket at the cost of £4.20. This is 70p more than the equivalent ticket from Pilkington Bus, but at least the buses run beyond 17:30. We sat down near the back. The bus set off and it takes a longer route into town than most of its competitors. The bus goes through Shadsworth and then into the hospital. As we came out of the hospital we passed Lancashire United 16 an Olympian that had 5A outer circle on the front. The bus dropped into town from the south Side and then we joined onto the A666 near B&Q before going into town. when the bus got into the Transport Interchange it emptied out and Matthew got a picture inside.

We got off and we took a picture of Rossendale 139 which we had passed on the way into town by the Hospital.

Matthew indicated the he wanted to catch a double decker. We just missed on going out on a #41 to Accrington, so we decided to do the next #41/X41 to pick the next X41 back into town which we thought would almost certainly be one. We walked to stand A where the #41 goes from, and on the way we saw new stagecoach Lancashire 15913 on a #59 to Preston.

It was 17:00 now, and the next #41 was due at 17:10. We saw the bus go up and it was required Transdev Lancashire United 566. The bus came back down and Matthew got a picture of it.

When we got on we picked up a #41/X41 timetable. As we got on Matthew photographed the empty back of the bus.

We sat down near the back on the group seats. We worked out we could do 566 to just the other side of the M65 and catch the X41 back. When we passed under the motorway we traveled down the hill until we saw a few houses and then we got off the bus. We crossed the road and as the road was clear we decided to walk towards Accrington one stop. We didn't have to wait long and we saw a double decker approaching. It was required Transdev Lancashire United 407.

We set off towards Blackburn and we passed a pair of Lime green Olympians coming from the Shadworth direction. We acrried on into town and when we reached the Boulevard the bus emptied out and Matthew got a picture inside Transdev Lancashire United 407.

We got off at the interchange and we decided to take a few pictures of buses as we walked back to Morrisons. The bus bus we saw was Transdev Lancashire United MPD Dart 703.

We took a few more picture as we walked along, the last of which was Transdev Lancashire United 1829.

After meeting up with mum and using the toilet in Morrisons we headed back to the car. At the car Matthew had some of sausage roll (it wasn't Greggs and he didn't like it much) and some of a doughnut (the doughnuts were labeled ring when the were just like jam doughnuts, but with no jam in them!). We set off back down the A666 towards to motorway. We passed Ewood Park and saw Ashcroft Travel HIG 5675 outside the ground. We realised that we hadn't got a drink so we stopped just before the motorway to get a bottle of Irn Bru out of the emergency supplies in the boot. We got on the M65 motorway and headed west. We then got onto the M6 and head South. The road was now clear and we reached the A500 by 19:00. We headed South on the A500 and came off onto the A50 and headed into Longton. There were 4 buses parked up at Z carz tonight. D104 XAN was at the front of the row.

We checked out the Willow Row compound which was empty ad then we headed home down Longton Hall Road into Blurton. As we headed home we passed First Potteries 53405 with it's broken display. We got home around 19:30. whilst he waited Matthew had a toffee flavoured yoghurt. For a late tea Matthew had bangers and mash followed by cheesecake. He then chilled out on his computer until bedtime around 23:45...Mark
