Trip to Hanley / Newcastle 11-05-2018

Today Matthew was in residential and he was going to his day service. He was also going to see Grandma later on and going to the pub and returning to Blurton for a long weekend. Matthew got up and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Whilst waiting for time to got to the day centre Matthew spent time in his room watching buses. We saw First Potteries 67157 on a #23 to Newstead.

When it was time to go out we set off on foot to the day centre. We walked onto Temple Street and onto Christchurch Street. At the day centre. In the morning we went on the bus to Hanley. We set off on foot onto City Road and we crossed over. On the way to the bus stop we saw Copeland's Tours MIB 279 going towards Stoke. We walked around the corner onto Victoria Road and we waited at the bus stop for a bus to Hanley. A few minutes later the bus appeared and it was First Potteries 67654 on a #6A to Hanley. We got on the bus and we booked to Hanley before we sat down. We set off down Victoria Road and we crossed over the A52 at Joiners Square. We ran up Lichfield Street and we crossed over the ring road. We then got up and got off the bus at the stop outside the bus station. Once off the bus we set off up Lichfield Street and forwards onto Tontine Street. We turned left onto Percy Street and we crossed over Stafford Street into Piccadilly. We turned left onto Chepside and we stopped at The Seafarer for dinner. Matthew had sausage chips and gravy washed down with a can of Coke. When we had finished we walked up Cheapside towards the town hall and we turned left onto Albion Street. We turned right into Lichfield Street and back to the bus station. We waited at the stop outside the bus station for a bus back to Fenton. A few minutes later First Potteries 63178 made an appearance on the #6 to Weston Coyney. We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off up Lichfield Street and we turned right into Birch Terrace. We followed the road around to the left onto Charles Street. At the top we turned right onto Old Hall Street before turning right onto the ring road We turned left onto Lichfield Street and we ran down the hill to Joiners Square. We crossed the roundabout onto Victoria Road and we ran up the hill into Fenton. At the top of the hill we got up and got off the bus. One off the bus we set off on foot onto City Road and we turned left onto Christchurch Street. We turned right onto Temple Street and we walked back to the residential unit. Matthew went up to his room to use his computer and chill out. He waited for me to come and pick him up to go home. I turned up around 14:30 and we got ready to go to Blurton. We got in the car and we drove onto Temple Street where we saw Roseville WG17 XRM. We turned right onto Christchurch Street and right onto Station Bridge Road. We followed the road around onto Heron Street and into Heron Cross. We went through the traffic lights and forwards onto Blurton Road. As we travelled through Blurton we passed First Potteries 67152 on a #23A to Hanley. We continued through Blurton and we passed First Potteries 67159 on a #23 to Hanley. We turned right onto Church Street and right onto Beaconsfield Drive. By OSSMA we saw Stanton's of Stoke HXZ 9939. We got home around 15:00. When we got home Matthew had toast and a glass of Cherry Coke. Today we were catching the 15:56 to Newcastle as we were going to the pub via Grandma's House. We set off around 15:45 on foot to the bus stop all the way onto Magdalen Road. Whilst we wauted we saw First Potteries 63098 on a #22 to Longton.

A few minutes later we saw First Potteries 65732 appear around the corner on a #22 to Newcastle.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off onto the A5035. We went over the railway line into Trentham and just after the Trentham Hotel we saw Free Spirits FJ55 PVY. We turned right into New Inn Lane and we ran up the hill into Hanford. As we turned left into Wilson Road, we saw First Potteries 67159 on a #21 to Trenthan Gardens. We ran down Church Lane to the A34. We crossed under the A500 and we saw Newcastle School HX66 AUR. We turned right into Harpfields Road and we saw First Potteries 41498 on the final #22 turn. We continued forwards on Hilton Road. As we travelled through the hospital we saw ABC Supreme DU60 XTB and First Potteries 37156 on a #25 to Hanley. We turned right onto the A34 and saw First Potteries 32648 on a #25 to Hanley. A couple of stops down the road we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took a picture of First Potteries 65732 as it carried on towards Newcastle.

We crossed over the A34 and we walked up the hill to Grandma's house. At Grandma's Matthew had a can of Irn Bru and used her computer. Around 17:50 we set off onto Victoria Street. We turned left onto the A34. We continued down the A34 and we ran down into Trent Vale and we were passed by E-zec parient transport YN15 FJK. We carried on down the A34 and we went into the pub. Matthew had a brunch with oatcakes followed by toffee sponge pudding with custard. Whilst we ate highlights of the passing buses included ABC Supreme KX13 DZL going Northwards. We also saw First Potteries 65036 on a #101 to Hanley and D&G Bus 38 running out of service back to Adderley Green. Once we had finished eating we set off back to Blurton. We ran down the A34 and we joined the A500 at Hanford. We went North up the A500 to Sideway and then we went Eastwards along the A50 where we saw Hollinshead FH17 HOL. We came off the A50 at Heron Cross and we dropped down into Fenton to pick uncle Dave up. Once we had picked him up we ran up to Heron Street and we crossed over the A50. We continued into Blurton along Blurton Road where we saw School's Out YG58 WFS. We turned right onto Church Road and we turned right into Beaconsfield Drive. We got home around 19:30. Matthew chilled out on his computer and we composed a few e-mails and sorted a few things out. We then chilled out on the sofa doing e-mails and writing the until bedtime around 01:00... Mark
