Trip to Crewe / Newcastle 20-07-2018

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. He was also going to see Grandma later on and going to the pub and returning to Blurton for a long weekend. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Whilst we waited for time to go out Matthew watched buses from his window. Around 09:00 we set off to the day centre on foot. We down onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Christchurch Street. We carried on to the day centre. In the morning Matthew went out by car to Crewe. We set off onto Glebedale Road and we turned left onto City Road. We ran down the hill towards Stoke and we turned right onto the A52. We ran near to the railway station and we continued onto Joiners Square. At the roundabout we turned left onto Lichfield Street and we ran up into Hanley. We joined the anti-clockwise ring road and we ran around to the present end. We turned right at the roundabout onto Waterloo Road. We ran through Cobridge and up into Burslem. We continued onto Scotia Road and we ran around the back of Tunstall High Street past the police station. We ran forwards onto High Street and we crossed over Tunstall by-pass and into Goldenhill. We ran down the hill into Kidsgrove we under the railway line and the Macclesfield Canal. We ran into Church Lawton and at the junction we followed the A50 to the left. Further North we ran past the Stanways Coaches depot and we saw S488 UAK in the depot. We continued up the A50 to Arclid and we crossed over the A534. We continued North through Bererton and Holmes Chappel. We continued Northwards along the A50 through Cranage and Allstock and up into Knutsford. We travelled Westwards along the A5033 and we joined the Westbound A556. At Davenham, we went Southwards down the A533 to Middlewich. We travelled though town and we went Southwards down the A530 to the edge of Crewe. We stopped for dinner and matthew went to the toilet before getting a glass of Coke for dinner Matthew had a Mixed Grill followed by Lemon Meringue Pie for afters. When we had finished we returned to Fenton in the car. We ran Southwards down the A532 and we continue onto David Whitby Way. M6 motorway, We Joined the eastbound A500 and we ran under the M6. We continued Southwards to Talke and we joined the Southbound A34. We ran Southwards through Chesterton and Milehouse and into Newcastle. We turned left onto Ryecroft and right onto Barracks Road. We re-joined the Southbound A34 and we went past the hospital. We turned left onto Newcastle Lane and we ran up to the centre of Penkhull. We turned onto St Thomas's Place and left onto Princes Road past the old A&E department. At the end we turned left onto the A52. We ran down to Stoke and onto the one way system. We turned right onto Elenora Street and we followed the road around onto Copeland Street. We ran forwards onto Glebe Street and we followed the one way system onto Church Street. We crossed over the A500 onto City Road and we went under the railway line. We ran up the hill into Fenton and we turned right onto Smithpool Road. We turned left into Temple Street and back to the residential unit. When Matthew got there I was already waiting to take him home. Once we were ready we went downstairs and out of the residential unit. We got in the car and we drove onto Temple Street. We turned right onto Christchurch Street and right onto Station Bridge Road. We followed the road around onto Heron Street and into Heron Cross where we saw First Potteries 67154 on a #23 to Newstead. We went through the traffic lights and forwards onto Blurton Road where we saw Lucky Seven SD10 BMZ & Lightning Travel MX54 VVF. We continued through Blurton and we turned right onto Church Street. As we travelled through Blurton we passed First Potteries 67601 on a #22 to Longton. We turned right onto Beaconsfield Drive. By OSSMA we saw an unidentified Elcock Reisen coach. We got home around 15:00. When we got home Matthew had toast and a can of Coke. Today we were catching the 15:56 to Newcastle as we were going to the pub via Grandma's House. We set off around 15:50 on foot to the bus stop all the way onto Magdalen Road. Going the other way was First Potteries 67637 on a #22 to Longton.

The bus was a little late today due to traffic. When it appeared it was First Potteries 67655 on a #22 to Newcastle.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle and sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off onto the A5035. We went over the railway line into Trentham. We turned right into New Inn Lane and we ran up the hill into Hanford. We turned right into Wilson Road and we ran down Church Lane where we sat the new unidentified Hanford Manor minibus. We continued down onto the A34 and as we joined the A34 we saw Stoke-on-Trent welfare bus LK17 DXD about to join the A34. We crossed under the A500 and we saw First Potteries 67601 on the final #22 turn. We turned right into Harpfields Road and we continued forwards on Hilton Road where we saw D&G Bus 109 on a #9 to Biddulph. We turned into the hospital and as we travelled through the hospital we saw E-zec patient transport SF16 EFU, First Potterires 32630 on a #25 to Hanley and ABC Supreme HV18 FHH. We turned right onto the A34 and we followed an unidentified Concierge Coach Travel coach towards Newcastler. A couple of stops down the road we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of First Potteries 67655 as it carried onto Newcastle.

We crossed over the A34 and we walked up the hill to Grandma's house. At Grandma's Matthew had a can of Irn Bru and used her computer. As mum was at work, grandad gave us a lift to the pub. We set off just after 17:30 and we ran down Victoria Street. We turned left onto the SA34 and we ran southwards into Trent Vale. We carried on down the A34 and we went into the pub. Matthew had a brunch with oatcakes followed by toffee sponge pudding with custard. Whilst we ate highlights of the passing buses included ABC Supreme FY52 NSV going Northwards and First Potteries 65034 on a #101 to Stafford. Once we had finished eating we went out to catch a bus towards home. We had missed the last #22 to Blurton by 5 minutes and since the timetable change the last bus of Newcastle is 18:09! We decided to catch a bus as far as Trentham and walk the rest of the way. We crossed over london Road and we waited at the stop opposite the pub. A few minutes later the bus appeared as expected and it was First Potteries 67157.

We got on the bus and we booked to the Trentham Hotel before we sat down to wards the back of the bus. We set off onto the A34 and we went under the A500 into Hanford where we saw First Potteries 67159 on a #21 to Hanley. We turned left onto Church Lane and we ran up to the top of the hill. We turned right into Wilson Road and at the end we turned left onto New Inn Lane. We ran down the hill past the Man in Spcae and forwards onto the A5035. We headed left and we stopped out side the Trentham Hotel where we got up and got off the bus. Matthew got another picture of First Potteries 67157 before it returned to Hanley on the last #21A of the evening.

Once we let the bus go we headed along the A5035 towards Blurton. It was raining and we ran between trees and bus shelters to try and keep dry. We crossed over the railway line into Blurton and we continued past the Hem Heath pub and the Newstead Industrial estate. We turned into the estate and we got home around 19:15. Back at Blurton we wrote e-mails and worked on the Blog. Matthew had a bottle of Coke and a glass of shandy as well as a bag of Frazzles. We then chilled out watching music videos on the television and Matthew went to be d aroun 00:30... Mark
