Trip to Fenton / Newcastle 17-08-2018

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. He was also going to see Grandma later on and going to the pub and returning to Blurton for a long weekend. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Around 09:00 Matthew went to the day centre. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Christchurch Street and up to the day centre. In the morning Matthew did cookery and made curry and rice. For dinner went to the chip shop. We set off onto Christchurch Street and we turned left onto Temple Street. We stopped at the building site and Matthew took a picture of the new sheltered housing building.

We walked around the corner to the chip shop and we picked up the food to take back. We set off up Tample Street and we turned right onto Chirstchurch Street and to the day centre. Matthew ate his dinner of sausage chips and gravy. In the afternoon Matthew went to the pub. We set off up City road and we turned right onto Christchurch Street and to the pub. Matthew went to the toilet and then had a glass of Coke. Matthew chilled out in the pub for a while until it was time to return to the day centre. We set off on foot onto Christchurch Street and we turned left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went up to his room to use his computer and chill out. I was already in his room waiting for him. Once we were ready we went downstairs and out of the residential unit. We got in the car and we drove onto Temple Street. We turned right onto Christchurch Street and right onto Station Bridge Road. We followed the road around onto Heron Street and into Heron Cross where we saw First Potteries 67152 on a #23 to Hanley. We went through the traffic lights and forwards onto Blurton Road. We continued through Blurton and we turned right onto Church Street. We turned right onto Beaconsfield Drive. We got home around 15:10. When we got home Matthew had toast and a small bottle of Coke. Today we were catching the 16:26 to Newcastle as we were going to the pub via Grandma's House. We set off around 16:15 on foot to the bus stop all the way onto Magdalen Road. Going the other way was First Potteries 67655 on a #22 to Longton.

A few minutes later we saw a bus come around the corner. As it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 67656 on a #22 to Newcastle.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle and sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off onto the A5035. We went over the railway line into Trentham. We turned right into New Inn Lane and we ran up the hill into Hanford. We turned right into Wilson Road and we ran down Church Lane where we passed First Potteries 67155 on a #21A to Trentham Hotel. We continued down onto the A34 and we crossed under the A500 and we saw First Potteries 67636 on the final #22 turn. We turned right into Harpfields Road and we continued forwards on Hilton Road and we turned into the hospital. Due tt a diversion we turned sharp left and went past the A&E department. We ran down the hill towards the A34 past the Clinical Education Centre. We turned right onto the A34 and we saw ABC Supreme HV18 GVR and we passed First Potteries 32649 on a #101 to Stafford. A couple of stops down the road we got up and got off the bus. Matthew took another picture of First Potteries 67656 as it carried onto Newcastle.

We crossed over the A34 and we walked up the hill to Grandma's house. At Grandma's Matthew presented grandad with birthday presents and card as it had been his birthday in the week. Matthew had a can of Irn Bru and used her computer. As mum was at work, grandad gave us a lift to the pub. We set off just after 17:40 and we ran down Victoria Street. We turned left onto the A34 and we saw First Potteries 63098 on a #101 to Hanley. and we ran southwards into Trent Vale. We carried on down the A34 and we went into the pub. Matthew had a brunch with oatcakes followed by toffee sponge pudding with custard. Whilst we ate highlights of the passing buses included ABC Supreme OU18 CEV going Northwards and First Potteries 65036 on a #101 to Hanley. Once we had finished eating we went out to catch a bus towards home. We had missed the last #22 to Blurton by 5 minutes and since the timetable change the last bus of Newcastle is 18:09! We decided to catch a bus as far as Trentham and walk the rest of the way. We crossed over london Road and we waited at the stop opposite the pub. A few minutes later the bus appeared as expected and it was First Potteries 67154.

We got on the bus and we booked to the Trentham Hotel before we sat down to wards the back of the bus. We set off onto the A34 and we went under the A500 into Hanford where we saw First Potteries 67157 on a #21 to Hanley. We turned left onto Church Lane and we ran up to the top of the hill. We turned right into Wilson Road and at the end we turned left onto New Inn Lane. We ran down the hill past the Man in Spcae and forwards onto the A5035. We headed left and we stopped out side the Trentham Hotel where we got up and got off the bus. Matthew got another picture of First Potteries 67154 before it returned to Hanley on the last #21A of the evening.

Once we let the bus go we headed along the A5035 towards Blurton. We crossed over the railway line into Blurton and we continued past the Hem Heath pub and the Newstead Industrial estate. We turned into the estate and we got home around 19:30. Back at Blurton we wrote e-mails and worked on the Blog. Matthew had a can of Cherry Coke as well as a bag of Frazzles. We then chilled out watching music videos on the television and Matthew went to bed aroun 00:30... Mark
