Trip to Trentham / Newcastle 24-05-2019

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. He was also going to see Grandma later on and going to the pub and returning to Blurton for a long weekend. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast for breakfast. Before Matthew went to the day centre he watched buses out of the window. whilst waiting for the time to go to the day centre, we saw grey minibus DE68 FVC. Around 09:00 Matthew went downstairs and set off to the day centre. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Christchurch Street and to the day centre where we saw Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX.

In the morning Matthew we to Trentham by bus. We set off on foot onto Christchurch Street and we stood at the bus stop by Albert Square to wait for a bus to Longton. After a short while we saw D&G Bus 39 on a #40 to Longton.

We got on the bus and we booked to Longton before sitting down towards the back of the bus. We set off along Christchurch Street. At the end we turned right onto Station Bridge Road and we crossed over the railway line. We ran forwards Heron Street and we went through Heron Cross and over the A50. We ran into Blurton along Blurton Road and we turned left onto Longton Hall Road. We ran up the hill and we ran forwards onto Heathcote Street. We turned left onto the high level A50 and at the roundabout we turned right onto Baths Road. We ran past Tesco before turning right into Longton Interchange. Once off the bus we waited for the bus to Trentham. A few minutes later we saw First Potteries 63172 on a #22 to Newcastle.

We got on the bus and we booked a First day ticket at £5.00 before sitting down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off out of the Interchange onto Baths Road past Tesco. We cross over the A50 onto Foley Road and at the end we turned right onto Longton Hall Road. We ran down the hill into Blurton and we turned left onto Blurton Road. We ran up the hill and at the roundabout we turned right onto Church Road. We turned right onto Beaconsfield Drive and we ran to the end. We turned right onto Finstock Avenue and we followed the road around onto Magdalen Road. We turned right onto the A5035 and we ran over the railway line into Trentham. At the next stop we got up and got off the bus. Once over the bus we continued over the canal and into the pub. Matthew went to the toilet and afterwards had a glass of Coke. For dinner Matthew had had a carvery. He had beef and gammon with potatoes, carrots and a Yorkshire pudding with gravy. For afters Matthew had chocolate fudge cake with custard. When he had finished Matthew went to the toilet. We set off on foot onto Longton Road and we crossed over onto Brough Lane. We went forwards onto The Lea and at the end we turned right onto New Inn Lane. We stopped at the bus stop and we waited for the next bus to Longton. A few minutes later we saw First Potteries 67665 on a #22 to Longton.

We got on the bus and we placed the First day ticket under the scanner before down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off along New Inn Lane and at the end we turned left onto Longton Road. We crossed over the canal and the railway line and into Blurton and we turned left into Magdalen Road. At the junction we followed the road around to the right onto Finstock Avenue. We turned left onto Beaconsfield Drive and we ran through the estate to the other end. We turned left onto Church Road and at the the roundabout we turned left onto Blurton Road. We ran to the bottom of the hill and we turned right onto Longton Hall Road. We ran up the hill and we ran forwards onto Heathcote Street. We turned left onto the high level A50 and at the roundabout we turned right onto Baths Road. We ran past Tesco before turning right into Longton Interchange. Once off the bus we waited for the bus to Fenton. A few minutes later we saw D&G BUs 109 on a #40 to Fenton.

We got on the bus and we booked to Fenton before sitting down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off out of the Interchange onto Baths Road past Tesco. We cross over the A50 onto Foley Road and at the end we turned right onto Longton Hall Road. We ran down the hill into Blurton and we turned right onto Blurton Road. We ran up the hill and at the roundabout we crossed over the A50. We went through the traffic lights onto Heron Street and we turned left onto Grove Road. We ran into Fenton and forwards onto Whieldon Road. We turned right onto Smithpool Road and we crossed over the railway line where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we turned up Welby Street and we turned left onto Watkin Street. We walked to the end onto Temple Street and back to the resudential unit. Matthew went upstairs to his room to chill out and wait for to appear. I arrived about 14:40 and Matthew got ready to go back to Blurton for the weekend. When we were ready we went by car back to Blurton. We went downstairs and we got in the car. We set off onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Christchurch Street. At the end we turned right onto Station Bridge Road and we crossed over the railway line. We ran forwards Heron Street and we went through Heron Cross and over the A50 we saw Lightning Travel R6 DLT parked up at the Lightning house. We ran into Blurton along Blurton Road and we veered right onto Church Street. We turned right onto Beaconsfield Drive and we got back to Blurton around 15:00. When we got home Matthew had toast and a drink of Irn Bru. We had planned to go to Grandma's on the 15:56. We set off on foot to the bus stop all the way over on Magdalen Road and we waited for the bus to Newcastle. Whilst we waited we saw First Potteries 67665 on a #22 to Longton. A few minutes later the bus turned the corner. As it got closer we saw it was First Potteries 67649 on a #22 to Newcastle.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle and we sat down towards the back of the bus. We set off onto the A5035 and we ran over the railway line into Trentham. We passed Daw2Door Travel EG16 VLX parked in a side street. We turned right into New Inn Lane and we ran up the hill. We entered Hanford and we turned right into Wilson Road. We turned left into Church Lane and we joined the A34 and we saw S-o-T welfare bus LK17 DXD and Free Spirits FJ55 PVY. As we crossed under the A500. We then headed into Trent Vale and we turned right into Harpfields Road we continued onto Hilton Road. We turned left into the hospital and we saw white minibus EA07 LMW, First Potteries 37159 on a #25 to Hanley, silver minibus LK16 VKA and ABC Supreme HV18 GVU. We turned right onto the A34 passing First Potteries 32639 on a #25 to Hanley. A couple of stops down the road we got up to get off the bus. The rear of the bus was empty so Matthew took a picture inside First Potteries 67649.

Once off the bus we set off along the A34. As we walked towards the crossing we saw First Potteries 65033 on a #101 to Hanley.

We continued up continued up to Grandma's house. At Grandma's Matthew had some toast, a can of Irn Bru and a slice of lemon drizzle cake. He also used her computer. We said goodbye to Grandma around 18:00. We set off onto Occupation Street and we turned left onto the A34. We ran down into Trent Vale and in the retail park we saw ABC Supreme minicoach KX64 AFF. We stopped at the pub and we went inside. Matthew had a brunch with oatcakes followed by toffee sponge pudding with ice cream. Whilst we ate highlights of the passing buses included First Potteries 65039 on a #101 to Stafford, grey minibus YJ12 EKG, unidentified Shearings coach and Autocabs MT13 PGU. When it was time to go we got in the car to go pick up uncle Dave. We ran down the A34 and we got onto the Northbound A500. At Sideway we got onto the Eastbound A50. We came of the A50 at Heron Cross and we dropped down into Fenton to pick uncle Dave up. Once we had picked him up we returned to Heron Cross and we crossed the A50. We ran along Blurton Road and right onto Church Road. We turned right onto Beaconsfield Drive. We got home around 19:30. Matthew chilled out on his computer and we composed a few e-mails and sorted a few things out. We then chilled out on the sofa until bedtime around 00:00... Mark
