Trip to Longton Park / Newcastle 15-03-2019

Today Matthew was in the residential unit and he was going to his day service. he was going to see Grandma later on and going to the pub and returning to Blurton for a long weekend. Matthew got up around 08:00 and had toast and orange juice for breakfast. Around 09:00 we went downstairs and we set off onto Temple Street and we turned right onto Christchurch Street and to the day centre. At the day centre we saw Shelton Care Group DY08 FFX parked up.

In the morning we went to Longton Park. Transport for the trip was in a Lucky Seven taxi. We set off onto Glebedale Road and right onto City Road. We turned right onto the A50 link road and we joined the Eastbound A50. We came off the A50 at Longton and we ran along the high level road to the next roundabout and onto the A5035. We ran down to Dresden and we turned into Queens Park Road were we parked up. At the parked Matthew used the toilet before undertaking the 1 mile walk. We visited the new cafe. After we had finished they got back in Lucky Seven taxi. We went down to the A5035 and we headed up towards Longton we saw First Potteries 63098 on a #22 to Newcastle. We joined the A50 and we ran down to Heron Cross. We cam off and went along the Link Road up to City Road. We turned left and left again onto Glebedale Road and to our destination. For dinner had a buffet for Red Nose Day. He had a pizza made of Ciabatta and ham and a sausage roll followed by gingerbread men. In the afternoon Matthew went to the pub on foot. We set off onto Christchurch Street and into the pub. Matthew went to the toilet and then had a glass of Coke. Matthew chilled out the pub for a while. He returned to the residential unit on foot. We set off along Christchurch Street and we turned left onto Temple Street and back to the residential unit. Matthew went upstairs to chill out and use his computer and wait for me to pick him up. I arrived just after 14:30 and we got ready to go out. Whilst we got ready we saw Copeland's Tours MIB 293 heading towards Stoke. We set off around 15:00 and went downstairs and we cut through onto City Road. On the way to the bus stop we saw Afford rent-a-car MK19 MMJ at their garage. We continued to the bus stop and we waited for a bus towards Stoke. Whilst we waited we saw Southgate & Finchley SJ15 PVD heading towards Longton. A few minutes later we saw Copeland's Tours MIB 797 heading towards Stoke.

A few minutes later we saw a stoke bound bus approaching. As it got closer we saw that it was D&G Bus 142 on a #1A to Wood Lane.

We got on the bus and we booked to Stoke before sitting down towards the back of the bus. The bus set off down City Road and we ran down the hill over the old railway line to Leek and onto the A52. We ran under the railway line and over the A500 and straight into Stoke town centre along Church Street where we got up and got off the bus. Once off the bus we waited for the next bus towards the hospital. A few minutes later we saw First Potteries 37157 on a #25 to Keele.

The bus must have been running a little late as it departed before we had time to get to it. A cross the road we saw First Potteries 32650 on a #25 to Hanley.

There was a few minutes to wait for the next #25. Whilst we waited we saw D&G Bus 39 on a #2 to Birches Head.

A few minutes later we saw 2 buses approaching. First Potteries 63173 was on a #11 to Newcastle in front of First Potteries 37158 on a #25 to Keele.

We got on the bus and we booked to Newcastle before we went upstairs and sat down. We set off along Church Street and off up the hill along Hartshill Road. We passed the Noah's Ark pub and Just after the pub we turned left by the Co-operative Food store and we headed to the hospital. As we travelled through the hospital we saw First Potteries 32634 on a #25 to Hanley, E-zec patient transport MK18 XRW & ABC Supreme HN18 VHM. We bounced our way through the hospital grounds over the severe speed bumps and we joined the North bound A34. A couple of stops up the road we got up and got off the bus. On the way up to Grandma's house we saw D&G Bus 41 on a #2 to Newcastle.

We walked down the A34 towards the crossing. As we went to cross the road we saw white minibus RL02 ZDG going towards Newcastle.

We walked up the hill to Grandma's house. At Grandma's Matthew had toast and a can of Irn Bru and one of the red velvet cupcakes he had made earlier and used her computer. When it was time to go we went to the pub in the car via uncle Dave's house. We set off just after 17:30 and we set off onto Victoria Street. We turned left onto the A34. As we approached the hospital we saw First Potteries 47520 on a #22 to Longton. and we turned left onto The Avenue. At the end we turned right onto Hartshill Road. We ran down to Stoke and onto the one way system. We turned right onto Elenora Street and we followed the road around onto Copeland Street. We ran forwards onto Glebe Street and we followed the one way system onto Church Street. We crossed over the A500 and we turned right onto the A500 and we veered left into Fenton to pick up uncle Dave. We set off back down towards Stoke and onto the A500. We went around the one-way system. We ran through Stoke and onto Church Street. We continued forwards onto Hartshill Road and we ran into Hartshill. We turned left into Princes Road and right into Queens Road. As we headed into Penkhull we saw ABC Supreme KX14 EBZ & HV18 FHH. At the end of Queens Road we turned right onto Newcastle Lane. We ran down to the roundabout and we turned left onto Harpfields Road. At the end of the road we turned left onto the A34 and we ran to the pub. We walked into the pub and sat down out our normal tables. Matthew had a brunch with oatcakes followed by toffee sponge pudding with custard. Whilst we ate highlights of the passing buses included First Potteries 37156 on a #101 to Hanley and First Potteries 65042 on a #101 to Stafford. Once we had finished eating we set off We carried on along the A34 through Hanford and into Trentham passing First Potteries 65037 on a #101 to hanley. We turned left onto the A5035 and we crossed over the railway line and into Blurton. We got back around 19:00. Matthew chilled out on his computer and we sorted a few things out. We wrote the Blog and we sent a couple of e-mails. We chilled out on the sofa until bedtime around 00:00... Mark
